What does it matter what they paid him when we haven't hit the salary cap? The guy is a great athlete; too bad he didn't do much for us.

It would be a great story if it turns into something real, but we'll have to wait and see. He didn't even start playing football until high school so they obviously see a lot of upside from a "local" kid.

I agree. I may be one of the foolish optimists and apologists out there, but I am legitimately more excited about watching this team this weekend than I have been in really long time.

I was totally surprised when we signed Branch and Lawson. They have worked out great. I think Legursky is servicable, but if he didn't have the injury he would have beat out Brown and could be playing even better at this point. I think the Sheppard/Hughs trade was some good "out of the box" thinking.

Marrone said this morning that Lawson will be ready to go. Pretty huge for our run defense (defense in general IMO). Sounds like Charles is banged up with sprained knee, but will play.
I wonder when we'll find out if Thad is going to practice today. They said that xrays on his ribs showed up negative so they are just badly bruised. Still not comfortable for throwing a football and taking hits in the pocket, but better than cracked ribs (a la Fitz).
I know Stevie is going to go, but I wonder how healthy he can possibly be with all that he has going on.

The biggest concern is Stevie as a deep threat? Regardless of who the quarterback is? King's analysis is usually a little better than that.

Spillers comments that sure make it seem like they shouldn't have waited until last week to sit him. Sounds like it has set him back a few weeks.
