Was listening to Joe Marino on the Locked On Bills podcast- he had a guest on one of his most recent shows who talked about Diggs. It brought to light, with data, something that I was feeling, but couldn't put my finger on.

Diggs has lost the ability to separate down the field. To be fair he was never an elite speed guy, but the data shows that past 10 yds Diggs was not getting any separation, couldnt stack DB's, etc.

Long story short, the argument that Diggs was getting a ton of attention which opened the game up for everyone else down the stretch wasn't true. Sure there was the occasional missed throw by Josh, but that happens to every QB. He simply isn't the same guy he was when he came to Buffalo.

If Beane makes the right moves in FA and the Draft to bring in a young receiver, with speed, I believe Josh will play even better next year than this year.

He will put to bed all the arguments and the Bills will be improved on Offense.

we will only get better if Josh stops Constantly going for the homerun ball instead of the the 1st down period.

Living in LA I like this as it makes it easy to still follow his career as he was a fave of mine.  Cutting him was the right choice cap wise coming off 2 major leg injuries in 3 seasons, so get why we moved on and its what had to be done.  But still hope he comes back and has a strong finish to his career.  Good luck Tre, have fun here in LA!

And we play them in L A

That's certainly possible if there is a run on WR. Might also depend on whether Diggs was injured or not. They likely have a better idea than us why his numbers dropped.

If 2024 is his last year in Buffalo I have to believe they draft WR in the first round.

i'm sorry i don't want to be a putz but.. Diggs #'s dropped because we were spreading the ball around, plus badly thrown balls by josh!

Adoni mitchell ( spelled wrong) is gonna be great. after playing in alabama, georgia, texas, he is ready. i don't know anything about route running, but he is a pass catcher. he can high point the ball with the best of them! i live in austin so i see every game.  and i can't believe Worthy ran the fastest 40! they will be missed.

How much more of McD and his disastrous weak losses do we need to see.  Let's recap:

--13 seconds--but blame the ST coach.

    --meltdown against AZ

    --12 men

    --defensive meltdown against Giants

--failing to get past divisional round after making the AFCCG

AND THEN, JUST TODAY WITH THE SEASON ON THE LINE:

-- kneeling the ball with 20 seconds and 1 timeout.   You have Allen, Diggs, Kincaid, Davis (when he runs the right route) and Shakir.  Try to FG range.

--speaking of the 1 TO, it should have been two, but McD thinks icing the kicker (who was somewhat rushed) works.

--another defensive meltdown.  In fact, numerous in the 2nd half, leading to the OT meltdown.

But Pegs will do nothing.  Have fun selling tickets and merchandise Mr. Mediocracy.

    New name for McD.  McMediocracy.

Just chill..on ..brady..we played good 1st half..how many plays to Kincade in the 2nd half? 0..wtf

  6. I really don't think most people on this board see the big picture. Let's start with josh..Josh is always looking for the big play. It is in his dna. Dorsey knows this and calls plays accordingly. Diggs is a great player. But him wanting every ball puts pressure on Josh to look there 1st. By that time, it is too late to go with the 5-15 yd play, and take advantage of Josh's accuracy to put in tight balls. Dorsey, needs to put in plays that has no one going deep and take the 5-15 yd plays. Josh can go deep when the protection breaks down or we need a long completion for a 1st. Some good slants to the tight ends  would open up the run game cause the line backers would be off the line. When Josh has the time he goes to Gabe. We don't need another wr2. I'm sure Diggs just doesn't want to run a route to be a distraction, but if that is what it takes, that is what it takes. So.. if Dorsey would start calling better plays, we would win more games, which would keep Diggs happy, and not complain about limited catches. We have plenty of talent on the offense, the line is better this year. It is on the coaches to use the weapons we have in the proper manner. Mc D calling players on defense has been a lot better. Hopefully the line will keep the  pressure on to make up for the loss of trey and matt!

The Bills drafted running back Zack Moss in the 3rd round (86th overall) of the 2020 NFL Draft. At the time I liked the pick and thought of him as a good physical back. He flashed at times as a Bill but was mostly a disappointment partly because of his inability to stay healthy and partly because of his general ineffectiveness. He never seemed to resemble the player he was at Utah.

Finally last Halloween we traded him to the Colts for fellow running back Nyheim Hines. Besides swapping him for Hines, we acquired two physical runners (Damien Harris and Latavius Murray) to provide that ruggedness that Moss was supposed to bring us.

By the time he was shown the door he was pretty much a whipping boy for members of this forum. It hasn't been spoken of much around here but Moss has quietly resurrected his career.

Here are his stat lines from his last 5 regular season games with Indy:

Zack Moss last 5 Regular Season Games with the Colts
    Date ATT YDS YPC
    12/17/22 24 81 3.38
    12/26/22 12 65 5.42
    1/1/23 15 74 4.93
    1/8/23 18 114 6.33
    9/17/23 18 88 4.89
    AVERAGE 15.4 84.4 5.48

I'm curious if anyone here has any insights as to what has changed to make him a seemingly effective NFL running back. Health? Scheme? Also would you say his improvement has vindicated the Bills decision to draft him in the first place?

    A better line
