  1. Thanks guys! As per always, kudos go to Mark Weeks my "co-chef-in-arms".

At the tailgate, Mark does most of the cooking. At Bills Central, we split the chore.

I also want to add my recent disapointment with Duff's - they seem to be overcooking their wings something fierce making them too chewy. Wings should be crispy AND juicy (tender) such that the meat strips right off the the bones. I understand there has been a management change in the past year or so - it could be they are cutting corners somewhere.

What this means for me and my wife (RevNJoisy) is that we will be trying other establishments in the future for wings.

As we say at Bills Central...."Is it Sunday yet?"

  2. Kota,

Don't forget, Willis is REALLY a rookie. Few rookies make huge impacts their first year.

Plus, he has not FULLY recovered from his injury (not to mention he has been playing for weeks with a bad ankle on his previously-injured leg)

I am not sure what it will take for him to "impress you" . Perhaps you thought he should be like Barry Sanders?

Willis has shown skill at blocking, he has been o.k at receiving. he has been unexpectedly tough in crowds (pushing the pile) and - note this - players who have played against him this year have commented on "HOW DECEPTIVELY FAST HE IS".

His nagging injuries are my major concern. Hopefully, this will work itself out and he will have a long productive career.

BTW - a better comparison might be to think of Willis as the next Emmitt Smith but WITH SPEED. It will be VERY interesting to see if WIllis ends up better than Edgerrin James.

  3. All you Future Hummer II purchasers, be aware that, according to an AP Report,"Federal Regulators are investigating the Hummer H2 after receiving three reports of WHEELS FALLING OFF the vehicle (!) the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said yesterday. Involved in the investigation are Hummer H2s from 2003 and 2004 model years. GMC said there are approximately 59,670 of those on the road"

(getting great gas mileage no doubt).

Four drivers reported a "fracture in the steering knuckle , which allows the wheels to turn. All four reported they lost control of their Hummers. In three of the four cases, a wheel fell off.

    **************

Last year, AAA reviewed the Hummer H2 and they always list the three top reason customers liked it and the three top reasons customers disliked it (these were people who bought the vehicle). The top three were what one would expect...."felt Safe", "Could see well in traffic" and "good hauler". The bottom three had two expected and one very unexpected comment. See if you can pick out the unexpected comment,

    1.) Poor gas mileage

2.) Hard to get in/ get out of

    3.) Handled poorly on pavement

  4. Certainly the Bengals game appears to be the hardest bump in the road before Pittsburgh but

    1.) let's get by Cleveland first <_<

2.) The bengals SHOULD lose this week to the Patriots which would effectively knock them out of the playoff hunt. Although a spoiler role is a powerful incentive, having the chance to make the playoffs is more powerful. So, (gulp), go Patriots!

and (ugh), Go Dolphins! (vs Denver)

    and (bleah) Go Pittsburgh (Jets)

and (ehh, o.k.) Go Giants! (Baltimore) - hey, if they can blow a 17 point lead at home to the Bengals, then anything can happen to them IMO.

    oh, and Go Bears! (Jacksonville)

  5. Tasker has to struggle to say anything good about Buffalo. he's just like MacGuire used to be before he "earned" the right to be a Bills Homer.

Criqui was awful again for the 2nd week in a row. At least he didn't mix up McGahee and Henry this time.

It didn't help that the stats guys in the booth kept getting the down and distance wrong PLUS at one point they had David Boston as a RB on the Bills.

I wish I were kidding........What a guy! he got a 1st down for us yesterday. Didn't you all know that? ;)

  6. I figured 'seldom' was about right. I'll bet it was a blast. If I could, I'd try to get up there for another game this year. How many more before I can become an honorary member of the CNJBBB? Hahaha!!!

Just say the word, and we'll put your name down on our website as an honorary member.

But, it will cost you TWICE what the usual fee is

    2 X zero = .....hmmmmmm

  7. QUOTE(richNjoisy @ Dec 1 2004, 11:07 AM)

You are correct sir. When it happened I pointed this out to the entire Central NJ Backer Crew.

There was a (brief) moment of reverent silence.

I noted the time and date.

Since when does 'Central NJ Bills Backers' and 'silence' ever go together?

How many footballs were tossed at the screen at Shaun Alexander?

    Answer to question 1: Seldom

Answer to question 2: Zero but many -a -barb was thrown at announcer Don Criqui (sp?) for his inane and stupid/lost comments. The man appears to be close to being brain-dead. And when will tasker get high enough in the ranks to feel safe making "nice" comments about the Bills. In his defense, Paul MacGurie was like that for years until he became "famous" enough so that he could harp on for hours about his beloved Bills.

  8. FULL recovery from an ACL tear takes about 2 years. He is already ahead of schedule He, himself, has said he's about 95% back.

Plus, remember in essense this kid is a rookie. Almost every RB - even one coming from college fully healthy - has his best years in years 3,4,5 etc.

For a rookie, coming off such a major injury, I'd say he's doin' ok.

    At least...a little bit...

Matt Hasselbeck's charley horse on his right thigh is not getting better and head coach Mike Holmgren is not sure he will be back on Sunday. "I am scratching my head at this injury. (Team trainers) assured me that they are going full-speed ahead, and they're exhausting all modern medical science to try and get this thing fixed," Holmgren told the Sun. "This is the most serious charley horse in the history of charley horses." Hasselbeck missed last week's game because of the charley horse, which he suffered in week ten against the Rams.

Views: We couldn't find any books about the history of charley horses so we believe Holmgren that is the most serious one ever. How else can it be explained that Hasselbeck may have to miss two games because of it? He was downgraded to questionable on the injury report at the end of last week and will probably start this week with same designation. Once he practices then Hasselbeck owners can feel safe putting him back into the lineup and he has to practice soon because a professional football player can't miss two weeks due to a charley horse, right?

    *******************

I also just read a report that Seattle is trying out punters this week - their current punter is averaging just 38 yards after winning the starting job the past four weeks (source: KFFL)

Sooooo, if the Bills could just find a way to score. We can't have another special teams score....right right?

    Beuller?

  10. The espn "experts" - 4 out of 5 of them - are picking the Bills.

Given that we are 6 point underdogs, I see this as a good sign.

    (why not?)

Note that Boller has already fumbled four times in only five games.

    Swipe at that ball Buffalo!
