  1. I am not in at all. He turns the D over to Thurman, and they perform. They get an OC that can get plays in timely, and the O performs. In other words, Rex gets the H311 out of the way and the team performs. I maintain that RR is an unmitigated arrogant blowhard who couldn't coach his way out of a wet paper bag, and the sooner he is gone the better this team will be!!!

    Go Bills!!!!

Damn him for recognizing that he needed to do that! I wish he could get out of his own way and give playcalling over to his coordinators!

You do realize that this is what a good HC does right?

You guys are right....Good HC's really do nothing but get out of the way...they are figure heads not real leaders. In that case, we have the master of masters of HC's!!!!!

  3. People, the season just started. The Bills will get Dareus, Sh. Lawson, S. Henderson, and M. Easley back very soon. Help is on the way.

So I guess all we needed was Lawson last year to make the playoffs....We had the others. I am just waiting with baited breath for these four to join roster....That was not an earthquake you just felt, it was BeliCheat shaking in his boots!!!!

  4. I remember stories about him doing magic tricks in the Bills locker room years ago.

I also remember 30+ years ago taking a pretty young blonde to dinner at the Forks Hotel on the corner of Broadway and Union in Cheektowaga where some very talented magicians would rotate from table to table doing some pretty fantastic things.

    What a great story!!!

I remember the Forks!!! It was an awesome evening out!!! Magicians would travel from across the country to meet other magicians to practice and learn from each other. Is it still there?

  5. So what if you gave him a chance?

He played lights out all season and went to the Pro Bowl

    Pay the man.

Dont be cheap and expect a discount just because you gave him a chance.

Yes you gave him a chance and he rewarded you with a Pro Bowl season

    CBF

Absolutely Agree!!! He earned his money and owes the Bills nothing. If the Bills wanted to avoid this situation, they should have found a way to have an option to execute...sour grapes on the Bills part.

I would say he is worth $6M a year but the Bills can only afford $5M

If this be the case, then why not execute a contract for a longer term that guarantees him the more money without killing the cap? I hate to see him go - I hated to see him go the first time.

  6. Over: Talley

    Under: Schobel, Cribbs

Underrated by management: Winfield, Pat Williams

Aaron Schobel is my most overrated. Took more plays off than Mario Williams, and was best known for insignificant sacks...Aaron Shoebel's greatest skill was padding his stats to make himself look good - I was happy to see him retire!!!

Talley Overratted.....Really????? Well anyone who would list Shoebel as underratted, why should I be surprised about Talley!!!!

Some great choices around the board for underrated: Cowert, Hansen, Byrd - I'd add Robert James. He was the best bump and run defender in the league. Today, he'd epitomize a shut down corner.

  7. By not hiring Schwartz as the head coach the owners made it clear that keeping him was secondary.

So is the consensus now that Rex Ryan can't coach defense? Really?

I trust Rex to fix the defense. A year ago every commentator said he knows defense but his problem is that his offenses stink. Now suddenly Rex Ryan forgot how to coach NFL defense.

Then you are a FOOL!!! I don't trust Rex Ryan as far as I could throw has fatA$$ brother!! RR is an arrogant blowhard with a proven track record as a looser. Rob maintains the twin consistency. While Schwartz was still available, I would have been strongly in favor in firing Rex, Hiring Schwartz as HC bringing back his defense, and keeping Roman as OC. The biggest mistake was hiring Ryan to begin with....A close second was keeping him on for 2016.

  8. Excellent article Yolo, and I would agree with the writer that he's being paid way to much to be a 2 gap NT. I would love to see him cut loose to get after the quarterback next season. Not sure why Rex is so stubborn that he believes his system is better than the players that he has.

The tape doesn't lie...Rex knows all!! MD needs to be dropping back in coverage!!!!

  9. Bradham's situation is a tough call. Do you pay a street guy who is proven in a system like Rex's or do you pay Bradham with the hope that his ceiling is higher than them?

I loved watching him play last year. This year, not so much.

I think the point is - It doesn't matter who we have where on defense. The Ryan (Now Ryans') scheme turned a high-ranking defense into a mediocre defense. Dunne hit the nail on the head - If Ryans don't listen to the players (players who have demonstrated their abilities) and form a defense that meets their abilities, I don't care if you find a defense made up of Bruce Smith, Reggie White, Cornelius Bennett, LT, Jack Lambert, (I think you catch my drift), they will fail again. The problem was not the players, it was the scheme!!! As I have said before, RR is an arrogant blowhard - his brother is no different.

  10. From the beginning, I took a wait and see / benefit of the doubt when it came to Rex Ryan. I was at the KC game. It was then that the benefit of the doubt in my view was removed. My concern with RR from the start was the defense - regression to the mean or whatever, why fix what was not broken??? We are not talking of a drop in productivity, we are talking about a top 5 defense and turning it into a mediocre defense. RR is an arrogant blowhard. I know this will not happen, but I would like to see Ryan Fired, Schwartz hired and HC, and Roman retained as OC. Ryan is looser!!!!

  11. According to Collision Low Crossers, Rex was intimately involved in the D in New York and I imagine it's the same here.

Thurman runs practices and certainly has input. But Rex is the de facto DC.

Schwartz was offered a job by Rex but turned it down because he wants to be an independent DC running his own show. He didn't want to have a vague title to help with Rex's show.

Rex won't give up his defensive philosophy (he's had good success with it over the years) and Schwartz won't give up his. I can't see the two working together.

This is exactly what bothered me from the very beginning about Rex Ryan and stated so in early threads. Schwartz demonstrated tremendous success in 2014, but Ryan stated from the very start that he was going to fix what was not broken. I saw that as a huge mistake, but gave him the benefit of the doubt. Now hearing what the defense is saying on top of the total lack of results, I am deeply concerned about the direction.

  12. So, there we have it. Deal was struck. Whaley said he'll allow Tyrod starting over EJ if Rex agrees to cut Freddy for Bryce Brown. Seeing that the starting QB is the most important player on the team, Rex begrudgingly agreed to it.

Now, Whaley gets to keep his little pet RB on the roster, Rex gets his starting QB, and they both feel like they won something. Meanwhile, Daddy Pegula is happy to see his children getting along.

My God - I hope you are wrong...There is no good reason for cutting Fred over Brown, but this would be horrible.

    (BTW - Love The Flag!!!)

  13. Darius wasn't speeding.....There was a severe low pressure system that day in the Western New York area that caused a decrease in the pressure in his tires resulting in the tires overall diameter shrinking. With the smaller diameter, the wheels would rotate faster than normal, but the actual speed of the vehicle would not increase.

It was strictly a rare atmospheric phenomenon, extremely localized, that only affected his tires.
