  1. Arthur Moats

    LB #52 Height: 6-2 Weight: 250 Age: 22

College: James Madison Hometown: Portsmouth, Virginia

I really like this guy. I'll be honest, it's mainly because he made a big forced fumble one time in my Madden franchise - but that's not the point. The point is Arthur Moats is awesome! Here are some quick facts:

    •
    • Moats played his college ball at James Madison, a division I-AA school.

    • Moats won the Buck Buchanan award, given to the most outstanding defensive player in all of I-AA football. He also won Colonial Athletic Association Defensive Player of the Year.

    • Moats actually played defensive end in college in a 4-3 scheme. Most college DEs that are drafted to play in a 3-4 move to OLB, but the Bills are actually working Moats at ILB, which is unusual.

    • Moats racked up 11 sacks and 23.5 tackles for loss in his senior year.

    • Here is a good scouting report on Moats: http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/players/1277382

He seems like a genuinely nice person. He already ran a free football camp for kids in his hometown.

Here's a short video clip to introduce you to Arthur Moats:

  2. Heaven forbid anyone SUPPORTS their FAVORITE TEAM'S STARTING QB. That should be against the law.

Well there are 32 NFL teams, and someone has the best QB and someone has the worst QB. Obviously QB is a very very important position on the team.

When your team clearly has one of the five worst QBs, maybe it's time to stop supporting him and look to the organization to upgrade this crucial position.

  3. The funny part is that all the Bills apologists on this board that say things like "OMG we are going to beat the Pack for real!!!" are definitely not going to put their money where their mouth is and bet on the game and collect their free money. Somewhere inside they know the truth.

  4. Ive asked this 1,000 times. Name me a receiver that had a great stats year with a bad QB?

Last year Brandon Marshall had a good season (over 1000 yards and 10 TDs). Steve Smith and Santana Moss both almost hit 1000 yards last year - much better than Lee did. There will be guys on teams with bad QBs that outperform Lee this year as well.

    ---

I don't think trying to turn CJ Spiller into a wide receiver is a good idea, btw.

  5. Lee Evans is a good receiver, and any team would be happy to add him to their receiving corps. The knock on him is that he is more of a specialized deep ball threat than the complete package. He has great speed, and is surprisingly good in jump ball situations despite his height, making some spectacular long ball catches. However, he's not a big physical presence for short and medium yardage passing, and when he does catch a short pass he doesn't show top elusiveness and the ability to break bunch of tackles for a big gain. Every receiver is going to have their strengths and their weaknesses, though.

To get a better if Lee is a true #1, we can list receivers that are clearly better than Evans for this particular season (without regard to future potential, etc.) and see how many their are. I'm sure I'm forgetting some guys, and I also just quickly lumped these guys into the two categories so I'm sure some rankings are debatable. Obviously some of these guys play in the slot or whatever, I'm just looking to get a baseline ranking for receiver quality. These are listed in no particular order.

    Definitely Better than Lee Evans

    Andre Johnson

    Randy Moss

    Calvin Johnson

    Miles Austin

    Roddy White

    Larry Fitzgerald

    Greg Jennings

    Reggie Wayne

    Marques Colston

    Brandon Marshall

    Anquan Boldin

    Michael Crabtree

    Chad Ochocinco

    Sidney Rice

    Wes Welker

    On Par with Lee Evans

    Santonio Holmes

    Dwayne Bowe

    Vincent Jackson

    Steve Smith

    Jeremy Maclin

    DeSean Jackson

    Hakeen Nix

    Steve Smith

    Percy Harvin

    Terrell Owens

    Santana Moss

    Johnny Knox

    Pierre Garcon

    Mike Wallace

    Mike Williams

    Donald Driver

So by my estimate, I have him roughly somewhere between the 16th and 32nd best receiver in the league. I don't know, maybe I'm being a little generous here, what do you guys thinks? Anyways, in conclusion:

Lee Evans is probably a #1 caliber NFL receiver, albeit a below average one.

  6. It's pretty obvious to everyone except you that I am not HARCO.

The mods can easily do an IP check and see that we are different people.

You just have a personal problem with me, and are acting like a child having a temper tantrum.

Just let it go and stop derailing your own thread, this is supposed to be about the Bills DBs, not about me!

  7. Chan is an offensive innovator and outside the box thinker. Perhaps the Bills should really shake things up, and utilize the strength of their team (running backs) in more wildcat type formations.

In fact, maybe the Bills should be the first team to completely eliminate the quarterback position from their offense.

Chan could really create a name for himself and a legacy in the game. It sounds crazy, but then again if you think about it, the wildcat formation itself sounds kind of crazy. How can you effectively run the ball if you don't have a quarterback in there? I don't know, but with the extra blocker it provides teams do it all the time out of the wildcat.

I want to see Jackson running the option to Spiller! Or some sort of triple option with Lynch going inside, Jackson running outside, and Spiller using a WR reverse type of motion. Instead of Wildcat, they could call it the Triple Bison or the Thundering Buffalo or something.

Also, don't forget which player has the best arm on the team:

Okay maybe completely removing the QB is a litte far fetched, but I would like to see them try some more Triple Bison packages.

  8.

I don't know what kind of explanation you are looking for. He's probably just one of many people who doesn't appreciate you trashing me all the time. Like I said, if you don't believe me you can feel free to get the mods involved. Just be careful you don't get yourself banned, because you have trolled me and called me names in many different threads at this point and it's too late to delete those posts now.
