THE AUTOMOBILE, far & away had the biggest impact of all time!
It was a global phenominon (sorry for the spelling) that's still going on today. It impacted on our society on many, many, fronts.
It impacted on the steel industry, the oil industry, commercial farming as well as private farming, road construction, the hotel
and motel busineses, tourism, even the fast food business. The list goes on and on, longer than I have the time to post on this
topic. That machine provided millions and millions of jobs for a lot of people.

Haven't quite scratched the Graham Gouldman itch. He wrote 3 seminal hits for the Yardbirds: Evil Hearted You, Heart Full Of Soul and this one:
And one that might have been, but Jeff Beck took it solo:
Rolonzo, if you like Jeff Beck (God rest his soul) Buy the Jeff Beck "Truth" disk from the album he produced back in 1969. Rod Stewart
did the vocals with Ron Wood on bass. The album was given to me from a guy that roomed next to me in 1971 when I was in the the
Air Force. I played Led Zepplin so much, he thought that I'd like Jeff Beck as well. Boy, was he right!! Check out the Truth album, if you
haven't done it already. Rest in peace, Jeff! (PS: the song "Beck's Bolero" really rocks!!)

My God, what a great thread!!!! I went through high school in the 60's and these songs I remember dearly.
It was a "fast" decade because so many things were changing & the rock music was at the head of those changes.
Rebellion was the thing. I grew up in Western NY so naturally, I'm a Bills fan. But, for my senior year in baseball,
I painted my spikes white as a tribute to the rebellious Joe Namath. Go Bills!!!!

There are so many, but given that no one has chosen this one, I will go with Cream's Born under a Bad Sign (originally an Albert King song), which I always have thought aptly describes what it is like to be a Buffalo fan:
"Born Under A Bad Sign"
Born under a bad sign.
I've been down since I began to crawl.
If it wasn't for bad luck,
I wouldn't have no luck at all.
Bad luck and trouble's my only friend,
I've been down ever since I was ten.
Born under a bad sign.
I've been down since I began to crawl.
If it wasn't for bad luck,
I wouldn't have no luck at all.
You know, wine and women is all I crave.
A big bad woman's gonna carry me to my grave.
Born under a bad sign.
I've been down since I began to crawl.
If it wasn't for bad luck,
I wouldn't have no luck at all.
Bad luck and trouble's been my only friend,
I've been down ever since I was ten.
Born under a bad sign.
I've been down since I began to crawl.
If it wasn't for bad luck,
I wouldn't have no luck.
If it wasn't for real bad luck,
I wouldn't have no luck at all.
Born under a bad sign.
Born under a bad sign.Great choice!!! Going with a true blues song by Albert King done by Cream. I Like the bules tribute!!

For me, right now, I'm going with Heroes by the Wall Flowers. Flame away my fellow fans.

In short, I'm starting to think that coach McD and staff and the front office is good at getting the Bills into the playoffs, but can't get
the Bills to the Super Bowl, let alone win it. FWIW, that's my 2 cents.

It's the curse of the Edmond Fitzgerald.

I mean over a damn football game? Too much youth that has no damn discipline, and grew up in fantasy land playing COD, that think its ok to pull a weapon and start shooting.
Got that right SBF. This "gun happy" country, where FAR too many people have access to firearms and therefore, they think that the only justice
when they don't like something/or somebody, then that's a just reason that they should be shot. Sick! It's very sick!

I got a chunk of coal in my stocking with the face of Hank Bullouch painted on it. (Not sure if I spelled his name right, but who cares.)

We have had our blood letting. Time to move on. How badly will the Blills beat the Jets this week?
Roger that, Chaos.

A very good opening to the thread, Hoof Hearted. For whatever it's worth, I say lets (meaning, the players) regroup, support one another fiercely,
work harder in practice, and bring a new intensity level onto the playing field come Sunday and expect to win.
FWIW, that's my 2 cents. Go Bills!

My wife & I will be having Buffalo wings and leftover Halloween candy. Go Bills!!!

I'm going with 11-6 but obviously hoping for better. The division is going to be genuinely challenging, and it's pretty obvious that teams had us figured out after the bye week or so last year. I need to see that we've learned from last season before I get too excited.
BFSD, good analysis in my opinion, especially the last sentence. Go Bills!

I was right!! Wow.
Saban was beside himself about allowing the Fins to drive for a TD in 56 seconds...can't imagine how he'd feel about 13 seconds...
So true, Rubes, especially about the 13 seconds.

The other day, something reminded me of that old Lou Saban half time speech that NFL Films used to showed: "You can get it done. You can
get it done. What's worse, you GOTTA get it done!!!
What team were the Bills playing and, did the Bills "get it done" and win that game?

RIP... no more morning dew.
That was the album that made me a lifetime fan! Back in the day, that album was Given to me by a guy that was in the next room from me
in the barracks when I was in the Air Force. I was playing lots of Led Zepplin back in 1971 & he thought I'd like Beck's "Truth" album.
Boy, was he right. I still play it from time to time.
