I feel a need to be reassured by the board.  I get a creeping fear - which can only be based on some weird, deep-seated prejudice -- that Cole Bishop may well lack the toughness to be an NFL strong safety.  Maybe he looks a little bit too much like a choirboy.  Maybe he is too handsome and I am secretly jealous.  I am 100% rooting for him.  I know he has the height, weight and speed.  But I look at him and think "likely to be scheme sound."  No, please!  I want to look at him and say "geez, I would sure hate to be a running back and see that animal flying downhill at me.  Snot flying, drool dripping, that dude is going to wreck someone."  I want to think - wide receiver over the middle?  Not worried about it, Bishop will get there and lay the MoFo out.  They may complete one, but it will be VERY expensive for them.

Tell me I am stupid, a hater or just off base.  I really liked the pick when they made it, I am hoping he grows into a silent assassin on the back-end.  Even if he is scheme sound too (and I know he wasn't always that last year either).  Let's go Cole - cheering for you, and want to feel stupid for doubting you.  I may have to buy a Bishop jersey just to exorcise my doubts.  Thoughts?

Chris Spielman had one good season here.

    Totally agree!

He would probably be my top choice!!!

On the flipside, would be Billy Joe Hobert who publicly admitted to not learning the playbook as a QB who was needed to play.
The Bills released him soon after.

I live in Cincinnati and have to live with their smug fans. Ever since they got Burrow, they have this "us against the world" attitude. I was hoping that Mike Brown's finances would finally break that up, but instead I have to listen to Duke Tobin's "get your own" crap for years to come. Remember that "get your refunds" BS? I hate Burrow's smug baby face on every billboard in town. Did you know that he's "not just your average Joe?" Because Kroger tells you that from every highway in town. I hate that every person in town walks around in ugly orange shirts with tiger stripes.

One of the best posts ever!

Maybe it's me just being old school, but I miss LB numbers in the 50's.  I know you still see them, but they are not nearly as popular as they once were with players.  I mean, 8 will be fine for him, but I am still one of the few that like to see LBs in the 50s, WRs in the 80s, OL in the 60s, DL in the 90s, and CB in the 20s.  I will say I don't mind WRs and RBs in the single digits, but it's nice to see a throwback once in a while as well.  Like Hoecht taking 55.....perfect.

I have to agree LB’s in the 50’s were the best!!!

The the 60’s came and it was all about the OL.

    70’s not so much

Now the WR’s in the 80’s were the best …almost as good as the music.  THAT level of good!

The 90’s were ALL about the DL.

    Look it up!

    🤦‍♂️😮🤣

You could kind of see this coming. Engram was obviously hurt a lot last year but even after he got healthy he was splitting a lot of time with Brenton Strange which I found unusual since he was such a threat in their offense the year before

    Unusual or strange???

    1 Kelly*

    2-10 Allen**

    * Got to four superbowls

** Ask again when he's retired

So using this moronic logic, Doug Williams, Jim Plunkett, and Jeff Hostetler would all be better QB’s then Kelly and Allen.

Love your hot take.  Keep ‘em coming

Erggghhh...Vrabel was playing for the Steelers in 1999, not coaching the Titans.

He made a scumbag move, actually several as a coach of the Texans.

Additionally and I thought more people were aware but the Patsies  are projected to have the most cap space in the NFL, with $131MM. They can sign most any free agents they want.  That’s one big reason for my concern…

    Good coach

A tom of $$$ to spend

And thankfully the #4 pick in each round vs #1 b/c of us

All Im saying is 2026-2027 is they have a TON of potential

  8. Below is the 2025 Patriots coaching staff.

Personally I feel like they will be very competitive in 2026 and 2027

Loads of cap space for free agents, picking 4th in every round this year and an

Excellent IMHO head coach - Whom I hate for his OBVIOUS music city ‘miracle’ kickoff lateral a few years back in TN.

And now they have both Josh (I’ve learned how to cheat from the best) Daniels along with Everyone’s Fav Saint Doug.

The rivalry is (soon to be) back.  Should be better than the Jests and likely better than the Phins before long.  Bring it Patsies!

    The 2025 Patriots coaching staff:

    Mike Vrabel: Head Coach
    Josh McDaniels: Offensive Coordinator
Thomas Brown: Tight Ends/Passing Game Coordinator
    Doug Marrone: Offensive Line
    Jason Houghtaling: Assistant Offensive Line
    Robert Kugler: Assistant Offensive Line
    Todd Downing: Wide Receivers
    Tony Dews: Running Backs
    Ashton Grant: Quarterbacks
    Riley Larkin: Offensive Assistant
    Chuckie Keeton: Offensive Assistant

Seems to be, the Achilles heel of McD is Clock management.

"The head coach is responsible for managing the clock in the NFL to maximize a team's chances of winning or tying the game in regulation. Clock management is a significant part of the game, not just in the final moments. ".

That being said, would it not be wise for Beane to hire a clock management specialist?

Maybe he can't think that fast on his feet?

The other foot - errr achilles called and is pissed at the OP!

If is not a mishap. According to the NFL at the link I posted above:

"Each NFL team is guaranteed to play a home game at an international site every eight seasons"

So everyone has to do their duty.

So far we’ve been F’d over so let’s just agree to disagree. It’s about his fair and balanced as Fox News (whoops, did I go there?).
For all we know by the time we get to the year 7 and its KC’s turn to have 7 home games like us 🤬🤬, they’ll add an 18th game.

I do hear what you’re saying that on paper it’s designed to be equal.  But we’ve been screwed over so far and that’s a fact!

I DEEPLY hope we don’t have to give up another home game. In the history of the 17-game schedule, we have:

    -9 road games

-8 home games, plus a “home” game against a Jaguars team that had spent the whole week in London and plays there every year

    -9 road games (this year)

If I’m Pegula, I’m screaming at the league office that we need to actually benefit from the unbalanced schedule at some point.

    Thank You!

I’ve been seeing this forever and hardly anyone is even aware of this mishap!
