Marrone didn't fumble a ball out of the end zone. Marrone didn't fumble a punt on the 25. Marrone didn't fail to see a wide open Hogan on 3rddown. Scwartz did fail to design contain on 4th and one. This one isn't on Marrone or Hackett. Too many mind numbing mistakes by the players. The defense brought it as usual. Jim Schwartz and his players are kicking ass. Holding a very smart QB and Jamaal Charles to 17 points should be enough to win.
Those of us who cautioned that Marrone / Hackett were getting lucky and flying by the seat of their pants looked awful right this week. And that sucks, because this game was super-winnable.
Leodis deserves two big X's for today, but points were left on the board by this offense more than once.
This coach is wasting a pretty good team.

Yes. I didn't read past the the Thread title and figure I have a 50/50 chance. I am also a glass half empty kinda guy when it comes to the human condition. What did I win?

Also see "The Drunkard's Walk: How Randomness Rules our Lives." Support your thesis as well.Is this the book you are talking about The Frankish Reich? If so I may have to order a copy, it sounds interesting.
Fooled by Randomness : The Hidden Role of Chance in Life and in the Markets by Nassim Nicholas Taleb (2001, Hardcover)

Peters isn't even in the team picture with Anthony Munoz. Watt maybe but lets see longevity. The league is watered down so most of the players today aren't as versatile and are more specialists. Watt is a throwback to the play anywhere era. Brady, Manning and Rogers is in the team photo. His gamefilm is almost a how to video

Maybe if MW could play ST's like Fredex, CJ, Woods, McLuvin and other starters, he wouldn't have been deactivated.

When you spend 1.4b you can "install" or hire any "cronies" or management personnel you like. The Bills are not a public asset, they are privately owned enterprise. As for the Sabres, they tore down an antiquated vestige of a franchise to rebuild it for long term success. This infuriates the lunch pail crowd that yearns for second tier fa's to make a run at the final playoff spot. But the big picture is that everyone in the NHL sees the upward trend continuing. Hardly an epic fail.I read this a I'm thinking this must be some kind of dream. That part on how to best separate the business side from the football side? Pure genius. Then I kept going and saw how he did the same with the Sabres. And that was basically an epic fail. Unless he brings in someone like Holmgren or Parcells, people shouldn't think this article means anything more than Pegula is trying to pick his best cronies to install at One Bills Drive. He did it with the Sabres, he'll do it with the Bills.

:-)Wait, can one owner use the official colors of teams from two different leagues in a communication with the same fan base? Get legal on the phone.

The ownership is for estate planning reasons. Marital property with right of survivorship passes to the spouse without estate tax penalty. Kim was a PR specialist, she is very comfortable in most situations and from friends that worked with her she is very, very bright. The Dragon Lady is one to reckon with.I don't know this but my impression is that she is uncomfortable in the public spotlight, and talking in that situation. I know several people, who are very comfortable in meetings and in pressure situations but completely uncomfortable in front of cameras or large groups. She probably just doesn't like it.
For his part, Terry said at least once, that she was "part" owner instead of co-owner as in 50%, as well as said it was a private matter what that percentage was. I'm thinking, but do not know, that if it were 50-50 he would have said that.

He may be but his wife is true blue WNY. As for Detroit, Deluca may also be referring to the fact that he covets the success of the Red Wings and wants that to be the model for the Sabres. He is a hockey guy first and foremost. I think the Kraft references are along a similar vein. If you to be the best that is a good model to follow.I honestly don't know how someone could be a true Buffalo Bills fan and not hate the Dolphins, really, really dislike the Jets, and absolutely detest the Patriots. The Jets really haven't ever been the threat of the other two teams, and have been a mostly a joke for a long time.
From what I heard he was a Detroit Lions fan, and his children still are.

Based on his Sabres record, he is not motivated by rivalry but rather by excellence. He wants to collect trophies; Stanley Cups Lombardis, Nobels. Doesn't matter, "show me the iron!"Was a tad disappointed when he was asked about patriots this Sunday he didn't have the hatred we all have of the cheaters and fired up to beat them like a clown

Their Xmas card this year will be priceless "Since last year we added A football team, and some very large mammals."
-
I wonder how many times he asked "Are you sure you can't skate? Willing to give it a try?"
-
"Terry hold on a second. Gentlemen, as you know we also own the Sabres and I have made it my personal goal to get to know the families of all our Sabres players and make sure that being a member of our organization is something that other players aspire to. We plan on doing the same with the Bills. We paid a hefty some for this franchise but actually were willing to pay 2-3 million more. So that leaves us with the ability assist in providing the resources to make this franchise and its players successful. You know things like fines, stipends while on suspension , and college funds for your kids in the event of banishment from the league. We are all about family. Oh and what he said."

Hello I'm Terry. This is Kim, your new boss. My Mr Dareus you are a large mammal, can you skate? Oh, and if you don't lay the wood on Marcia, the Dragon Lady here will lay it on you. Have a nice day

Can he play guard?

I believe in the case of a starting QB, having a wider repertoire of throws is important in that eventually opposing defenses will determine which areas of the field it does not need to defend or in the alternative force the QB into his least comfortable option. When that happens the probability of success lessens. Again, I advocate for no option at this time but rather point out that if Orton plays to his average stats, many will not see him as a long term option in the days of a "QB driven league." PS: I believe that QB driven league is pablum served to the masses raised on Madden and FFL. Strong D measured on points allowed and a strong running/possession game can still win championships i.e. Seattle, Ravens.Every one who we bring in to usurp or guy. (Insert name) can make all the throws. That is such a cliche. Yeah I'm a basketball guy. BUT I know enough to know that that is not something to marvel over. I was talking to the skycap one day about this. Why should that be something to harp on. Should we praise a pilot who can land a plane. A singer who can hit a C note? If you have perfected you're craft to get to the league. You are expected to be able to atleast be adequate. Maybe Orton can hit every pass. But will he? If EJ grew a set and developed a true IDGAF attitude are we sure... 1000% sure he can't do it? I'm really not. And not a critique of others but can we beat someone who doesn't hand us the game before we decide to talk about long term solutions?
-
The Bears team he played on were also very talented especially on d. Just wait and the answer will be obvious. Contrary to what people want to believe, he can't make all the throws. They end up going the other way. He is what his stats say he is. Can we win with him? Maybe, but eventually his numbers will catch up with him. I am not advocating for anyone, just pointing out that in his case the numbers don't lie. He is average.JR, I hear you but that ignores this is a much more talented team than he played on in the past. I used to watch Chicago, and Denver games. There are more weapons, and a significantly better defense.
I'm not making a bust for him in canton, but let's just see. If he gets his sea legs about him with this team, and does well this year, I'm fine with drafting a QB again and keep working with him.
I believe there is a chance he is our Alex Smith. That is a compliment as Alex is a solid NFL QB.
Note to Marrone: Your an ex NFL Lineman and coach. Fix the damn Guard situation so our running game is fixed. And oh, by the way, stop putting Spiller in as a every down running back. I was so pissed at that pathetic attempt for a block when Orton was sacked. That is completely unacceptable.
