  1. If we didn't need 3 RBs, why did we pick one with the #9 pick in the draft when we could have taken something we need? That's what burns me about this trade. ML and FJ are both really good backs. And McKelvin and McGee can run back kicks too.

My prediction for ML in 2010: 1200 yards and 12 TDs.

The wife and I are Seahawks season ticket holders so I'm really looking forward to seeing ML be used properly. Great for the Hawks. Bills - suckers.

Lynch wanted out and Fred is 29. Spiller has the potential to be a premier playmaker in this league and Lynch got beat out by Jackson last year. It would not have been my first choice at #9 but I see the need for playmakers in this league.

BTW, Seattle line is not blowing folks off the line either. Forsett's avg is down over a yard per carry. Have fun being a Seahawk fan. Us suckers don't need you.

  2. Goodbye to all the quitter fans and players who want out of Buffalo. The only way this team will turn around is to find a core of players committed to the goal of winning in Buffalo and build around them. Lynch was not going to be one of those guys. Goodbye! Kelsay wouldn't be my first choice for my starting OLB but, if he's dedicated to the Bills, I'll take him over a more talented guy who takes every opportunity he has to say he wants out of Buffalo. One key to performance is attitude. If you come in with a bad attitude, you will get discouraged at the first sign of adversity. This team is going to face adversity and we need a core of "Buffalo or Bust" players to get through the current (seemingly continuous) rebuilding phase.

  3. MaGahee wanted out, goodbye. Lynch wanted out, goodbye. Fred wants to be here! Spiller wants to be here! Those are the people you build around. People who are willing to take on the challenge of helping to turn a down team around instead of looking for a way out at the first sign of adversity. This team needs to find a core of players to build around. Hopefully, Nix/Gailey are in the process of weeding out those players that have no desire of being in that core group.

  4. Image doesn't matter. Committment to winning and dedication to this team matters.

  5. Trent was a low 3rd round pick!! Why are we/did we give him chances like he was a #1 pick??? He fell that low for a reason!! Fitz is a better choice right now. Edwards should be gone next year if not sooner.

We have 2-3 playmakers on offense (evans, spiller, and take your pick of fred, lynch and parrish (none are consistent)) We're looking at least 1 more year of poor offense unless the Bills really mine some talent in the later rounds next year or spend money they don't have in FA. The spiller pick was better than many think if you take a long range view but it's going to hurt in the short term. In Buddy we trust (for now).

  6. Has he truly had the opportunity to "prove" himself yet? Why take a chance on a guy like Brohm who was a second round pick, only to be let go by the team that drafted him?

Yes! He started 11 games in 2006, 5 in 2007, 1 in 2009. Ken Whisenhunt has been the HC since 2007 so he's been in the same system for 3 seasons. Going into this year, his head coach does not believe he has the qualities necessary to get the team to where he wants it to go. That's pretty damning evidence. Efficiency in preseason does not tell the whole story. His coach does do not see the big play potential he wants to see. That's what we have been killing the Bills' QBs for all along. Why would we invite another QB into this situation with that reputation?

Brohm never started for his team and he was brought in to compete. He hasn't stepped up yet and may never do so.

A 7th round pick can be valuable in this league if your F.O. is good at evaluating talent. We are talking about an undrafted rookie (Nelson) making our team. Obviously, that means a 7th rounder could contribute significantly to a team. It's not always the case but it's possible. I just see Leinart as a lateral move at QB. Why waste any draft pick on a guy who's no better than the guys we have?

  7. No one knows a player better than their own team and coaches. That means not only how they play but how their team responds to them. By listening to Wisenhunt's comments, Leinhart does not inspire confidence of his coaches or teammates. We need a strong leader in Buffalo and Matt would not be that IMO!

  8. I know he's talented but he has worn out his welcome in BUF. How long do you think he would be content as a backup to Freddie. I say get what you can for him and pick up another back either through FA or the draft.

I see you are a fan of his. I actually am too but unless the new coaches find a better way to use him, he will be screaming to get out. And another year of sitting behind Freddie will not make him more valuable to anyone. I say we trade him before it becomes another Magahee situation.

My comment about him wearing out his welcome comes from his several off the field incidents that led to his suspension and, consequently, his "bad season". Another incident and we risk him being gone for a season. Can we afford that?

All things equal , I would like to see him stay but with the baggage...a third round pick sounds good.

I got killed by posters on here when I brought this up last month.

Well... Now, not only can't we trade him to San Diego because they decided to keep Sproles but, with him saying he wants out, his trade value has dropped further. As I suggested, we are headed to Magahee territory but Lynch isn't even the starter. We'd be lucky to get a 3rd for him now. Either Gailey needs to let Marshawn know that he will be a big part of the offense or Nix needs to get a deal done before the draft. We don't want an unhappy player in the locker room spouting negative stuff when we're trying to change the direction of the team positively.

  9. He has not worn out his welcome. I know everybody wants angels but if Buffalo had a bunch of Tebows everybody would B word because we'd be to soft. And I don't know what team you follow but the Bills ain't getting Sproles or Taylor. Keep Lynch, let him and Freddy battle it out and have one of the best 2 deeps at RB in the NFL.

I follow the Bills (born and raised) and, ironically, Florida (grad school). I agree that keeping Freddie and Lynch would be great but it has the risk of blowing up either off the field or in the locker room. And if we had a bunch of Tebows, nobody would call us soft. He is a nice God fearing kid off the field but no one who has ever seen him play would ever call him soft. You can be a good person off the field and hardcore on the field. That's where the problem is with Lynch. He has not proven he can be both for a long stretch of time. I hope last year finally woke him up and he will be a productive member of the Bills for years to come. If the Bills organization haven't seen positive signs, they should get what they can for him and turn the page.

  10. I mean damn he had one bad season/year in buffalo and he wore out his welcome? C'MON SON GTFOH....

and chester taylor over marshawn? Really? NAWWWWWW.....and chestor taylor like 30 so let me get this straight

you want two 30 yr old backs?

I see you are a fan of his. I actually am too but unless the new coaches find a better way to use him, he will be screaming to get out. And another year of sitting behind Freddie will not make him more valuable to anyone. I say we trade him before it becomes another Magahee situation.

And I said I would prefer Sproles 26 (27 by the season) Chester Taylor is like Fred, an older back with a lot of tread left because he hasn't taken a beating over the years. But I agree that he's not a long term solution.

  11. The Bills roster is not very talented so trading one of your best players away for a 3rd or a 4th would be....well very Buffalo Bills-esque.

The guy is a pain in the a## but he can play. RB's goes down all of the time and you have a proven starter to take over if Freddy blows a knee.

I know he's talented but he has worn out his welcome in BUF. How long do you think he would be content as a backup to Freddie. I say get what you can for him and pick up another back either through FA or the draft. I wouldn't mind getting Sproles or Chester Taylor in here. I would prefer Sproles so we could cut Roscoe loose without any concern for the return game. And he has that big play potential the Bills have lacked recently.

  12. It's clear that SD is looking for a RB. It makes a lot of sense to send Marshawn back to Cali where he was very successful in college. He needs a new NFL start and we could use whatever picks we could get in return. He still is a good back with very little wear and tear. We should be able to get at least a 4 and maybe even a 3.

Sorry, this has already been suggested.

Interestingly, this article was written before Sproles was let go so it makes even more sense now!
