  1. For years the *Patriots were praised for getting rid of guys one year too early instead of one year too late.  I hope Mitch is successful and healthy.  But I also think moving on is the right thing to do.  Time to get younger.

  2. It’s not even what has to happen to beat KC, it’s that our window has been nailed shut.  In the last week (per mainstream media) we’ve lost three pro bowl DB’s and a center.  We’re also losing other “major” contributors.  No mention that with the exception of Morse, these guys are aging high priced players who’ve lost a step and can’t stay healthy.  This is a game for young fast players and I’m looking forward to next season.

  3. A real simple and cheap help….  Pick up a “closed cell” sleeping pad, they’re blue and about a half inch thick.  Cost you about $15.  Because it’s closed cell, it can’t absorb water.  Cut two pieces about 1 1/2 to 2 feet long.  Put one pad under your boots and sit on the other.  You’ll be amazed at how much more comfortable you are.

  4. I don’t get the doom and gloom…  The Chief’s had one of the best punters in the league last season and they’re replacing him with the “punt god”?  Sure, he can kick it a mile.  He’s also inconsistent because he kicks line drives and his directional kicking isn’t good.  Oh by the way, he wasn’t a holder in college either as he was the place kicker too.  The Chief’s may save some money but I think they’re downgrading the position.

  5. It’s been a couple of years but what I remember is that he could kick it a mile, just not sure of the direction.  I’m glad he’s getting another chance but I don’t think he’s an upgrade over the Chief’s current kicker.  Any team could have tried to sign him to their roster or practice squad for months and didn’t.  The next time our biggest concern with any team is the punter, it’ll be the first time.

  6. Going to ramble a bit here…. The playoffs are a war of attrition.  When I looked at who was out (top 2 LB and CB) it didn’t look good.  Then seeing how limited Douglas and Kline were, it looked worse.  Folks are upset that the D-line had no sacks and little pressure.  KC’s interior O-line is good.  If our back 7 is two old but great safeties, 3rd string and PS guys Mahomes doesn’t need a lot of time to hit the open guy.

Am I disappointed that we lost?  Yes.   Am I making excuses?  Sure.   Do I think we need wholesale changes?   Nope.   We need better receivers and probably two new safeties (and to be healthy).   Been a fan for 50+ years.  Hope for the best, plan for the worst.

  7. As the new stadium was designed to deal with the wind I think it’ll be fine.  The current stadium is built in a hole, with a wide open structure that allows the wind to blow straight through, and a single access tunnel that does all kinds of weird stuff.  I’m actually looking forward to the new one.
