  1. According to Levi he was upset that he "didn't even get a practice squad invite". Where did you hear different?

    From Profootballweekly.com:

A day after releasing their opening day starting QB Trent Edwards, the Bills replaced him on the roster by signing QB Levi Brown. Originally their seventh-round pick out of Troy, Brown was cut at the end of training camp despite a solid preseason. He refused a spot on the team's practice squad, but appears to be happy to return as their No. 3 QB.

  2. If Nix/Gaily did not think Levi Brown was good enough to keep on the practice squad, why do they suddenly think he is good enough to put on the active roster?

Weren't there better options out there on other teams' practice squads or free agents? Troy Smith is a name that intrigues me, but there must have been other options too.

I'm still having a tough time figuring out the thinking of Nix and Chan. Very confused and frustrated with this organization.

They wanted him on the PS. Levi refused.

  3. If you don't see an improvement from the QB position this week (ie. passes down field, making reads of the defense, pocket awareness) I'll agree with you.

You will see an improvement. Like Lee Evans said, Fitz has testicles. Trent seems to be lacking his. Our whole damn team is going to improve just from the simple fact that Lee Evans and Roscoe Parrish are now legitimate weapons that are actually going to be thrown to-mark my words, run game is going to open up--fewer three and outs--fresher defense.

  4. Not sure I agree with you but I can respect your opinion and the tone of your post. Well done. Wish you would have said that in the previous post.

That being said maybe you should apologize not to me but the other posters for that horrendous post about Sully playing WR and putting on the pads. Borderline insulting and at least I have the "gnats" to cal you out on it. Guess you really didn't like that.

Horrendous post about Sully playing WR? Hell I would bet 99.9% of the people on this board would love to see Sully play WR. I would love to see him in the slot on a drag route. See if his chubby little ass can take a hit.

If you are trying to stay on the down low -- it ain't working Sully. You suck.

    I read your post.

In this case, I firmly believe you have overreacted. I never once implied that you don't deserve an opinion. I never implied that Gailey should be nailed to the cross. I said he should be held accountable. I never implied you were a total ass. I never implied you were an idiot. Where did any of that come from?

You talk about how this is a public forum and you get how people may not be as civil as they should. I used the words "give me a break" and "UNBELIEVABLE" and your offended? Either you are overly sensitive or just looking for a fight.

I know I rub people the wrong way but what you may not realize is that your rubbing me the wrong way too? It cuts both ways. Now that is no excuse for being uncivil. I firmly believe my post was civil. Perhaps a bit harsh but I don't feel it deserved the response you gave me. There really is no justification for what you did...Nevertheless, I will apologize to you if I offended you and I will continue to work on my shortcomings.

Sully you just need to move along. You obviously suck at sports journalism. You suck even more at being a member of a football forum. Why don't you try Garbage man for a while? You might find the audience a little less hostile, and way more receptive.

  5. I agree. And I also have faith in CJ. He didn't get enough touches game one, but I have confidence that he'll be a weapon from this point forward. The Jets will have no answer for him.

    LOL. CJ?

We need an inside running game, and we needed it one game ago. If they do not get Lynch going, it's going to be a long year--Ain't no way in hell Spiller can run between our tackles. Maybe a goal line dive over the top. Jackson is a competent inside runner--but I would have sent Lynch at least 20 times at strong B behind Levitre and Green--hell that is all Green is good for anyway.

If we do not establish a running game--we are done.

  6. Wrong - taking a safety would have been the right call only if you were trailing by 4 or 5 points. You never, and I mean never, take a safety in that situation if you are trailing by 3 or less. Its is so much easier to score a field goal than a TD, so you never intentionally put yourself in a situation where you go from just needing a field goal to tie to the case where you have to score a TD. You did not have the time to score a TD. The defense plays prevent, which does not allow for a quick TD, but does allow an offense a decent chance to move into FG range

Just a horrible strategic decision there. Very troubling

I agree with the call and frankly took it as a fresh of breath air that our head coach knows what the hell he is doing. Jauron would have punted, Fins would have scored, Game would have been over.

  7. You realize that Trent Edwards has never had a single 300-yard passing performance, right? It's a joke. Give me a guy who will at least TRY, over this same tired-ass scared checkdown turtle humiliating baby bull ****. It's a man's game. Give me someone who isn't afraid to fail, and maybe, just maybe we'll get this franchise out of the gutter.

We had one, his name was JP Losman, he got ran out of town.

  8. You're glad we didn't bring in a Super Bowl winning offensive mastermind?

He did not win those Super Bowl's by himself. He inherited a hall of fame qb that probably would have already won one if he had a running game and a decent coach (i.e. See Reeve's subsequent chokes in Atlanta).

I am happy with our old school GM, Coach, and the southern flavor they bring. I can actually get what they are trying to do. They brought back the 3-4 which never should have left. We are going to run the f-ck out of the ball this year. I am a happy man at this moment. We have some meat on our d-line again. Not these undersized Dick Jauron specials that probably should be playing LB'er.

Shanahan is not god. Neither is Cowher. Quit your crying--it's a done deal and you never had any say in the matter to begin with.

  9. Regardless of whether the other team can use it as bb material. Donte has guaranteed crap before that never came to fruition... I personally wish he would focus on playing football and keep his mouth shut. I prefer the lunch pail guys that do their talking on the field without dancing and making a spectacle of themselves. Old school football.

  10. If you book a Hotel in Green Bay you HAVE to book for a weekend, and its pretty pricey. If you check around Madison or Appletown you'll be much better off, but the downside is your not in "crawling" distance as stated above.

Madison? Are you crazy? Thats a two plus hour drive.

Fox river valley is your best bet. Oshkosh, Fon Du Lac, Appleton, De Pere, etc. And I don't know who you are talking to, but booking for a weekend is not required. Might be for the hotels right by the stadium--but you will find one downtown that will do it.

I would not go any further south than Fon Du Lac and even that is too far.

  11. Two questions...

    1) To anyone that's been to GB before, what hotel(s) would you recommend?

    2) Are Bills fans staying at a specific hotel? If that's the case, I'll book there.

    Thanks,

It's really not a question of which hotel to recommend, it's who has a room.

Shoot to get one by the stadium if you can, it's nice to be able to crawl your ass home after a night of **** talking Packer fans and helping close the bars that are stadium side.

Next best place is downtown. Quick cab ride -- watch the cabbies like hawks -- the bastards will take your money.

If those two fail, anywhere in the Fox River valley will work, and most will have a game shuttle -- or transportation arrangements of some sort, just call.

  12. What do you think about the Packers They have a lot of different options but the prices ar WOAH....

It is spendy, but when you have a season ticket waiting list like the Pack does, they can get away with it...

I have been going up there for almost 15 years for Bills games. Next best place to the Ralph. Arrowhead ranks high in my book too.

  13. FYI, I just booked a hotel room for my dad and I (his annual father's day gift--since I owe him for my curse of Bills fandom!), but they seem to be going fast, as there weren't too many places to choose from. A word to the wise is to book yours now if you want to go to this game. Also got some tix on Stubhub--the middle of section 121 for about $230 bucks each. Now I just need to line up the flights, but looking forward to spending a weekend at a true football shrine.....

I always get my Packer tickets from Event USA aka Packerland tours. Best deals around for indvidual tickets, I have also done their Tailgate packages (@Brett Favre Steakhouse) it's a good deal.

  14. Christ, our oline is fine. Even if we don't get Gaither. It's all going to be keyed off the run--just like it has everywhere Gailey has been. Look at that Miami line he had for two years....

Not exactly a list of Who's Who is it? Sometimes I swear you f'ing people B word just to hear yourselves whine.

I know it's been re-hashed again and again, but I still can't come to grips with it.

How on Earth is this offense going to do ANYTHING with the starting front-five looking like it is now?

Assume no trade for Gaither (it becomes less likely each day). Your starting front-five looks like this:

    D. Bell (coming off of serious knee injury; wasn't strong enough or good enough before the injury)

    Levitre (solid but young)

Hangartner (average-to-below-average last year, but at least he has some experience)

Wood (coming off of serious leg injury; may not be ready for season)

    Green (old; sucks)

Backups are Meredith, Wang, Hennessy, Calloway.

    Yikes.

I fail to see how this unit holds up for one game, let alone an entire season. Very little talent, almost no experience, and ZERO depth. Is this coaching staff setting itself up for disaster? I understand that Rome wasn't built in a day, but they've done almost NOTHING to address what was the weakest (and most important) link heading into the offseason.

I know the common refrain is that this team still ran the ball fairly well last year with the line in shambles, and that Gailey's playcalling and schemes will help make up the difference. Well, I'm calling B.S. on that argument. This team couldn't run a normal offense last year because it had no blockers. If I hear Gailey say during a post-game interview - even one freakin' time - that the offense wasn't able to be effective because the blocking wasn't holding up, then he will officially have lost me. There are no excuses. Either they have a plan, or they plan to fail.

Really, look at this roster and tell me you're not terrified.
