I’m guilty of making a bigger deal about stuff like this. ***** talk is part of the sport (which I love if it’s not my fav team), but you just know that’s all we hear after the game if the Chiefs come out on top “Good Luck”.

    Liam Neeson Good Luck GIF

and we will deserve to hear it all. Put up or shut up for our boys. We WILL win...31-20

Because we don't have the linebackers we normally have so we almost need that to be more of a core part of our base. Tbh it is a bit about how do we get our best XI healthy defenders on the field more often than not?

Well we dont know yet who we will have and who we wont. But I definitely get and agree with your point about getting our best defenders on the field. I would rather have AJ Klein and Dodson (or spector, or williams) than Rapp playing LB. And if we DID shift a safety down to LB/hybrid I would just imagine it would be the same guy we have been asking to do that for the majority of the season than swap Rapp/Poyer roles...

So what I am saying is, IF we were to use that look in more of our core part of our base D, then treat it like our dime package and have rapp play safety and poyer play in the box, like both have been doing.

    1. Maybe Taylor Rapp (if healthy himself)? In some sort of dime / hybrid linebacker / big nickel role?

    2. Yep, and again our athleticism at the second level if our starters end up being Klein, Dodson and Lewis concerns me there too. Might have to really ask the ends to be disciplined and that takes away from your pass rush. What would you rather have? Pick your poison.

    3. Agee. I think we are going to need another exceptional performance from Josh and his supporting cast, which - other than the Knox drop right after half time - showed out pretty well for him vs Pitt.

Haven't we been doing that for the last half of the season except Rapp comes in for Poyer and Poyer slides down into the dime/hybrid/big nickel role? Why would we change what has been working (if Rapp is healthy)

  4. Not loving more travel bans in OP...I am guessing this will disrupt practice/training room time/prep today/tomorrow. Just what we need going into this huge matchup with a depleted roster.

Well the fact is the Bills defense is not healthy. Mahomes certainly won't get the best defense the Bills could have on display. Sucks, unfortunate, and sucks some more. Injuries always play a part in football.

McD knows the Chiefs offense. He's been somewhat successful with his game plans. Unfortunately, not as much come playoff time. Hopefully, things change will the home field advantage.

The next man up mentality has really been true with this Bills defense. Klein off his RV played remarkable well. Elam with a huge INT and Dorian Williams flashing. This is very encouraging. It will take a total team effort to win.

The Chiefs team isn't as dominant as previous years. Yet, they are very scary with Mahomes and Jones anchoring their perspective sides. Not to mention their secondary is lights out. Reid will likely have a few tricks up his sleeve.

On the other side, McD has done a superb job with his depleted D. Hopefully, it can continue. During the winning stretch his defense has been able to close the games. Gotta see it in this game; a huge playoff game. We all know this hasn't been the case. It's his nemesis if you will. Get the monkey off your back.

I believe McD is going to be pretty aggressive on offense. I can see him going for it on 4th downs.

On defense, Mahomes is a blitz killer. The front four has to get pressure. Likely they can attack their tackles where they appear to be weaker. I wish I could say it's Von Miller time. How great that would be. Just can't see it happening.

Lastly, the Bills need McD not to blow it. I don't say this in a  sarcastic manner. 13 seconds has to be on everyone's mind. It's inevitable. McD was fortunate that the end of the half debacle didn't cost the team. That absolutely gave Pitt life as they were on life support. Making coaching mistakes are going to happen. I get that. However, coaching blunders just can't happen when the teams are so evenly matched.

What did McD do at the end of the half in Pitt?

Does anybody have any idea what implications the State of Emergency has on the game?

One would assume it is an automatic postponement or relocation, right?

no. State of emergency just allows pieces to be in place to help out to clear snow and rescue stranded people and restore power. SOE does not equal driving bans and all that. NFL might take it into consideration, that I have no clue. But SOE is an order to allow for certain things to be put in place ahead of time in this case.

What does this mean?… because we all watched the Bills blizzard game from a few years ago and you could definitely tell the difference.

right?? all the preparedness in the world doesnt change the fact thats its impossible to keep the field clear if the rates of snowfall are what they were during the Colts game and what could possibly be happening on Sunday

Last game showed me that Diggs is still Diggs, at least physically.  What we're not seeing is the energetic jubilant version that we saw in previous years.  Diggs and Josh have a very businesslike relationship right now, and I'm not seeing the same love they had for each other in the past.  Unfortunately, it looks like this has run its course.

That being said, I appreciate Diggs handling it as professionally as he has been, but once he's gone, I'm sure we'll get a little insight as to what happened.  Unless of course we win it all, as winning cures all.

For now, and for the good of the team, somebody needs to tell these 2 to just hug it out.

you obviously havent seen any of the videos of him during the games going around on social media then. This post could not be further from the truth.

will 6-10 inches  is now turning into possibly 1-3 feet with 50 mph winds...   Can't imagine that they wont move this game to Cleveland or Detroit.

there is literally zero chance of that

if ANYTHING (and it would be an extremely small chance) maybe push the game to Monday night after the snow passes

So with the weather forecast starting to look worse and worse,  it got be to thinking....  If the bills lose to Pittsburgh and it is mainly because the weather was so terrible that it evened the playing field. What would the narrative around the new stadium be? It would mark two years in a row that the Bills were eliminated in part because of atrocious weather.  Would more fans start calling for a dome.

Not only does the weather neutralize the playing field, but fans simply don't want to go.  Ticket prices have been steadily dropping. I can only imagine how expensive tickets would be had we been playing in a dome.

I dunno if its starting to look worse and worse, Pat Hammer on channel 2 this morning was more optimistic. Said its still too early to tell where the band sets up, but with the powerful wind and the direction he thinks theres a decent chance that the band will be above OP during the game (DEFINITELY over the stadium for the night/overnight sunday). Only time the snow fall matters is from 1-3...let us play our game as much as possible for the majority of the game and its an easy DUB.

I doesn't matter if it's the Super Bowl.  If fans, players and and officials can't get to the stadium (and home again), you can't play the game.  Period.

It won't require 7 feet of snow for the game to be moved...18-24 inches would probably do it.  As I understand it, that's within the range of possibilities for Sunday.

they are not moving this game..thats beyond even thinking about. They decided to move the last game on the Thursday before and that was thought to be cutting it too close. Aint happening for a regular winter storm this area sees regularly, lol.

I don’t know how you can say that.  Multiple games have been moved/postponed in the past and we know that there are certain weather conditions that could make it impossible to play the game in Orchard Park on Sunday. Those factors are definitely in play.

The Bills have had two games in history moved. For EXTREME weather, like 7 feet of snow. This aint that. This is like the colts game in 2017...they dont want to move games ever and ESPECIALLY not playoffs.

Allow me to ask as well, why is it that you think that there's a "churn" at OC that is preventing the optimization of the "key player" on the team?

Even Daboll's credentials coming here were incredibly questionable.

I'm not sure anything can be trusted for lake effect snow events.

Remember that monster storm we had what, six or seven years ago maybe.

The computer weather models suck these days anyway.

Local weather guys are usually pretty accurate 2 days out. Ill trust what Pat Hammer says tomorrow about Sundays weather...but obviously, NO ONE knows what lake effect bands do on that day. Just gotta show up and play ball.

  13. Dictate the game to the Steelers offensively. Throw on 1st down to get ahead of the sticks. Don't let the Steelers make you one dimensional.

Steelers have had a problem covering tight ends for months now, utilize that. Would love to see some 13 looks, or 22 looks, play action on early downs.

Throw to your RBs, WR screens (HEY, one worked last week), and take your shot to Diggs.

Yes we will be running the ball, but when and how you do it cannot be so obvious to allow the Steelers to load the box. They aren't the best run defense, we CAN and WILL run on them. However, they also have a bad pass defense that needs to be exploited. Too much scared talk about the Steelers and the weather. We have played in the wind...this isn't going to be the New England wind game...Josh can get the ball where it needs to go.

(IF there is active accumulating snow with the wind, like inches on the field, then jesus christ just hold on and advance by any means necessary. Run Josh 30 times.)

I'm just hoping it doesn't turn into a slopfest, because no one does slop like Pittsburgh.

That being said, slopfests is also a pretty good way to describe most of the games the Bills have played this season.

ill take Josh Allen in a slop fest over any player in the world.

Did you watch him last week in Miami?

That dude aint letting his team lose.

Problem with 2nd int was that he could've easily* get the first down himself, or at least that is how I remember it.

*I am not saying easily for any other QB, but we are talking Josh "I am bigger and stronger than any of you" Allen

He also had his TE wide open right at the start on the play on his first read (staring right at him) and turned it down...
