People blaming McDermott for this game are way off base. To me this game is a huge indictment on Tyrod Taylor and his shortcomings. And if we didn't have a defensive touchdown this game would've been over long before now
-
I don't know what was worse that sack or tyrods decision to throw the ball to Patrick demarco for a 10 yard loss

you're determining this without the all-22.
you're either at the game or have access to somethign we don't.
well done, remind me, how much do you know about football?
So you need all 22 in order to determine whether receivers running wide-open or not? It's a receiver has three steps he has three steps

this is the stupidest comment i've read today.
taylor has shown he cannot be protected.
taylor has been kept in the pocket by poor blocking schemes and all
we didn't give taylor an option to do what he is successful at doing.
also, in the box, right before that
So you haven't seen wide-open receivers and running back's running all over the field who is that on Dennison or Taylor

This game is a perfect example of why Dennison is not the problem ,rather Taylor

How is Pagano a head coach in the NFL

Franchise qb's are extremely rare and alomost never available any other way than the draft. If garrapollo ends up being as good as he's projected to be, this may go down as one of the most one-sided trades in NFL history.

I would be severely disappointed if we traded draft capital for Alex Smith

I was surprised they didn't make the moves necessary for the comp pick. I side with bean . I wonder if bean talked to McDermott about the punt last Sunday lol
-
Probably looking in the vicinity of what they got for Marcell
-
I'm talking about mcdermotts in game decisions regarding time management and whether to punt or not. I like him but just think he lacks in this area. I'm not saying he makes no good decisions

Finkle seems to think our team's coach and his decisions have nothing to do with the win totals this year. No, really.
Just because you obtain a good result doesn't mean all the decisions involved are good decisions. I would argue that Brisett throwing behind a wide open ty Hilton played a bigger role in us winning than McDermott deciding to punt

How bad can they be when we're on pace to more than top the previous years' win totals?
Because we have won despite the decisions....the decisions have not helped us win

Despite the outcome , the decision to punt is indefensible. The "variables" as Sean mentioned should have , if anything, steered him more towards going for it (joe Webb at qb, 2 minutes left in OT, the elements, needing a win, Indy just had a long game tying drive) and if that pass isn't behind TY Hilton we get a different result
-
I like McDermott but his in game decisions are becoming a troubling trend...

I agree Taylor and Alex Smith had almost identical stats if you take away that late interception from Smith. I think sometimes it's hard for us to be objective about the quarterback position because looking at Smith I thought his performance was lackluster at best yet tyrod did almost the same thing
-
This last series wasn't on Denison that's all on the head coach don't think for a second that Dennison doesn't consult with McDermott on how aggressive he wants to be
-
What was all that talk about McDermott saying a lot of rookie head coaches are sitting on their hands too afraid to make aggressive decisions that seem like McDermott was sitting on his hands with those 3 Straight Run Plays
-
If Cleveland trades for Mccarron could we pry the number one pick from them?

His situation doesn't change the fact that he was still a rookie and if anything it would show that Peterman's play was because of his lack of talent on offense
So you don't think having an elite O line is an advantage? Look at Prescotts play right now without Tyron Smith, which by the way even without smith their O line is still light years ahead of ours
-
Prescott also went in to a lot better situation than Peterman. He had arguably the best O line in football. A top 5 wr, top 5 TE....completely different circumstances

Yea im saying the deadline for the comp pick formula was week 10

I don't want to waste another 5 years waiting to see if a drafted QB is going to work out again. Lets just go for the proven guy. Go get Kirk Cousins in the offseason and focus the draft on other needs
I was against this for the longest time but I'm slowly starting to come around to this type of thinking I think if you were able to sign cousins along with our big hall of draft picks you can be competitive super quickly. We need to invest heavily whether through the draft or free agency on our offenseive line and defensive line it should be priority number one other than quarterback obviously

Another inaccurate pass by Dennison
