  1. LOL @ Castana...Seriously people. It's Anthony Castonzo and no, he won't make it out of the 1st round. LOL @ Mallett even being available in the 3rd round.

You're right. I like Quinn and some of the other big names too but they won't fall to us in the later rounds either, aka... the title "wish list". Perhaps I should have called it the "dreaming list"

  2. My wish list:

1st pick - Fairly, Dareus or Bowers. As much as I want a QB, the D line needs the most help.

2nd pick - It would be nice to be able to get Cam Newton but we would most likely have to make a trade to get back into the first round. I might be willing to give up our 2nd round pick and one of our 4th round picks to trade up to get him but it takes 2 to trade like that. If we can't get Newton then I might go with Castana if available or back to a Defensive player, a DT or LB.

3rd pick - If we don't get Newton as stated above I would like Kaepernick or Mallett here. I was a huge Mallett fan but now like Newton and Kaepernick more but would be happy with any of them at this point. I don't like Ponder or Locker. I hope we keep Levi and let Brohm go but am going to trust Chan to make the best call here. If we are able to get Newton, I would want to add an OT or OG here.

4th pick - Add another LB.

5 - 7 We can look at a big & tall TE with good hands (I still like Andre Smith from VT) then the rest of the picks on D.

I'm not being too specific on a lot of these but there are just a few names that I would actually buy a jersey for, if drafted by the Bills. For example, Jordan would be another great addition to the Bills.

  3. The Bills are not in a position to just pick the best player available (BPA), that is a strategy that only works for established teams. Not addressing our needs and taking the BPA only makes us a revolving door of talent. We could just keep taking WRs, RBs, etc... but that will only take the team longer to get the talent where they really need it. I would like the Bills to get back to the Superbowl sooner - not later. IMO - DE is a position that we are weakest at. If we can trade down for more picks, that is great but we need some help on D that can come in and make an immediate impact.

  4. I agree with Mad Dog 69 and disagree with DreReed83. I recorded games of a lot of QB that I was interested in including Newton, Luck, Mallett, etc.. and have watched a some of the games 4 -5 times. Newton does go through his reads, he doesn't go through all of them all the time but he does have a good field awareness.

  5. I haven't seen anything special from Gabbert to what him in a Bills uniform. As far as Cam Newton not going through his progressions, I have to disagree. When he was forced to stay in the pocket he did a really good job picking defenses apart. Sure he likes to run but when it's 3rd and 3 and he runs for 13 or 3rd and 6 and he runs for 20, I'm fine with it. It seems that Newton has the same "It" factor as Tebow. I've learned not to believe everything I read in these forums or from the "experts".

  6. Kaepernick looks like the best seeior QB in this draft. The kid is tall, can run & has a cannon of an arm. I would still like to see the Bills get a DE with the #3 pick & then trade back up into the first round for Cam Newton. If that doesn't work we could then go after Kaepernick in a later round. I would rather go with Levi Brown than draft Ponder.

  7. I agree with Armchair GM. Levi seems to have it all except for a chance to prove it in the NFL. From what I have seen, we should keep him over Brohm. Levi is the biggest reason why I wouldn't be totally upset is Buffalo didn't draft another QB.

  8. I was not a big fan of Newton a few months ago. I was a big Mallett fan, but I have been watching their last few games over & over and the more I watch, the more I like Newton. In Newton's last game, Oregon used a pro-style defense that was designed to contain Newton and he was able to beat them by taking advantage of what thay gave him. I aslo watched how they interacted with their teammates on the side lines. Newton should be a great NFL QB.

  9. IN A PERFECT WORLD: I know a lot of people may disagree with this however, IMO - We we take the biggest/best DE in the draft at #3 (Fairley) and then trade up and get Cam Newton.

A few months ago I was a huge fan of Mallet and not so big on Newton but I recorded a few of their games and have been watching them over & over and I am now a bigger fan of Newton than Mallet. Newton is a big kid with tons of talent & heart which will help him be successful in the NFL. Mallet is a little too frail and combine that with his lack of mobility, he may very well have a short career in the NFL.

If the Bills get either Fairley or Newton, I will buy their jerseys. If we get both of them I will buy 2 jerseys. I haven't been excited about a Bills player enough to buy a jersey in a long time.

  10. It's pretty hard to truly evaluate our secondary since we our Defensive front is so weak. When the RBs are getting huge holes to run through and the QBs have all day to pick us apart, it's kind of hard to determine how good/bad our secondary players are. We need some serious help at DE, DT & LB. Actually, now that I think of it, we're not giving RBs huge holes, they just run right over, through and around us.

  11. I can only dream of where the Bills would be now if they didn't waste picks on plays like Trent Edwards, Maybin, McCargo and even the revolving door at RB. If we had addressed the lines, both Off & Def, and LBs. We would be in the playoffs already. Our scouting dept. is either totally clueless or someone is making desicions without listening to them.

  12. We still need a QB so our first pick should be: Luck, Mallett or Newton, in that order. If we can get Luck, we should take him, if not than we should go for Mallett (his huge arm would be a great fit for the windy Ralph and Gailey's spread formations). Newton would be my 3rd option for a first round QB, he has a strong arm, is smart, plays with a ton of passion and can run. There is no reason why we can't get one of these guys. Then we go DE or DT with the next pick or two, then on to LB, RT, and perhaps a TE such as Andre Smith from VA Tech. Andre Smith is a big kid that can block but also has great hands and may still be availble around the 5th round or so.

I wish Brian Brohm good luck where ever he ends up.

    Go Bills!!!!!!
