Very well written and in complete agreement. I'll just add the "lifelong friendships"
that would of never materialized without all the sports and the constant coaching of sports,
both by parents and other levels of coaching beyond parenting.

I understood the part about you playing hockey years ago. What I don't understand is; Where did
your passion for the sport go? Or any sports go? Coaching, whether it's good or bad in the eye
of the beholder is a necessary evil. You shouldn't blame your sports hatred on that!
Myself; I was never as proud when my change of life son at the very tender age of seven,
(he is now nine) pursued the same sport that I have been engaged in and competing in
for over 45 years. My first son (now 31) wanted nothing to do with it.
(racing off-road bikes that is) A lot of those years were losing years for me, but
I wouldn't change a thing because hard work spot lights the character of the soul.
And it's a real tough sport. How tough? The boy raced during hurricane Lee and Irene!
And the coach? C'mon! He is shaping those young men into real men. That's his job!!!!
And shame on the snitch for not keeping that in the locker room, where it belongs!!!!!!!
And I know a place where you could hear much, much worse. If you don't want to hear it
stay home, behave, or better yet - don't even play the game!
If you do want to hear it? It's called correctional facilities!!
Come and visit some time. I'll be glad to give you the guided tour and bring a change of
underwear! Your gonna need it! Oh! And one more thing. Go Bills!

Great post PTR, I too thought it was very humerous. I totally get it! And here I thought I had it bad and I only drive a little more than 4 hours to the game. My bad. And to coin a common phrase, if I may; "I'm driving over 4 hours, I swear I'm done with this team"! Good stuff.

Why can't we seriously address our lines and still take a QB in round 1? Who did you have in mind in the first round at LB, assuming we are picking in the top 4 or 5?

Harbaugh should know that hatred is self defeating. It's obvious that he can't resolve the hate he has for kelly, or the Bills. So instead, he allows it to consume him. Hell of a way to live!

I don't hate the man, I just moderately dis-like the man.
And only because he played with no heart and no passion for a game he was supposed to love.
And if you don't love the game, why play?
Does the love of money affect the love of the game that much? If so, WOW!

And for the record, myself and others didn't or don't hate Trent Edwards. It was his lack of competitiveness that forced our hand to moderately dis-like him. There is a difference! As a general rule, we americans are a very competitive breed (mostly men) and every little thing is a contest. But not for Trent!! I'm 52 and still compete in Americas toughest sport (mx racing) because I'm a non-stop "competitor" and I'm not doing it for a living. I am doing it because I love it! And that is the difference between Trent and other competitive athletes and why we moderately dis-like him. He has no heart and without that you are a competitor in absolutely nothing.
Let's face facts, Trent had one of only 30 jobs in the entire world. And a very coveted occupation regardless of your athletic proess.
How he got the starters job and held onto it for so long is what baffles me. I've said it before (in text) and I'll say it again; Stevie Wonder amongst others could see how poorly this man played. Why can't his followers?
Bottom line; It wasn't our decision to cut Trent Edwards. As the fans, it's our decision to back the organization, or find another hobby!

I can not believe that Trent is still on the roster, and #2 for that matter. Does our coach owe him money? Is it a bad joke? A typo? This guy couldn't be the back-up janitor at the water treatment plant and our coach still thinks that Trent is a good back-up!

Sorry I missed the game everybody. I've been at Unadilla for three days. Just got back from watching my son race, my friends race, and all the pros race. And in that order! Also wishing that I was still racing. Sure beats watching those Bills. And by the sounds of it, I didn't miss anything.
I didn't realize that I completely missed the game until I got home around 8:00 PM and un-packed. I always knew Trent was bad; And so did my pal Stevie Wonder. We just couldn't convince his loyal followers. Gailey being one of them!
Because I have a lot of activities on my plate, I'll pause on watching the Trent Edwards side show and will rejoin the mix when there is some one else under center.
By the way, I saw an older guy at the mx park that picked up an over-thrown foot ball and without any effort threw it into another zip code. Frustrated was he? Don't know. But this guy without question, could throw a marshmallow through a brick wall. And yes, he had everybody's attention. It flew that far and that fast! And don't you wish we had a QB like that.

Well I will admit I thought either Fitzy or Brohm would be let go and Levi would be kept as our 3rd.
I was wrong about that. I think that's all I can fess up to. How about the rest of you guys? Speak up, don't be shy.
I figured all 4 QB's would make it, even though I moderately dislike Edwards as the starter. And if he doesn't get us to the play-offs, that moderate dis-like will never improve. Just once in those post-game interviews would I like to see him accept responsibility for poor execution, instead of saying "I gotta look at the film" Well Trent, Sweet Lou would like to know what kind of film you've been looking at ?

I've written it before, and have been torched for it. I'll write it again and please torch away if necessary. because I'm really liking it. It's not my rule, but your QB must have leadership qualities, because your QB controls the tempo of the game, blah...blah...blah, I know! (much like a pitcher in baseball) also, instilling confidence into his team mates to execute and take control of the game. (taking command of the huddle, the QB's job, hello Mcfly! etc. et,al) The "IT" factor!
We all know that the game of football requires mental and physical prowess.
Trent "does not" have IT! That prowess, those leadership qualities, nor does he control any part of his game, or his own bodily functions! I swear to God! Stevie Wonder can see it! Why can't our coach? (and others?) Just listen to his interviews for God's sakes! Will he ever accept responsibility for any of his piss-poor performances!
I'm sure Trent is a good man, a great neighbor, a great brother, a good son, a listening friend. But a good QB, he will never, ever be.

Look outside of a few that are a very loud minority, the majority of Bills fans are sick of the QB situation. They know Edwards is never going to be the guy to get us to a superbowl so why waste another year on a guy that isn't going to get the job done?
At some point we are going to have to trade up no matter what the cost on a #1 overall pick, pay him and take the risk to get that QB that will eventually get us there OR trade for a guy.
Until we have a damn good QB to build this thing around and market, it is always going to be this way.
In my 36 consecutive years as a Buffalo fan, I couldn't of said it any better. Excellent job D-Ice, now can you pick the winning lottery numbers for us.

Same game LV bills fan, with different results. After the stadium practically emptied out at half-time, myself and a handful of others moved from the end zone (tunnel end) to the 40 yard line, first row; (Buffalo side of course) It was so crazy, I probably could of jumped the wall and helped coach ! And that was before our Bills made that come-back. Well, I couldn't talk either. Then it turned into bronchitis, which I conveniently passed onto my new girl friend. Prior to that I kept telling her "I'm not sick" And when she got what I had, she kicked me to the curb. And to this day I still wonder what could of been. Still, the greatest game I ever saw.

WOW! This is by far the craziest reeason I have ever heard for giving anyone a pass......1st off, ANYONE is entitled to their own opinion, ignorant or educated. But to look for a reason because someone loved their child "unconditionally" because they have a horrible disease?????......any father loves their child regardless of how their child's health is.....UNCONDITIONALLY????....as a parent and a human being, I am dumbfounded by this comment....really!!!

Not to stir up your ire partner, or anyone elses for that matter, but I was only commenting on a small part of that quote. I'm not computer smart, so here goes. It was the part: "But off the field I have seen little sign of intelligence" I have never met Kelly personally, but I responded to the quote because I "HAD" a best friend (my shortstop in college) who had it all. The grades, the girl, the athletism, the promising future; Until he had to bury his infant son. That was in the seventies. He will never recover and to this day he hates every living thing. His former wife and daughter have long since moved on. And I commented because burying a child, like the Kelly's had to do (and many others unfortunately) affects some peoples every moral fiber, including their own intelligence. You actually have to see it to believe it.
And not all parents love their children, disease or no disease. If that were untrue why would Child Protective Services be such a secure form of employment in this country. All the prisons across our great nation are filled with former parents who have tortured, mutilated, and killed their own children. Some of these children were dis-membered and even partially consumed. That's not love.
A fellow co-worker has a 25 year old son that has been hospitalised for about 23 years. He has not visted his son in 21 years. That is not love under any condition !
I used to work in a hospital like St. Judes. and there are children hospitalised there who have never had a visit from their
parents and probably never will. That's not love either. And not that I care, but women young and old have abortions by the hundreds. Foster homes, abandoned infants and children. That's not love. These are not opinions, educated or ignorant. They are documented facts that can be researched; But you're going to be crying, or mad as hell when you're done researching.
Some day ByT we'll have to get together for a beer or two. You can give me the recipe for that kool-aid you've got, because I would sure love to forget some of the **** I've seen. And as always, God speed.

Kelly had many great attributes as a player, but off the field I have seen little sign of intelligence.
He loved his only son, unconditionally. Give the man a pass here. it has to be quite a burden

Coach Chan was in Brohm's hip pocket (so to speak) for the entire mini-camp. For the Brohm supporters, or the Brohm nay-sayers: Is this good or bad ?

I saw Trent practice once last year @ St. John Fisher and it was God-Almighty awful. I know, I know; Different regime, blah, blah, blah. But a leopard can't change their spots. Brohm & Brown (as it appears to me in those videos) are already out performing Trent.
As much as people dis-like the Fitz, as I do - only moderately, he could at least move the same team a "little bit". Where Trent could'nt get them to move their bowels.

In my opinion Chan has already chosen his starting QB. I think it's Brohm. And Levi Brown is already a lock on the roster, because he is "their" guy. I think the true QB competition that our coach is talking about is for the back-up role. (QB #2) And that's between Trent and Fitz. Loser goes home. Just my opinion guys!

I'll switch jobs with that scout anytime. Shhhhhhhhit ! Stevie Wonder could do a better job than what they're doing.

That scout sounds like he has little man's syndrome. Calling a Hall of Fame QB a "Clown" reeks of jealousy. Jimbo might not be the most astute evaluator of talent, but i think he has the credibility to at least comment on the situation.

No matter what, there will always be Trent supporters. I respect their opinion, and they're entitled to it, but i have to disagree. I just can't stand his dull and uninspired attitude. I don't want someone like that leading the Buffalo Bills. It's obvious that he has had a mostly unfavorable supporting cast and it's possible that things could have been different. But he's damaged goods now. It's time to move on.

Only one thing additional though...I saw the boys practice last year at the campus. (Only once) And Trent plays like he practiced and he practiced, like he plays! All bad! (And maybe this isn't all on Trent) But Trent would take a simulated sack on almost every play that day, and the coaches would just allow the same play to "continue" (as if he were never sacked) then Trent would "finally" throw a completion to Evans or TO who would then run for the simulated TD. The crowd would break into a frenzy! Why?...I don't know! My friends that day needed a fork lift to get my chin off of the ground, I was that astonished! To this day, I still can't believe what I saw. Worse than Pop Warner, IMO. And Trent sounds just like his former coach in that interview and that can not be good.

Dog, I know you are a fan of Trent's, as I was. I was cheering for this guy with every ounce of my being. I thought he was our QB of the future. Then he lost me with his evasive interviews with the media. Then his reluctance to instill the confidence in his team mates was the straw that broke my spirit.
I know those scenarios I gave are and always will be the extreme and my apoligies to those offended. But each was an experience that I wanted to share with people, because in each case our superiors, et;al (our leaders) instilled the confidence into our every moral fiber. The confidence needed to obtain the almost impossible. Whether it's a game or real life you really do want to win. And it was the look on my buddies faces back then that told me who the winners were and who the "liabilities" were. (same look on Trent's face...absolutely overwhelmed, not the crying part of course)
Call it a swagger, a confidence, maybe a certain arrogance but all the great ones have it. " Those leadership qualities." Some are born with it, while the rest of us are just thrust into it, to fail or succeed. I know it's just football and for those who dis-liked him, Jimbo had it. Like many others I saw Jimbo play and it was an honor and a pleasure, even when they lost, to watch him operate. I really thought Trent would be the next Jimbo. He had that swagger and started out great, then the air went out of his sails, I just don't think he can recapture that mojo.
