  1. Congrats to Chan too...

However, this was his worst called game in the 2nd half...Could get nothing going on the repeated chances to put the game away....Defense continues to flounder against a bad Lions offense and gave up a 88 yard drive....Where is Spiller...It is amazing that a street FA Ganther got more carries then your top 10 pick.

Spiller left in the 2nd quarter, get it right if ur gonna bash the coach

  2. Take a look here: http://www.kffl.com/static/nfl/features/freeagents/fa.php?option=All&y=2011

The site is not 100% up to date; it takes them a long time to process in-year extensions. But using this as a starting place, I think we've got a lot of good options:

QB: I'm not convinced there's anything there that would be better than Fitz (Kolb has since been extended; and Brady, Favre, and Manning obviously wont be on the open market). Shaun Hill has been playing interesting football, but I'd say we go #1 overall on Luck or else just keep Fitzpatrick in charge.

RB: Stay out of this pool, Buddy.

WR: The WR corps played extremely good football today, so I'm on a bit of a buzz for them. Beyond that, I think Legadu Naanee would be an interesting option in the #4 spot, but that's not a priority.

TE: Owen Daniels, and Zach Miller would be terrific acquisitions. Ignore Kellen Winslow and Vernon Davis; both have been extended.

OL: How old is Matt Light, anyway? He'd be a great veteran presence on the line here, though I'll bet he ends up a Chief. Ryan Kalil pushed Hangartener out before, maybe he could do it again, and past that, I'm sort of out of ideas here, though I don't know much about other teams' linemen.

DL: Richard Seymour might well hit the open market. Expect $10M/year if you want him. I'm not convinced it wouldn't be worth it. And if you like big money NTs, Haloti Ngata will be a free agent, unless the Ravens franchise him. That could be a $12M/year man. Past that, I think there's a lot of solid depth, if we're not getting anything from Carrington all year, etc. But I don't see a lot of solid starters who aren't going to break the bank.

LB: David Harris, Tamba Hali, Chad Greenway, Manny Lawson, Ben Leber, Kirk Morrison and LaMarr Woodley are all in contract years. A lot of them won't hit the market, but the Bills have a chance to really spend on a defensive leader this year.

DB: I think we can retain Florence and Whitner and keep this unit on back order for the season, but if we want to add to it, the talent out there seems mostly to be in the senior veteran category.

QB: Would've said the whichever Eagle QB is released but it's tough to go against Fitz's performance, Tyler Thigpen is still young and looked great as a 7th round rookie for Kansas City 2 years back.

    RB: Not now

WR: Dwayne Jarrett has had a Maybinesque career in Carolina, he's a 1st round talent nonetheless and deserves a chance

TE: Daniels is a stud, plus living in southern NY I know that Kevin Boss is what his name says but will probably be kept.

OL: Doug Free had been decent for the Cowboys on and off as a starter but mostly an injury replacement at OT.

DL: Mathias Kiwanuka in NY is somewhat overshadowed by Tuck and Umenyiora but he is an animal, shows lots of desire at DE or possible OLB. Ray Edwards has been overshadowed by Allen on the other side but he deserves a look as well (unless he's already been resigned)

LB: Justin Durant in Jacksonville is a surehanded tackler it ILB. Kirk Morrison is another great tackling ILB. Woodley is a top 5 OLB and is a perfect fit for a team lacking QB Pressure. Barrett Ruud will most likely be resigned but he is a stud in the interior.

DB: Cromartie is a ball hawk with loads of talent but also loads of off the field problems (what like 7 kids with 6 women). Quinten Mikell is a pro bowl caliber SS.

Of course i agree with signing Ngata and Franklin as well.

  3. Russell is 25 years old, lacks desire, LARGE body big arm.

He'll throw the ball downfield and will soak up the sacks, lets be honest the guy was promised to be a top QB and he failed, does he deserve a 2nd chance?

  5. Agreed - particulary because I think the rest of the division is very overrated. I'm betting the Pat's win at 10-6. Bills 8-8, Jets and Dolphins at 6 wins or less and people screaming for the coaches' heads.

There's no way the Jets will finish with 6 wins. The addition of Cromartie, Jason Taylor to the best defense in the NFL makes them only go up. I say Jets:11-5 Pats:11-5 Dolphins:8-8 Bills:5-11

  6. On the Bills site depth chart it's Jackson then Lynch

Special teams was updated. Spiller then Jones listed for PR. Jones then Spiller listed for KR

    McKelvin is #2 RCB.

Makes me go Hmmmm. Am I reading too much here?

Why is Mckelvin not # 1 KR?

The guy was explosive in his rookie year in the returning game and he is forgiven for his botched return in the pats game last year.

I bet by week 3 that depth chart will change.

  7. I agree. The formation that the Bills used against the Colts where three backs were in the backfield together and TE threw a 70 yd bomb to Evans was awesome! No matter where Spiller is on the depth chart, he will be involved in the Bills offense this year. Gailey has all sorts of plays that involve Spiller. Should be more intersting than last year. Stay realistic however. It will be amazing if the Bils go 8-8.

What has Whitner not made another genius prediction yet?

  8. People here seem to know nothing about Brohm. The reason he was never seen previously in the pros is because he was stuck behind the beloved aaron rodgers in Greeb Bay.

Brohm threw for 4024 yds, 29 TD's, 12 INT, with a 65% completion percentage for Louisville in a BCS conference in his senior season.

Brown threw 200 yds more and 6 TD's less in his senior season at Troy in a FBS conference.

Brohms in his 3rd year and has had 1 game of regular season experience. Give him a chance to be the starting QB for the Bills

  9. Both Chad Henne AND Pat White injured for Miami and out

    Who's gonna QB now

White is seriously injured and is being carted off now. Coach and all players are surrounding him, including Roethlisberger, who's right over him

Tyler Thigpen is now playing. He's another QB with loads of talent that the Bills should give a look at. He started a bunch of games with the Cheifs last year.

  10. I don't think it's that hard to improve. Wood will be back, Incognitto a good pickup. Lets see what Brohms got in the last two games. Pick up a veteran QB in off season. Trade up to get Suh and Clausen in the draft.

I say trade up to get Suh and keep the QB situation as is in terms of drafting. Maybe we could find a QB in the FA or we could just stick with Brohm for the year. We should wait for Jake Locker in the 2011 draft...depending on how Brohm does next season.
