  1. Cole was the shot in the arm this team really needed.

He cured the true illness with the offense yesterday.

It was scientific how he outmaneuvered all the flawed schemes surrounding him.

I heard many women in the stands asking what was going on and how we were suddenly winning and who was the golden haired hero?... their husbands all had the same answer... "A man".

The Bills are the best team in the AFC and it's really not even close.

I'm gona go out on a limb and say that they are probably a Suberbowl contender this year.

They are #2 in best odds to win the SB at all sportsbooks. Might be #1 if the Bucs lose.

    Jesus effing christ

so because Vegas says something its a done deal?  Did you not see the game?  Do your eyes not work?  the game and the crap oline play is what this post is referring to and the OP is right.   But maybe ill drink some cool aid and check vegas odds and live in fantasy...like you...genius.

Name one member of Jim Kelly's line that wouldn't start today on nearly any team, now name one that is currently on the Bills that would start on any other team but the Bills. Get the picture now? Game 1 pre-season, 2 starters = no chance"

When will u losers stop making excuses for TRENT?

    Heres how u all sound....

"umm derrr me smmart, me say offensive line no good"

"mommy, why doesnt trenty play good anymore like that time when i put his poster in my room and bought his jersey?"

"um yes it's the receivers and rb's fault, yes yes thats it, they are the reason, Lee evans is not good at all."

I cant believe people still get on here and say the same stupid thing, Trent is clueless and sucks really bad, not a little, hes not "ok". he sucks in every single facet of quarterbacking . he still runs sideways and backwards like a rookie when under pressure for christs sake.

he doesnt step up, throw hard, read defenses or make the right throw for down and distance, he cant anticipate at all, he fakes his reads and waits for the dump no matter what and never improves game to game, he is a total fraud and is milking idiot fans and coaches for as many games in the nfl as he can get. when will u people realize what a joke he is and stop blaming the entire offense?

"Mommy trent was 5 and 1 mommy 5 and 1! mommy he was 5 and 1" ...get over it!

  4. I heard Ross Tucker on Sirius NFL Radio this morning say a similar thing. He's not convinced Sanchez is a very good QB, and stated they will not go to the Superbowl with him as the QB

aside from bad games against us, i thought he looked good last year, far better than Trent ever did. He plays w balls, moves well in the pocket, and makes tight throws, deep throws. I am amazed anyone here could think trent is good and filthy sanchez isnt.

  5. My main concerns with Trent are not his confidence. I remember watching an interview on PTI with him last preseason and he was confident and relaxed.

My concerns are consistency game in and game out, getting the ball out of his hand and his inability to stay healthy.

You can't have solid games like he did against the Pats and Bucs to open the season and then follow those up with horrible performances against the Saints, Phins and Browns. His whole career has been like that.

    ...and then theres his health....

im glad he doesnt stay healthy

  6. The thing that astounds me is that many fans seem to think an NFL offense should consist of a Madden playbook. There's a whole lot more to winning games than having your fastest WR run a go route on every play. If that were the secret every team in the league would do it on every play.

Go look at the average completion distances and please stop talking playground football.

thats actually the only deep ball trent has ever thrown and....we are talking about mid range throws he never makes...also to be clear as to what you meant....Trent sucked for 3 years because we think the plays should be like madden plays? I think he sucked because he sucked.

  7. This might be a little premature of me to say, but is Edwards slowly growing some brass balls and getting comfortable in a system that might work for him? Some of you will say premature, and I acknowledge that, but I'm thinking Chan can get something out of him that no one else has been able to. Edwards may not turn into a franchise QB but maybe he'll be respectable this year. Only time can tell. I'm being a bit more positive about him though.

wow the balls to talk big about a practice, balls will be grown in games not before, his were taken from him back in the cleveland game...the second one he lost....on mon night...not the other one he lost 3-6, or the first one, 0-8, nice offensive production from trent against a great team, the browwwwwnnnnnsssss.!!!!!!...ick

  8. This is perhaps the most encouraging thing I've heard Trent say in quite some time, per Gaughan in TBN:

"Lee's one of the best go-ball route-runners in this league, I feel like. He runs them down, he pins the guy, he gets open downfield. We just have to protect. I've got to be able to let it fly. I've got to be accurate with it."

YES!, TRENT, YOU FINALLY GOT IT!

    LET IT FLY!

    STOP CHECKING DOWN EVERY PLAY!

Maybe Gailey can get through to Edwards after all? (or maybe I'm trying too hard to find something to be optimistic about?) I think all along Trent's problem has been confidence and a sort of psychological hesitancy. If Gailey can be Trent's shrink and get his confidence level back up, who knows, maybe he can still turn him into an NFL QB. He has the prototypical size. Let's hope Gailey tutors Edwards the right way and unlocks his dormant potential ...

Or am I just another irrational die-hard fan trying too hard to find a shred of hope as the season approaches?

when u said more confidence. i thought someone just wrapped him in a tampon with wings.

  9. My point is everyone is so quick to bury a kid who played at the highest level of his profession at 21. I wasn't a huge fan of the pick, but besides Whitner, I've never seen fans want to destroy this kid. Anything Maybin does, people want to hate him for it.

Maybe it's my fault, but I thought Bills fans were better than that. IT almost seems liek there is a group of fans hoping Maybin fails so they can say they were right about it on a message board. I think 10 or 20 years ago, fans weren't as irrational and so quick to insult.

yet the keep defending total losers like edwards who shown nothing to fans for three years (except his vagina)

  10. Anybody that understands the game of football doesn't need me to expand on it.

Looks like I have a minute before I take off, times have changed since Archie manning played, maybe back then a good QB could carry a team, nowadays its virtually impossible without good coaching/scheming to succeed and then you take the protection away its just not happening. Defenses are to sophisticated to go at it without proper coaching if you want to win football games.

    In my humble opinion anyway.

NOPE! the guy was actually right on. just look at aarron rogers, or other guys who play good under pressure, TE played like garbage always, hes never shown any flashes of talent. The best anyone can say is "5 and 1, 5 and 1, oh yes yes 5 and 1. SO those were typical dump off games where they beat weak teams. Once teams realised thats all he did, hes never been even slightly successful.

You really dont get it. Its his fault, he sucks period and when he gets a good oline and system, he will look average at best. Thats what u want? A guy who needs everything perfect to be average? Ill take 25 other starters right now over TE, who isnt better right now than him? the guys i wouldnt take are just equally bad, not worse.

  11. gee really Bill walsh said thaaaat?? really oh my god, no one ever knew that. So where did u find that news? do u have a secret inside source? I hadnt heard that since...um everyday. Um news flash, we have argued this out a hundred times. Bill walshes thoughts dont erase the proven disaster that is trent edwards. Um do you watch football at all????

  12. there is a post titled "what a idiot thinks" right now on the board. I think this should be titled "what a idiot thinks 2.0" and so on for all posts regarding trading lee evans.

When I read posts like this I think of a 4 year old playing with a lego set constantly moving the pieces around to make a new shape. Just so you know you dont get better trading away good young players, We almost drafted hardy first, what good is a pick if it busts? Lee evans is a # 1 and has shown this many times. How some people want to get rid of evans and keep edwards is unbelievable.

  13. Dude, you should be a lawyer, really. It isn't time to look at the QB yet. Edwards may or may not be a good QB, personally, I don't care. We have wasted countless draft picks chasing something that we can't have with our current team. Build up a team, then you can win with an average QB, which I think we have three of, or win big with a great QB.

We currently are unproven at every position, because we constantly reach at every position.

We should have put up with Collins or Bledsoe and built a viable team. Instead, we have been chasing our tail for a decade, while everyone else kicks it.

agreed im defending evans here, some people think the best pure talent on the team is the issue because ummm why? he didnt throw and catch his own touchdowns?, but TE does really suck, incredibly.

  14. I tend to agree, especially after watching TO come into town and out play Evans on one of TO's worse seasons of his career.

Thurman Thomas has even voiced his concerns/observations, this Bills football team needs more talent. We may like allot of our high motor, good character players, but when compared to other successful teams/players from a talent perspective, our Buffalo Bills lack talent.

by outplay you mean out drop, out misblock, or out not try for off target pass? you cant understand he had the ball thrown his way a good 50% more than evans did? he may have out stated evans in two categories but anyone that actually watches or has some intelligence could see TO was horrible, Evans won games for us w his play.

  15. Agreed. I believe you missed the rhetorical point of my statement, but rather than delve on that, I will simply say that he would be the #2 or #3 receiver on most if not all other NFL teams. And umm our other receivers would probably be returning kicks and playing on the scout team. When I say we have no talent at WR, I am speaking comparatively to other NFL teams, especially any team capable of winning half its games.

ya but you left out t owens and the fact that trent sucked with both ummm why???

  16. I am a statistician and I am calling shenanigans on that- you don't get a win in football. Sorry, but this isn't baseball. I do think trent will start and play as well as possible behind the worst OL in history

mommy its the o-line, its the receivers, its only my 3rd year... jesus when do u blame the actual guy whos job it is to throw the damn ball? i hope for a day when all morons grow up and realize when they fd up and backed a loser.

  17. Yea...."aweful" isn't a word. And believe me, there is no QB in the NFL that would have succeeded on any team Trent has been the starting QB for. The problem has been an utter lack of talent. No talent on the line, no talent at WR. Now I know you will say "Oh but he has Lee Evans." Please refer to my above comment about no talent at WR.

I'm not saying Trent is a good QB. I'm simply saying we certainly have not seen him play to full potential, and also that Joe Montana would look pretty terrible surrounded by this Bills team. And don't expect it to be pretty this year. It's always the darkest right before the sun rises, and this season should prove that out.

I believe Chan Gailey can and will do a good job, and that our draft was solid and I do like their apparent philosophy. But it looks pretty hopeless for the Bills this year and probably next year as well. After that - who knows. Will we fans allow Chan time to get his system fully implemented? Probably not. So really while I think Chan was a good hire, it will probably lead to rebuilding for 2-3 years while being mired in mediocrity if not down right horrible football, fans growing impatient because the system isn't working, Chan being fired, and the process starting all over again as we attempt to switch back to a base 4-3 defense (should be about fully phased back in by then). Oh yea - and then Ralph Wilson dies and the Bills become the Los Angeles Terminators. Pretty much sums up how I feel about the state of the franchise.

your obviously without mental talent to insult evans, a great receiver who has had no qb talent to help show brain deads like you how good he really is, um do you watch football or get drunk by the second quarter in a bar everytime and blame everyone else but the problem?

  18. I never said I prayed for us to win. I'm a realistic optimist. Nothing less and nothing more.

please don't put words in my mouth.

i didnt say pray, i said "pray" which meant that you seem to think it matters how pessimistic we all are, it doesnt, it depends whether the bills lose or win, if they won more, we wouldnt be. U asked why, thats why, or did you just want to bash the pessimists here? Are you a trent supporter too, is that the real truth youre hiding and asking "why?" hes alot to do with it.
