Such a bizarre, surreal scenario. Never can I remember a starting NFL QB being benched after what was probably the best game of his career.
Only in Buffalo...
You can already see multiple former players bashing the Bills for the decision. London Fletcher even recently referred to it as a "bush league move".
People can say what they want, but the Bills front office should do more to get in front of it if they care about attracting free agents this off-season. Of course, money talks the loudest, but if you're worried that the team will manipulate a situation solely to avoid possibly paying you, then you're not going to want to go there.

I mean really if TT doesnt turn the Ball over why is it only 24ppg.
Ooo i know the NFL leading 3 and out %.
3 and out similar to TO right quick change event
But lets ignore real football concepts to paint a pretty picture
Bills are 9th in 3 and out percentage. Continue looking like a fool. It's entertaining.
Want to know who is 6th? New England.
Can't wait to see you change the topic again.
Still waiting for a response on the above, Major. Can't wait to hear you "ignore real football concepts to paint a pretty picture."

Um, no. The Bills had a defensive TD against the Jags. Please factor that in before making more stuff up.
Argued this with him in another thread. According to the major - it doesn't matter that EJ averaged 2 turnover each game or that we were getting blown out in each game heading into the fourth or that it's a sample size of 2 games.
Never argue with a fool. They will bring you down to their level and beat you with experience.
EJ led Bills in this designed offense also avgs 26 ppg
And if they move on and the next QB is bad dont worry i will call him out routinely too
As per usual you don't answer the question at hand. You should get into politics.

EJ starts Sunday.
Doesnt scream well for Tyrod option
kdiggz started a topic on this almost 20 minutes before you but you had to start a new one since you have an unhealthy obsession with TT. Please tell me what this adds compared to what kdiggz had in his thread?
I hope you find the help you need in this upcoming new year.

Ok maybe this helps.
TT leads an offense with an Elite RB scores 25.9 PPG
Worst Rookie Wentz with a middle of the leage rushing puts 22.7 ppg.
Is it a stretch to think in 2017 a rookie in the Bills offense cant score 25.9 ppg?
Wentz was number one pick and has 14 TDs to 14 INTs. if you really think a rookie has a greater than 50% chance of not only coming in and keeping up PPG but also limiting turnovers, then that's a stretch and you have to know that. I could see a rookie doing one or the other, but likely not both.
Once again, I'm not saying th Bills shouldn't continue to look or even spend a high draft pick on a QB. The beauty of the new draft compensation structure is that the Bills can draft a QB in the 1st and not be hamstrung. Just like they won't be hamstrung by Taylor's deal either.
Dark Prescott is an exception, not the norm. The Bills could have made the playoffs this year if a couple of things happened: 1) Sammy stayed healthy. 2) Tyrod could have executed a comeback in 2 close games. 3) The defense wasn't below average. Why blow up a team that isn't far off?
-
I ageee, Bobby. Who cares about confidence levels or a margin of error. Representative samples are for nerds.Again Proof that any QB cant keep this offense that is centered around an Elite RB scoring?
Got it you cant answer it except say EJ only did it over 2 games far cry from 16
-
Wait we are talking scoring. EJ led that offense to 26ppg.
Ooo got it that hurts the rock solid scoring argument people think they have
Even with 2 TOs a game the bills offense scored 26 ppg with EJ
Hahahah.....clearly you don't understand the impact that turnovers have. Get a grip, man. You're grasping at straws now.
Let me explain so you get it - Turnovers bad. Turnovers give points for bad guys. No turnovers good. EJ do turnovers. Taylor no do turnovers.
-
Wait we are talking scoring. EJ led that offense to 26ppg.
Didn't address turnovers again I see, or that EJ directly led to them getting blow out early. Keep doing you, man.
You flopped from yards to scoring because you realized that you were wrong. And now you just ignore other direct questions because you can't answer them.
-
You know what also interesting is the scoring argument
So a Rookie or any other QB cant keep scoring? Only TT can keep the scoring up.
Yet with this same offense a very bad QB scored 52 points 26ppg last year.
So seems like a system ANY QB can score in. But then again scoring is a team stat.
Nice try, but this is a joke. Both games the Bills were getting blown out! The Bills were down 31-14 heading into the 4th against the Bengals in Manuel's first game, and then down 27-13 against the Jaguars heading into the 4th.
Manuel averaged 2 turnovers over those two games as well. Something Taylor hasn't done, and that you continue to neglect, as per every other argument.
At what point do you just admit that you don't have any reasonable justification, and that you just don't like Taylor.
-
Sorry for offending with an agressive tone i guess
Again how does Oakland pass more if they have so many rushing yards.
People have told me in threads the reason Bills dont pass more is because they lead the league in rushing and thats why they are 31st in passing.
Well Dallas is 2 in rushing not in 30s in passing
Oakland is 5 or 6 (not looking again) in rushing but not in the 30s in passing.
No one is denying that Oakland and Dallas have great offenses this year. They are both better than the Bills. Both teams are considered to have two of the best offensive lines in football (yes - even better than the Bills). Both teams have much better WRs than what Taylor has had all year as well. And yes, I think anyone in the "Church of Tyrod" will admit that both QBs have been better than Taylor.
What you don't seem to get is that the Bills are still #7 in scoring offense. Dallas is 6th and Oakland is 3rd. So I ask again, is that the comparison you want to use? I think I may get your handle now. You have to be Ricky Bobby from Talledega Nights. "If you're not first, you're last."
It's also clear you don't understand the gap between 1st and 5th in rushing (where Oakland is), and just how far ahead the Bills are compared to other teams. The Bills have 697 more yards rushing than Oakland. The Raiders have 1,009 more yard passing. The net difference is 312 yards for the season, or 20.8 whopping yard per game.
You have even a weaker case for Dallas, so I'm not going to even bother to break that down.
-
Let me break something simple down for you and everyone who keeps pointing to the Bills passing yards.Pick a name any name. Elite run game and 31st rated pass game.
Any qb will do. Only one has done worse
The Bills are 1st in rushing yards and 1st in rushing attempts. The Bills are 31st in passing yards and 31st in passing attempts.
Notice anything? Or was that too complex? If you're still confused, please take a minute and google "opportunity cost".
Not to mention - the Bills are 7th in points per game this year after finishing 12th last year. Just to be clear, what is the expectation here? Is it top 5 scoring offense per year or the QB has to go?
The Bills are a good offense by running the football and asking Tyrod to play mistake free. He does what is asked and does it well. Last I checked the Bills were on pace for the lowest number of turnovers in history. Discount it all you want, but that's an important stat.
So I ask again...what do you want? Is scoring not enough and you just want to see the pretty ball fly through the air?
The defense is the biggest reason why the Bills won't be in the playoffs this year.
-
Yep. And that team wins 6-8 games next year too.
Forgot wins are a QB stat. Taylor shouldn't have tried to leave that whole minute on the clock at the end of the 4th.
He also should have asked Rex to go play defense. Or maybe he should have taken the ball from Reggie Bush on that dumb reverse that put them in a 3rd and 20 situation.
-
Not if they have eyes and a functioning prefrontal cortex.
We'll see. Don't think Taylor is great but I can think of 10 other teams that would start him in a heartbeat.
Fact is - a player can develop on the bench. Cardale is raw. This years QB class is fairly weak and most will require time. Time that I guarantee you won't be willing to give any of them.
Defense lost the game today. Not Tyrod. If this defense finished in the top 10 like it was supposed to then this team makes the playoffs. Offense is top 10 in scoring. Taylors ability to pull the ball helps open up the running game - whether you want to admit it or not.
Taylors contract is manageable enough to bring him back and continue to try to find his replacement.
-
Hope you're wrong on Taylor
If Taylor isn't back do you think he starts for another team?
-
Run it twice. MG or Felton up the middle
I don't disagree. Just saying that NFL coaches are notoriously conservative. Mike Tomlin is probably one of the most "aggressive" and that's still not even close to what aggressive actually is.
-
Lmao they still can't even stop the run
-
That punt though is what 90% of coaches would do though and it's maddening. NFL coaches are a risk averse, non progressive, bunch of clowns. Would love to see the Bills be the first to break that trend.
-
Fitting Rex needs to go more than anyone
-
Sorry but Watkins needs to put his head down there
-
Have they not run on first down today?
-
Shady has been having a lot of negative runs over the last two quarters
-
Gillislee needs more touches here late in the game
-
Need to make Matt Moore beat you here
Bye bye Tyrod

I used the same site. They are 24th best which is 9th worst. I just filtered in the opposite direction since he said they are the worst, when they are not, they are in 9th for most three and outs as a percentage.
I don't disagree. And until the organization provides more transparency that's what they can expect. Uniformed remarks/beliefs until otherwise corrected.
