Please identify for us what exactly Maybin has actually done that you think constitutes him acting as if he were the MVP of the league.
He is one of a few draft picks left unsigned. I can't remember the last time a pick held out for this long.
The Knock on Maybin coming out of college is that he was only a starter for one year, and he only started because of injury.
I will admit he kid is physically gifted, but it looks as if he is going to be even more of a project than first thought.

I just think its time the Bills moved on. Unless he signs before the 1st preseason game.

I'm not defending Maybin, but could you explain to me what he has done to act as though he was the MVP of the league last year?
My statement was a little extreme, but he has been holding out for 2 weeks now. In my opinion that is a little conceded. I know everyone wants to lay it on the agent, but last time I checked his agent works for him.

It's not as if he's holding out for more money. The players around him haven't signed, so his agent and the Bills seem to be waiting for that to happen first so they can put an accurate contract figure in place.
The way rookies are signed in the NFL is stupid, and one huge collective action problem--but that's the way it is.
I think its going to backfire on Joe Segal. Because the Bills will say "sit home and come to us when you're will to accept our offer, and if you want to roll the dice and miss out on this years salary and re-enter the draft go right ahead".

There are questions about his ability? There were reports that he was horrible during OTA's. If he doesn't sign this week I say screw him. I don't understand how these rookies that haven't proved anything can act like he was MVP of the league last year.

Marcus is a ten year vet. He will turn it up come Sept. 14th. Why wear your body down when your 31 yrs old? He probably was suprised we have a lineman that can block. We haven't had a guard of Wood's caliber since Rueben Brown.

Maybin is due to be one of the highest paid Bills. My question is when do we say " Well we can't use you this year anyway, so you can stay home as long as you want. Have fun Aaron, I hope it was worth it!".
I would even consider letting hime re-enter the draft if that is what he wants. The Bills can use his contract money towards a free agent in 2010.

I didnt really dispute the carry over into the season from pre season. I just stated they didnt look good in the pre and for the overall season our run D stunk. 6 games of being good and 10 of bad gets ya ...um....7-9. Our D is too small and as the season grinds on the small bodies break down.
I think the run defense is going to let us down this year. I keep have nightmares of Jones, Maroney and Brown running over ellison!

Your posts are truly astounding. Each one better than the last. One question: Can you clarify the "thug/punk" classifications you cleverly used a couple posts back in describing Segal's clients? I've never went to Med School so naturally my feeble mind is having trouble understanding the distinction.
I call a "thug" someone who has been convicted of a crime. I call a "punk", someone that is on there way to being arrested.

I'm sorry I went a little far with the MVP statement. I am justn frustrated that a kid that only started one year is holding out for two weeks now.
