I appreciate his production. Glossy or otherwise. I don't appreciate it any more because he came the hard road. It isn't about buying into his character. I just don't think it is about where a person comes from. It is about where they are going. Story schmory.

But it will make for a better movie

Starting to lean RB in the 2nd and WR in the 3rd.....

I would be content with a combo of RB's Cam Akers/Jonathan Taylor, Anthony McFarland & WR's Michael Pittman Jr./Chase Claypool/K.J. Hamler/Jalen Reagor. They are different shapes and sizes, I know. But I would happy with these guys. How's that for covering my bases ?But if a GOOD quality edge rusher is not available, let's score some points !

People will say that, and the reason they will is because they were right, not because they are rejoicing.

No one is rejoicing the fact we are screwed without a franchise Qb yet again.   There is nothing joyous about that.

From what I have noticed on these boards, the people who are so convinced he is a franchise guy are emotionally attached to Allen.   People who mention how nice of kid he is, how he's doubted at every stage of his career, how hard of a worker he is, etc, etc.

Im not emotionally attached to Allen.   He's got a nice story and he's someone you want to root for, but that doesn't cloud my judgement.

When I evaluate him I evaluate him compared to his peers, his expectation, and his raw performance.

Im not going to deny it, Allen is the main reason we weren't much better last year. If someone asked me what was the weakest link of the 2019 Bills, its without question, Josh Allen.

Im willing to chalk it up as a growing year because he showed some growth, not as much as I expected, but this year there is no excuse imo.

Imo McD and Beane are both EXPECTING to see big growth this year out of Allen.   They are EXPECTING playoff wins.   They are EXPECTING points on the board and TDs.   They have both alluded to this.

Knowing what I know about McBeane, if Allen fails to really pave his way this year, they will begin looking intently for his replacement.

To be honest, I wouldn't be surprised if Cam Newton were brought in here as his back up/replacement if he falters this year.

I could absolutely see Cam leading this team while they draft another Qb.

The Panther connection is deep, Cam is proven, and its the ultimate insurance policy.

Don't know about the end of you post about Cam, but the rest is pure gold. If there is someone here who wants him to fail so they can be right, they are one sadistic S.O.B. But I find it amusing the pure hate from the Pro-Allen side. I would much rather be wrong and watch him hold up the Super Bowl MVP than be right. But fans come in all sorts. The difference is really the personal attacks from "Allen is great" side.

Would love okwara, when healthy he is a speed rushing nightmare. His havoc rate was right there with young before his injury.

Okwara, dobbins, pittman, diggs or Taylor

Would be very happy with the latter four. Okwara ? I want to watch plays other than a highlight reel. Not saying he isn''t gold, just want to see more.

I can not see any scenario where a RB would go top 10, especially since top end RBs will easily be there in rounds 2 through 5 without question as teams focus on QB and the trenches first.

'I have Josh Allen going top 10 without question IMO.  Not every GM needs to believe in him, just one on the board in the top 10 does and right now I would bet good money that the majority of the league sees Allen as a rising star who is a fiery and competitive leader, more than say a limited QB who is a passing liability.

My top 10 predictions would be:

    1. Patrick Mahomes - Duh
    2. Russell Wilson - I think he edges out Watson given he likely still has 5 to 7 top end years left and he is the better player right now
    3. Deshaun Watson - I think he edges Lamar out given he's more of a QB and more coaches know how to build an offense for him rather than Lamar
    4. Lamar Jackson - He may not go this high, would depend on the team picking given he needs an offense specifically built for him, but given his MVP season I am still putting him here
    5. Nick Bosa - Best young defensive player in the NFL.  He goes before Donald IMO as I think Bosa makes a bigger impact on win total than Donald does.  A total mistake IMO to not take a QB, but some GM is going to be enamored with Bosa and the impact he made as a rookie and take a guy on his way to being a top 5 overall player in the NFL.
    6. Josh Allen - Has one of the highest and brightest ceilings, if not the top ceiling, of just about any young QB not named Mahomes.  Youth and his significant improvements over his first 2 seasons and still being a dual threat makes him go early.
    7. Kyler Murray - Lived up to the hype and has a lot of upside, I think GM's here go for the upside over a more proven veteran.
    8. Dak Prescott - I am not the biggest Dak guy, but I think looking at whats on the boards and his personal stats, GM's will look his way over other veterans as he is younger than most of them.
    9. Carson Wentz - Not a big believer in him due to health issues, but teams are going to look for a QB early early early with all the runs on them and he has the talent, even though the body is not to be trusted.  A team rolls the dice here that they can keep him healthier and this team I would look to invest early and heavy on OL after drafting Wentz.
    10. Aaron Donald - Best DT in the NFL goes with less appealing QB options still on the board.  IMO anyone not taking a QB in the top 10 is headed in a bad direction as the pickings by round 2 are going to be very slim, especially if this is a snake draft.  But some GM is going to want the elite player in Donald rather than say someone from the Tier 2 pool (or even what some wold rank as tier 3) of QB's.

NOTE:  I did the list above based on how I think a top 10 would go with 10 GM's drafting.

If I was going to do this draft personally, I would draft Josh Allen at #4, and if not there certainly at #5.  I am sure I will get a lot of "homer biased" comments for that, but I truly believe Josh Allen has a brighter career future than Lamar.  I really like Lamar, but honestly, I have seen gimmick systems like Baltimore ran last year work very well early but lack sustainability once the rest of the league catches on with defending it.  And I truly believe the combo of the Niners and Bills games last year in back to back weeks gave the NFL the blueprint to slow down that offense.  And I am not sold that Lamar can be consistent enough in the pocket once teams neutralize the run all the time offense.

Please apply for the position of scouting director-----> for the Patriots. The only Josh Allen to possibly go in the first round plays for the JAGS

I think Allen would go top 10. It’s an interesting thought exercise...

A spin off question... who would be the first non-QB taken?

He would go in the top 10 rounds, for sure.

My mock top 10 picks if the NFL started from scratch tomorrow (I took age into account, because these teams are starting from scratch, so old dudes seem like bad picks):

    1. Patrick Mahomes
    2. Deshaun Watson
    3. Russell Wilson (a bit old at 31, but figure we can get a good decade out of him)
    4. Lamar Jackson
    5. Carson Wentz
    6. Kyler Murray
    7. Aaron Donald
    8. Myles Garrett

    9. Nick Bosa
    10. Christian McCaffrey

Note: This is clearly just for fun because I'm bored out of my mind in quarantine. Would be interesting to see how many players got picked before the first non-QB came off the board. For what it's worth, I do not believe Josh Allen would be among the first 32 picks.

Too bad we never has the chance to draft Mahomes or Watson !

It is not the same as a turnover how many times at the end of the game have you seen a team manipulate the system by voluntarily giving up a safety

That's what makes it more strategic. Up by six , 10 seconds to go and punting from your own endzone.  Or up by 11 with less than 30 seconds, Love these decisions

Let me guess?  Josh won't win the Lombardi because you coached lower division football and you have the wisdom to know all things QB?  Is this your motive and your illustrious coaching pedigree is your merit?  What if one were to say you never made to the big leagues because you were an overrated PE Teacher, because that is how you judging Josh.

LOL. New most non-sensical post of the off season. It's not worth discussing with you. Blessings to you !

You're looking for something that doesn't exist. A first round QB, runs 4+ years unless he sucks. Just jump on the JA train and try and go against your natural inclination to think everyone on your team will fail. The alternative is some journeyman you'll say stinks also.

Useless post of the off season. When did I say to get rid of him ???? I just don't think he will ever be good enough to win the Lombardi. You're logic is very flawed. Sorry bro but assuming I think "everyone on my team will fail" is really …..kind of  ignorant . Hoping that you are younger and will learn to not assign motives to people without merit. It can really hurt you in life. Blessings to You.

It's not just me WEO.  Most people would say the Bills win that game with Diggs in the lineup.  Now if you had said Sanders...

Majority isn't always right. Weak. Though you may be right. My conclusion is that Diggs would have been so pi$$ed at his QB's running when he was open or having inaccurate passes thrown his way that there may have been chaos

    Is there a reason why?

Pittman is a very good route runner and is very, very competitive (plays mad). I like that. But there is a kid that you might be able to pick up in the 5th/6th round name Isaiah Hodgins. He is only a 4.61 guy but gets open, catches everything, is about 6'-4"", and I think he's got to be 210 lbs. and almost 10" hands. He is going to play in this league and I've heard nothing about him. Maybe because he plays up in the Northwest @ Oregon St.

Good info...except Lamar Jackson is off the board.  He was drafted in 2018 by Baltimore

THE CB LJ never met a jersey he didn't want to hold. Needs to be coached out of that.

These are the players that interest me:

Rounds 3 - 4 Thaddeus Moss TE LSU - the blocking tight end we need with a NFL bloodline and championship pedigree, no need then for penalty flag #85

Rounds 4 - 5 Jonathan Garvin DE  Miami - if he is available in round 5 it'd be great value long term developmental prospect

Rounds 5 - 6 Michael Warren II RB Cincinatti - a hard runner who seems undervalued, in case we miss out on someone more favored earlier

Rounds 6 - 7 Danny Pinter OL Ball State - 4.91 40 at the combine, formerly a TE, he'd offer position flexibility and upside

Round 7 - UDFA Cole McDonald QB Hawaii - 6 foot 4, decent arm, similarish to JA, at worst a camp body, with experience a future backup qb?

Five others who may be of interest:

Stanford Samuels III CB Florida State

    Casey Toohill LB Stanford

    Joseph Charlton P South Carolina

    James Lynch DT Baylor

    Isaiah Hodgins WR Oregon State

I believe Hodgins is the best player on your list.
