  1. I agree you should never ever hit a woman. I have issues with minimum punishment most of the time. If things are black and white it makes sense, but that is not always the case.

It's not often we have a video as we do in the Ray Rice example. People make things up (on both sides) to get even. A fall or a push becomes a punch. I'm ok with guidelines for those cases where it's not cut and dry there should be some give, for the obvious over the top cases they should be able to make the punishment harsher. The Ray Rice example would be the latter.

  2. I live in Florida but am working in Charlotte. I'm not 100% sure it was a Charlotte station I was listening to but the host was telling every caller they were dumb. He would then say it was not their fault because it was genetics from his/her dumb parents mating.

He would then get in an argument with each person hang up and question why they were all upset. It never dawned on him he just insulted people's entire family?

In the end it was worth it because I heard a commercial for Sahlen's hotdogs available at a local supermarket, stopped in and bought a few lbs to take home. Forgot about all of the local transplants here. What else can I get from WNY in the Charlotte area to take back to florida? Should have looked for Webbers mustard, damn.

  3. I see it going much like the KC opening of a few years ago. Wish the whole season would go like that. Not sure why, but see a big win for the Bills.

I just see it as a good matchup for Buffalo. The running game dominates and it's downhill for Bears fans from there.

  4. Can he even own BOTH the Bills AND the Sabres at the same time?

Only if he uses the same players for both teams.

Can he even own BOTH the Bills AND the Sabres at the same time?

Only if he uses the same players for both teams.

    (tap talk error)

  5. This is simply an example of why a winning team is not focused on one player (be it Bradford or EJ) but instead is focused on actually building a team. I think the Bills braintrust is trying to do that (they may not make it but this is the correct approach in my mind).

The key to the Bills being good this season is NOT whether EJ is a great (or even a good QB.

He won't be. When EJ was picked it seemed pretty clear that he was not likely to be a rookie wonder. Even worse, he lost a lot of reps in his rookie year. I do not think anyone should plan on EJ being an adequate QB performer until sometime next year.

However, the Bills are correctly trying to build on their already top notch RBs (Jax and Spiller are proven productive , but the addition of Bryce Brown was essential given injury possibilities and FA issues. They also have assembled a massive OL with LT athleticism for most players. Further,,, they have a potentially great corps of 3 talents at WR.

Its not that the Bills need EJ to be good to win (this almost certainly will not happen for a year and change, what they need to make the rest of the ream perform so they can win with only merely adequate play from EJ.

But even if we assume EJ takes that massive step forward what happens if he gets hurt again? This team has NO depth at the QB position. They chose to ignore that one.

  6.

You know he's not in football shape from where? That's a serious question.

I don't want EJ off the team at all. I just don't understand why suddenly having him be a backup for a bit is a bad thing. Who has he had to compete with for a starting QB job since getting drafted? Nobody. Literally nobody. How is that a healthy situation?

Honestly I have no idea. But he retired and was not In anyone's camp. Dallas cut him in July because he did not show up for camp and prior OTR's. IIRC there were a couple of teams that went after him and he turned them down. Not like coming here would make him think he has a good chance at going deep into the playoffs. So I would expect he would turn down the Bills as well. I believe the Bears were at least one of the teams that spoke with him.

  7. I like how most of the people that say EJ will never be a good QB and want him off of the team immediately...

(replaced by any vet currently available. Including Orton who retired and is nowhere in football shape by the way.)

... always have a disclaimer in their post to the effect of, "I'm still rooting for him"

I'm lost are we replacing him with a light pole or not?

  8. Obviously Galisano wants the Bills to remain in Buffalo. Maybe he is just hanging around to ensure that happens. TPegs is the front runner and while it would be a shock it is possible he could let someone outbid him. Even though that is not expected.

It's possible that Galisano expects to let TPegs take it, but is informed enough to not allow a bidder that would move the team thus allowing him to step in at that point if needed.

Then again perhaps he is a big enough fan that he expects to outbid everyone. Hard to say because he has been very quite about his intentions and joining the party late seems a bit odd if he intended to outbid everyone.

  9. I think it was easy for JBJ to get led to believe things that were simply not true early in this process by the Toronto money men. Things like the Bills are moving anyway so the fans would love it if it were just to Toronto because it is so close. We will easily keep 25-30% of the current fan base.

However he should have seen quite quickly that this was not the case.

But I do wonder if the way they were treated in Buffalo "turns off" the potential of the deep pocket corporations in Toronto.

  10. I certainly don't think it is a main reason for wanting a new stadium but expect that the League and Bills will is it to curtail some of the drinking that goes on in the parking lots.

It's a black eye to the league ( to some extent ) and a way to increase revenue by selling more food and alcohol in the stadium. Much easier to curtail the drinking in the parking lots in a new stadium than by taking things away where they already exist.

  11. Is Lewis PS eligible? Or did he play too much last year. Keeping 2 QBs with Lewis on the PS may make more sense to hold another roster spot.

While I like the idea of picking up another QB, hasn't this staff had trouble in past years bringing QBs up to speed that were not here for the preseason? They would simply claim that they could not get him enough reps to learn the position. (Or was that the prior coaching staff?)

  12. I don't blame Jim. Unfortunately this came about at the worst possible time for him.

While I do think some of the demands could be true, I would question some of the specifics. No one on this earth would put up that kind of money and then hand final say in all football decisions to someone with a 2% share. It is simply so far out there I can't even see how he could ask for it. Based on this I question some of the other things he supposedly asked for.

A small equity stake, sure. A job, why not? Complete control, I just don't see it?

  13. I think they should give teams options on where to spot the ball. But the closer you put it the farther back you move the kickoff. If you take it at the 2 u kickoff from your 20, 15 then you kick from the 35, 25 you can kick from the 45. 2 point conversions are from whatever spot you pick.

Maybe change the kickoff points from what I suggested as I haven't thought it all the way through. But I think you get the idea.
