  1. First off, I really like that the Bills realize they need pass rush help fast, however not sure how this is

going to work out. Maybin was listed as 228 lbs. for the Senior Bowl I read, and then bulked up almost

20 lbs. for the combine, which has been regarded as a mistake.

At under 6' 4" and probably not going to get much heavier, this is not an every down DE and most likely

    never will be IMO.

    1. How does a Tampa 2 / Cover 2 use a situational pass rusher.

    2. This player would come in on passing downs only.

    3. Who goes out when he's in.

    4. Does this limit the use of nickel or dime packages.

    5. Do situational pass rushers really work.

Aaron Schobel is only listed at 243.

    and he does just fine

    Thanks.

  2. I was laughing at the pick at first because I'd never heard of him before, so I googled him to find out who the heck he was. I know highlight films have to be taken with a grain of salt, but he does look pretty badass. I mean if he would've been there in a later round its still a bad pick no matter how good he turns out to be, but sometimes that stuff can be very hard to tell.

Seems to have good instincts and hits like a train. I like him.

  3. This can't be accurate, though. I mean, McShay might spend his entire waking hours looking at film and talking to scouts and interviewing players, but he's only one guy. And on the Stadium Wall, there are at least twenty-eight guys on their couches with a bag of chips in their lap and they all say that our draft was a joke and our front office is an embarrassment for their selections.

And twenty-eight is more than one. Therefore....

I don't know about you but I'm a nobody and so are those 28. Twenty eight nobodys don't equal 1 somebody.

He may be wrong but he's qualified your nobody. Sorry if I offend you.

  4. Let's see how badly the Bills get fleeced on this trade---Philly already fleeced them pretty good by the Bills inexplicably allowing them to give them their 28th pick in the 1st round instead of their 21st...

Anything less than a 3rd rounder and I think the Bills got fleeced again---punt returners like Parrish that force teams to literally change the way they punt to you don't just grow on trees. When a team forces their punter to either kick very high and short, kick low so it rolls on the ground, or force him to kick out of bounds to avoid Parrish returning the punt, you automatically are gaining more field position on top of what he provides to you on the returns....players that cause that type of fear in other teams just don't grow on trees, and for the Bills to basically be looking to give him away for a 5th rounder, if those reports are true, just shows how clueless they are...

Would you actually expect Buffalo to do anything other than put themselves on the short end of the stick. The old man has to be making these decisions. Peters was worth more than a .500 QB. Those are facts.

  5. Exactly, The Bills never go after DEs that are over 260. They also shy away from guys who make tackles in the backfield. To get that many tackles for a loss, he must have been abandoning his zone to go after the ball carrier.

This is the type of player that would fit better in one of the 'good' schemes.

I really do not think the Bills go D-line on Day 1 of the draft.

I think the Bills like thier top 4 ends and will go into '09 with those 4 ends.

I think the Bills expect the pass rush to come from Schobel, Ellis and blitzes.

I hope I'm wrong, but I think the Bills really like Kelsey and Kelsey will be a starter and a captian in '09.

    Bruce Smith weighed 300

  6. This is possible, but he was pretty shot by the time he left Buffalo. That's all I was trying to say.

Are you crazy Rob Johnson needed a wall for an offensive line all JP needs is to be in an non-conservative offense if he was our QB this year he would be top 5 in the NFL. If he lands somewhere that he can compete for a starting job in a high powered offence you will see but because of the Bills he may not get that chance. You need to look at his numbers for passes greater than 20 yards. Maybe someday you will know what your talking about and you people will actually make sense. I can't stand reading all the garbage on these pages. Once in a while I see someone that might know what they are talking about but most of you sound like 12 year olds trying to talk football.

  7. This report, if indeed true, is likely to change. I never thought that JP was very good, but I do think that he is NFL worthy. Hey, Rob Johnson was given a shot by 3 teams after the Bills as I recall (Bucs, Redskins and Giants).

Imo, JP could perform as a capable backup qb on a very good team. He would probably have to start from ground zero in terms of learning the position. Good or no good, he was certainly not done many favors in terms of his career development from day 1.

  8. Impossible that it would be for similar to Cutler. Because Peters thinks he is worth 12 million a year he has some fans in Buffalo believing other teams agree with Peter's assessment of himself. Also, although LT is clearly a crucial position on a team, top LT's are not traded for the same value as top or potential top younger QB's. If the Bills HAD to trade Peters and got a number one pick for him, even a low number one, I would consider it a great trade from the Bills point of view.

Expecting anything beyond that is ridiculous and will never happen.

A left tackle with Peters athletic ability is rare commodity. He had a bad year last year because he is a greedy cry baby, but he is possibly the best in the NFL. Cry baby and LT 1st 3rd and a player. minimum
