The state of a division rival is far more important than many of the things that are discussed here.

Jets are a pretty talented team.......the Bills barely beat them both times they played.......could have easily gone the other way both times.

Fitz didn't play his best against the Bills but otherwise he was 10-4 against the rest of the league so they are pretty good with him in there.

    Without him........they are not.

How funny is it that REX RYAN caused all this by coaxing his malcontent defense to play hard enough to turn Fitz back into Fitz for one week when the chips were down. :nana:

If he pulls out one or both of those games, the Jets are in the playoffs and he has already signed for more than is on the table now.

  2. The best way to get more value out of Shady is to improve the right side of the line so it is better balanced. Without a doubt he is a top tier back who can make plays even when there is not much room to maneuver. Also, our running game is more essential for a successful offense than it is for most teams. So it is critical that the right side of the line is strengthened.

I'm a believer in TT. But I don't think he is the type of qb who is going to be a prolific passer. Getting a good running game going with McCoy and the other backs will help our qb play. That is another aspect where McCoy's presence has a positive effect for the other skill players on the offense.

Having other backs to rotate with McCoy will enhance McCoy's production and value to the offense. If he can stay relatively healthy for the next couple of years then I believe we will have gotten good value from his acquisition.

In hindsight would I have traded for him and then given him an enhanced contract? No. It is the new contract that he was given when he came to the Bills that gives me pause.

I think that, by far, the biggest mirage about the Buffalo Bills is that we have some sort of dominant rushing attack. I'd love to know (actually, I wouldn't) what our vaunted rush attack would look like if Tyrod Taylor wasn't one of the best scrambling QBs in the league.

People talk about our 2015 rushing attack like we just lined up and drove guys 4 yards back on every snap. To me it was one of the all time "smoke and mirrors" #1 rush offenses ever.

I hate to be such a fence-sitter on this topic, but both sides have really good points. McCoy is by far the top talent we have at the position. He may only have 1 or 2 good years left and he may be massively overpaid, but he's still still incredibly explosive. I think a lot of the free lancing stems from (like in the video posted earlier) not knowing if his blocking will hold up. if the line plays better and more consistently, I predict a big year.

  3. Great Back??????? really!!!!!!

This guy was finished a year ago and failed to tell the Seahawks.

Levy did more for the Bills than this ego nut job did, Levy is man with integrity, something Lynch cannot even spell.

yeah really. and we traded him in his prime for a box of tape. is this even controversial?

  4. I don't really disagree with any of this. Just two questions:

    1) did anyone question his effort the last 3 year pre Ryan?

    2) was he wrong about Rex's defense this year?

    1. 1st year, absolutely! 2nd year, less so...but occasionally. 3rd year not at all.

    2. he was wrong about it in the sense that he chose not to play hard...not to sabotage the D per se, but to protect his own interests as he knew he was going to be cut loose and didn't want to be hurt.

so we get it, you hate rex. but this p.o.s. prima donna really did us dirty last season. i'm thrilled he signed with Miami because i can't wait to see his overrated ass neutralized twice next year.

  5. This ****'s exhausting.

We do not need a new stadium.

WNY market is not ready for expensive PSLs and the crazy prices they pay in other cities. I have no idea if Pegula has the backbone or the capacity to stand up to them, but it's pretty obvious they're going to bang the drum till they get what they want

Clearly the other owners have not moved on from their fantasy of driving the Bills out of Buffalo. I'm sure they're still trying to figure out how to drive the Bills to Toronto.

  6. haha...yeah i guess. i was more referring to the 100, but yeah, it's time for the guy to produce or move on, i agree with that.

the fact that he can make an international team just training for football tells you all you need to know about the long jump these days.

...though having said that, it would be really cool for the entire planet to watch "Marquise Goodwin wide receiver for the Buffalo Bills of the NFL" at the next Olympics. He has a chance to medal and it would be some very cool publicity for the Bills.

then he can report to camp and get cut if need be...

It is true. I can't think of another event where the world records are so far back in the past. Any idea why? Better drug tests?

Biggest reason is that the best jumpers are generally the best sprinters, and few of them attempt that double any more. The training is so focused and specialized it's just really hard to do both. And of course, there is no money/glamour at all in the horizontal jumps compared to sprinting. The best kids give it up early.

  8. It sure looks like the only chance Denver has is if Carolina becomes stupid and overconfident. I wouldn't necessarily bet on that, but i don't think it's out of the realm of possibility. I really think Newton has a screw loose, so that might give Denver a chance (?).

Really, I just want to see Wade win, and that is the best I can do to make it seem plausible to myself. That was an absurd beating they put on Arizona last night.

  9.

Yolo, I think that 7.9 m jump is #2 in the world *this year*, meaning 2016, and the year is very young. So not that impressive, but..

The gold medalist at the 2015 world championships, a Brit, jumped 8.4 m. Goodwin's P.B, jump at the 2012 US Olympic trials was 8.33 m, and he won a silver medal at the 2015 Pan Am games with 8.27 m, which would have put him 2nd at the 2015 Worlds. So at his best, Goodwin is still one of the top jumpers in the world.

I still think he needs to make up his mind. Football, or Track. Either or, not Both. For football, he should be refiining his catching abilities a la Larry Fitzgerald and studying how to get off the line and avoid being jammed, possibly bulking up his upper body a bit. For track, he needs to take a step to rise to the top. He's close, but not consistently.

The $2M the Bills have paid him, well-invested, ought to keep his sister cared for and allow him to pursue his track career without financial worries.

i'm sure you know this, but he's only able to stay in track because the long jump has become such a weak event.

it's a long way from the days of powell and lewis.
