  1. Heard a "rumor" that the best method is to access Reddit nflstreams on a mobile device.

Find the game your interested in, and type that address into the FireStick Web Browser to run direct from the stick with no casting delay.

But no one does this, we all pay for Sunday Ticket or frequent establishments that have the games playing.

I think you're confusing cap hit with pay

    Exactly like CBend stated.

When a team cuts a player, they are no longer responsible for any more bonuses or salary.

However, they are responsible for the "pro-rated" amount of their signing bonuses and any other bonus structures to span more than the year in which it was paid out for.

This is where the "Dead Money" comes into play.  It is not necessarily money that we owe to the player, it is money that has been previously paid to the player that must be accounted for towards the Salary cap.

The host city would never go for a Saturday SB. That would be one less day the hotels and restaurants are filled.  When game is on Sunday, fans come into town on Thursday or Friday( and also allows for those who can’t get a weekday off to fly in on Saturday) and stay until Monday.

Move over the game to saturday, fans still come in Thursday or Friday and head out Sunday morning.

that is an interesting POV that makes a lot of sense.

That would diminish the return value of hosting the Super Bowl.

  4. I have always thought it was best to have it on a Saturday. Especially how big/main stream the event has become.

Between Kids having school and parents working, it limits the ability for some to attend social gatherings.

I understand we don't need another "Holiday" as not all jobs give employees those days off, but for the majority not working retail, having it on a Saturday would be better all around.

The only time I was comfortable with it being on a Sunday was the one year our Bills were screwed to play on 1 weeks rest.
I believe that is the last time that has happened too..

  5. i'm skeptical because they call out specific areas:

    Quote

Fans living in Buffalo, Rochester, Syracuse, Binghamton, Utica, Elmira, Watertown, Erie, Pennsylvania, and Albany, can follow along with the Bills on buffalobills.com at buffalobills.com/livepreseason and the Bills Mobile app, presented by M&T Bank, as they take on the Panthers on Aug. 9, the Browns on Aug. 17 and the Bears on Aug. 30.

Suggest everybody read the rule as highlighted in the PFT article.  It states that a player is down where he hits the ground, not where he initiated the dive.  The rule is designed to stop defenders from diving at a runner when he dives head first to prevent him from gaining any additional yardage.  Therefore, any runner who dives for the endzone will be down where he hits the ground period.  If he hits the ground in the endzone its a td.  If he hits the ground before the goalline, thats where the ball will be spotted.

Again, the rule does not say that the ball will be spotted where the dive begins, but rather at the first point of contact with the ground.  Sounds like a non issue to me.

Did you read the whole article?

Even at the end it states:

    Quote

Interesting indeed: Imagine it’s fourth-and-goal in the final seconds of the game, a quarterback whose team trails by five points drops back to pass, then sees an opening in the middle of the field, runs toward the end zone, and just as a linebacker approaches at the 1-yard line the quarterback dives head-first into the end zone. That won’t be a game-winning touchdown anymore. It will be the quarterback giving himself up at the 1-yard line. The first time that happens, there’s going to be outrage from players, coaches and fans of the losing team.

This will definitely be interesting to see how the league truly enforces this rule. Because the way the Article explains, the minute a player leaves his feet, his forward progress stops.

However, I believe the interesting part of the online rule is :

    Quote

as long as he gives himself up

So what defines "giving oneself up"?

I guess it is more directed at the awkward forward falls then the true head first dives

Yeah I was goIng to own the comment and take the loss but I should probably just delete it. I’m dumb

I posted mine about the same time as 26Corner....my connection was just slower...LOL.

Your not dumb, what I posted came off worse than what was in my head as I was typing it. Thought maybe you saw something different on her page.

I was confused when we drafted him at first when I was looking at highlights and it said Isiah, and I had to go wait a minute...never heard it abbreviated like that before, but that's where a lot of names/nicknames are becoming more frequent nowadays. But figured everyone was on the same page by now.

That is some ruthless **** if it is. Must not have bought her anything with that NFL money yet

That’s not his mom. Go to her Twitter page. It tells you who she’s a “mama” to

    Yeah, it does:

    Quote

    Mama Jones

    @ManeeshaJones

wife to Robert. mom to 6 amazing people. Cayleb. Isaiah. Levi. Leah. Priscilla. Ana. Native American.

So please explain how she isn't Zay's Mother?

  9. Looked up the rule on NFL.Com and it draws "opinion" into the definition of "touched" when reading #6. Unfortunately, there is no dates on changes to the rules to tell if this is a new addition to the rule book.

According to the Rulebook at NFL.com:

    subhead_rulebook.gif

    Digest of Rules Main

    Kickoff

    1. In addition to a kickoff, the other free kick is a kick after a safety (safety kick). A punt may be used (a punt may not be used on a kickoff).
    2. On a safety kick, the team scored upon puts ball in play by a punt, dropkick, or placekick without tee. No score can be made on a free kick following a safety, even if a series of penalties places team in position. (A field goal can be scored only on a play from scrimmage or a free kick after a fair catch.)
    3. A kickoff may not score a field goal.
    4. A kickoff is illegal unless it travels 10 yards OR is touched by the receiving team. Once the ball is touched by the receiving team or has gone 10 yards, it is a free ball. Receivers may recover and advance. Kicking team may recover but NOT advance UNLESS receiver had possession and lost the ball.
    5. When a kickoff goes out of bounds between the goal lines without being touched by the receiving team, the ball belongs to the receivers 30 yards from the spot of the kick or at the out-of-bounds spot unless the ball went out-of-bounds the first time an onside kick was attempted. In this case, the kicking team is penalized five yards and the ball must be kicked again.
    6. When a kickoff goes out of bounds between the goal lines and is touched last by receiving team, it is receiver’s ball at out-of-bounds spot.
    7. If the kicking team either illegally kicks off out of bounds or is guilty of a short free kick on two or more consecutive onside kicks, receivers may take possession of the ball at the dead ball spot, out-of-bounds spot, or spot of illegal touch.

This irked me a bit. In the end it didn't matter since we scored a TD anyway, but Tate missed a golden opportunity.

When a kickoff is bouncing toward out of bounds, Tate should have put one foot out of bounds before playing the ball. That would create a penalty on Miami and would have given us the ball on the 40. Instead Tate only got to the 19.

I know the Patriots pulled that BS on us before.  That is the rule, isn't it, or does it only apply to New England?

I believe the team that pulled this stunt on us was the NY Jets. (Confirmed: Leon Washington Week 8, 2008)  I was furious when they called it back then and was shocked to find it a legit call.

Not sure if this video is correct, as it wont load here at work: http://www.newyorkjets.com/videos/videos/2008-Week-15-Jets-vs-Bills---Leon-Washington/276f4a91-79d0-11df-ba56-acc8e62813e9

I was thinking the same thing when I saw the kick on Sunday and was upset Tate didn't pull the same stunt.

I haven't heard any reference to that rule being changed.

The previous definition if a player is out of bounds and touches the ball it is ruled out of bounds at that point of contact.

This rule was still valid last season:

    https://www.foxsports.com/nfl/story/packers-take-advantage-of-ridiculous-nfl-rule-to-magically-make-kickoff-go-out-of-bounds-092516

  11. you can run block down the field all day long, but you can not run block on a pass.  And that was exactly what it was. he wasn't running a pattern, he was engaging in a run block. They ran the play action, and I wonder if the WR knew it was going to be a pass to begin with. I could see the WR screwing up the call thinking it was a run, cause he could have easily ran a pattern there and slowed up Hyde just as much.

Gruden has been very outspoken about Peterman.  Here's another such article from the Boston Globe.

    http://www.bostonherald.com/sports/patriots/the_blitz/2016/12/jon_gruden_tom_brady_is_the_best_quarterback_i_think_thats_ever

He doesn't exactly mention Peterman by name but I think we can definitely rule out the possibility that he means Tyrod. You do the math.

What are you smoking, that article is all about Brady..not Peterman.

Unless there is a hidden innuendo in that somewhere that I was oblivious to.

  13. Burlington County Times article on Streater provided this nugget.

    http://www.burlingtoncountytimes.com/sports/high-school/nj/schools/burlington-township/never-bet-against-bills-wide-receiver-rod-streater/article_6ab53e0e-8511-11e7-8ff6-0f8ef8f70e9a.html

The preliminary word from Streater, after X-rays at the stadium, was a dislocated toe, but no break and no apparent tissue damage.

Luckily it looks like it isnt broken, Streater said. Thats a win for me. I made it out. Hopefully, it will heal quickly so I can get right back out there. Ill be just fine.

  14. I know I am in the minority here, but I believe this is a smart move.

His draft class has alot of Stud WRs in it. Most of them are getting 5th year options. The 2nd and 3rd rounders are not.

So what does this mean: He has a good/great season this year and they work out a solid contract for him or franchise tag him and continue it.

If they 5th year optioned him, they wouldnt be able to negotiate the new contract until next year when the other studs are getting significant raises and they are competiting number wise compared to age.

Also if they tagged him off of the previous 5th year...that tag would be higher too because it has to be a percentage above his previous year salary.
