  1. I can't believe what I saw today.  The team comes out and executes with some pretty efficient play-calling and a run-based strategy.  Yes, Losman has to scramble his way out of some jams, but he does it.

    Then:

    - The offense abandons the run almost completely.  I counted 18 rushing plays, 16 for Willis.  Completely unacceptable.  I am fast losing faith in the offensive playcalling.  If Mularkey is in charge of it, he's doing a shite job of it.  If it's Clements, Mularkey needs to do what Jim Fassell did a couple years ago and take control of the play calls.

    - The defense refuses to back down from a strategy of flushing Aaron Brooks out of the pocket.  Rarely did they put a spy on him.  Our front four is simply not fast nor strong enough to muscle through a line or keep up with a rushing quarterback.  Bonehead penalties on critical 3rd down situations, laying down on 3rd and long?  What happened to forcing turnovers, what happened to the D that would "win the game for us"?  This is NOT by any stretch of the imagination an elite defense.  In some stretches I'd even go as far as to say that it isn't NFL caliber.

    - Mularkey continues his search for the easy gimmick solution by inserting Holcomb when Losman is not the main problem.  The interception was not good, and Losman did not look great. I did think he displayed again in moments that he can run an efficient game and make some things happen.  However, when he has receivers dropping balls, it can't help his confidence.  I thought he threw the ball with some zip today and generally was on target more than he was off.  I definitely didn't feel he was struggling enough to put in Holcomb for a "spark," as he was in the TB game.  This is going to cause problems, moreso because Holcomb is NOT the guy who is going to take us to the promised land.  We already know this.  Let Losman be the rookie he is out there and get an education that will lead him to success.  It ain't gonna happen if the coaches are playing head games with him.

The big problem, and it has been a recurring one, has been the playcalling and game strategy.  This is on the coaches.  The guys look unprepared, they're not playing focused ball, and they don't look like they have a direction.  We don't look like we're preparing for other teams' strengths and weaknesses, and we don't play to our own strengths.

I don't think the wheels are falling off yet, but I'm going to say again that Mularkey needs to find his way, and he needs to do it now.

excelent post! I couldn't agree more! I was screaming at the TV "RUN THE F%#@IN' BALL" from the begining of the second series through the end of the game. I can handle a loss, but for Christ's sake be competitave!!!

  2. APC has a set of selectors on their web site.  Really depends on what you need to be powered...PC, what size/type monitor, accessories,etc...I've personally always bought APC and have never had a problem...8-10 hours is awfully steep though...

Select which one you need there, and use the sites in the pinned consumer sites thread to price it...If you feel brave you may want to check eBay.

Thanks, this helps out alot. I have rainfall/lake level information that needs to come in at a constant. We have a building that is on a backup engine were I keep it during hurricane season. Now it looks like some screwballs have been messing with the PC and as a result I have weeks of data. Now I can bring the PC back to the office, hook it up to this unit and eliminate the f**k-up factor.

  3. I'm not one of those "The refs hate us" guys, but OMG! There were a couple of late hits that were just ridicules. There was also the intentional grounding call that wasn't made that we will get a nice apology fax from NFL HQ's that will make it all better. Lets focus on the late hits, In Vicks case, When is a QB a RB? Think about it! When does a QB magically become a RB. IMO Mike Vick is a RB/QB and should be looked at that way by the ref's. This straddling the line crap was one of the factors that cost us the game.

  4. Ahhhh the Stone Jug!  Was there a couple months ago.  Youngstown just ain't the same w/o Commerfords.

As for Honeys, the reason nobody mentioned it is because it SUCKS!  Now, if you get the pizza there (well, the old Pine Ave location) at 3AM...drunk...and eat it there...then, it's just bad. They used to bring Honey's pizza to school events all the time (North Junior...RIP, NFHS), for fund raisers and such.  Freakin' cardboard with red goo on top.  Yeech!

WOW, I remember it being real good in the early '80's?? They were the ones with the big elephant holding the tray out front right?

Hey Ass, remember RRDD(aka R2D2 aka Double R double D)? Right down from the Stone Jug. I worked a the Fort for a couple of years and we always went there for "Pizza fingers".

I can't believe no one has mentioned Honeys Pizza and Wings in NF????

  7. We have had a few excellent ones over the years, but TKO has a combination of size, speed, skills, athleticism, playmaking ability, production and star quality that IMO is unmatched, and I have been watching the Bills since the mid 60s.

He kills people, he's as good on the run or the pass, he's consistent, he has remarkable hands for INTs and picking up fumbles, he can be a terror on blitzes, he plays all downs and has the speed to be all over the field, he's good fundamentally, he's smart, he never lets up, he rarely if ever has a bad game, he rarely misses tackles or opportunities, he never misses a game, he's respected and known around the league as a stud, he scores touchdowns, he's made it to the Pro Bowl and he makes spectacular highlight reel hits and plays. And he comes across as a great guy. We really have never had that total package of consistent stellar, spectacular play.

Be careful not to sell Talley short. I agree that TKO is great, but it's easy to forget how good other players were. Some become mythological like Kelly, thurman and Smith others because you don't hear there names that often, become forgotten. Talley is my fav player of ALL time.

  8. Hey, compared to last year it was great.  Last year we would have lost that game.  I guess you know we were 5-11 and won 1 - 7 on the road  last year. So to start the season off with a win and on the road I'll take it.

Any time a team, I don't care if it's football or a spelling bee, can go to the competitors place and win it's a BIG DEAL!

  9. I dont think they are similiar at all.  Maybe in terms of offense they are close, but the Bucs Defense is FAR superior to the Texans.  Our offense better be ready for a huge test in the heat next week.

    437552[/snapback]

I'll agree that they have a better D-line, but there LB's and secondary is poor. Sure they have Brooks, but thats about it.
