  1. I really like our young receivers - especially Steve Johnson, Having TO will open things up, but I would like to see the Bills sign Harrison. Can you imagine running the no-huddle with 4 WR - Marvin, TO, Evans, & Reed - or lining up TO as TE with both Jackson & Lynch in the backfield Evans wide, Reed Slot and Marvin split - if you are calling the defensive play would your head spin?

Or how about we sign Boldin, Harrison, Plax, and hell, we will get Brady* somehow too!

    ...when will this nonsense end??

  2. I know it is already an area of strength, but the Bills should go after Boldin. It may only cost a second round pick as has been discussed on this board already. The truth is...Owens is gone after this season. We don't know anything about Steve Johnson or James Hardy. Reed is a nice #3 and Parrish will never been more than an occasional option in 4 WR sets.

Boldin is young. Boldin is talented. Boldin is a top 5 wide receiver in this league. Boldin's style is opposite of Evans; therefore, his play is complementary to Evans and to the offense.

He is the best player available and a difference maker. There is not another player being discussed in free agency or the trade market with as much value as Boldin.

Does he fit a top 3 need for our team? No, but he does fit a future need after Owens leaves, and if a special player in the league is available, you go after them.

In Madden money is electronic, but here in the real world, money isn't infinite. :pirate:

  3. OK guys, as we all know, Madden 09 can tell the future and in a recent franchise I created I made the bold move of trading Edwards for Favre and then drafted Stafford. Surprisingly enough, our beloved Trent became a Pro Bowler his first year at the Jets. Therefore, Trent will become a Pro Bowl caliber QB very soon. It's just that simple :w00t:

  4. RWS was that loud all game when we played Dallas on Monday Night. Loudest crowd I've ever heard in Buffalo.

    PTR

I agree 110%. The whole stadium felt like it was shaking the entire time especially when TO dropped the 2-point conversion real late in the game. And the field goal that Folk nailed was the loudest I have ever heard a place be in my entire life. Such an amazing atmosphere.

  5. Last year our pass protection was damn near excellent with Walker at LT and Chambers at RT. Not to mention, Bell seems to be progressing very well.

Now we've got two 1st round picks, a 2nd, a 3rd, and two 4th rounders. That is some serious ammo that could be used to improve this team. Let's see how we come out with those picks before we get upset.

Also, the conditional next year interests me. You KNOW Peters is going to make the Pro Bowl regardless of how well he plays, so would that pick turn into a 2nd? a 3rd?

I'm pretty sure, but don't quote me, that if Peters makes the Pro Bowl then its a 1st. Not sure of much else though.

  6. Crabtree will never make it to 11. But if he were there, the Bills have to consider him. He is a potential difference maker for years to come. While DE is more of an immediate need, they Bills might have Crabtree rated so much higher on there board that they have to take him.

I would not be upset with this pick.

I would have to agree with you. If he is there at 11 (stranger things have happened) you can't pass up on a pure talent like that. Especially since TO is not guaranteed in 2010 and the jury is still out on Johnson and Hardy. Plus, if we trade Parrish, there's our new PR. Crabtree is probably a Pro Bowler within 3 years IMO.

  7. I think TE and DE, one way or the other, are the first 2 rounds. You still have OLB and Peters/Replacement as the wild cards. I think it was interesting that the Bills brought in Vontae Davis--who would be there at Pick 28. I think a trade (possibly Draft Day) is in the works.

Come on now.. we all know we are taking two DB's in the first two rounds...

  8. The problem with trading Parrish is that he's actually a solid contributor who adds value, and the best they'll get for him is a 3rd rounder who probably won't contribute much. What's the point of trading him? To me it just seems like a lot gears churning to no end at all. Keep your contributors!

The last time the Bills went down this road is when they balked at paying Kevin Williams $1 million and instead settled for Chris Watson as their punt returner in 2000. That was of course a total disaster, and probably cost the Bills a game or two.

I mean, you have to really try to average 4.9 yards per punt return!

When people talk about trading Parrish it really just blows my mind. I mean yeah, we have McKelvin and McGee too but as other people have stated, there is too much to risk by having them do everything. We can't have two key parts of our defense this year getting popped like that a few times a game. Parrish's return on opening day last year was probably one of the best punt returns in history and most people are trying to get rid of him. He is way too valuable to lose and I can't imagine how April would react to that. Bottom line is, we keep Parrish. Period.

  9. Skip Bayless is one of the most ridiculous sports analysts in the business' history. I have come to believe that he never has anything useful to say and usually avoid watching programs with him in it. He is so negative about everything that I just can't stand him. He is simply a complete moron.

  10. I disagree with the new ruling because I feel that the NFL has gone too far to protect QB's in this league. If the injury happened to TE or any other non-marquis quarterback nothing would have been done about it but since it's Tom Brady they have to change rules. I know the NFL is about making money and having your key players in helps, but what about the integrity of the game? I mean it is a contact sport after all...

  11. Athletes are in top shape, metaboically, as well, and I think that they can handle, again metabolically speaking more

alcohol than the average Joe, that and the tolerances that the develop, so I could believe that over a relatively long period,

(3-4-5-6 hours)they could and probably do consume an astronomical amount of liquor, 50 might be a reach, but 30-40 not out of the question at all, cite my Wade Boggs earlier post refernce. I was just saying, for him to have stopped at Midnight, and still be at .12, he would had to have consumed more than you are thinking, even if he had stopped at 3 or 4 am, to be a .12, he was pounding them. Rememeber , if you pound 7 drinks back let's say in a 1/2 hour, you are close to .12, but over 2 hours, you will be slightly under the limit, again if you are 220 lb.'s.

To those that say it is a mute point, Did you stumble on to the wrong site, this is a discussion board, um...

    we discuss stuff.

BTW, it is a mute point, as it is what it is, a sad and very tragic story, and my thoughts and prayers go out

    to both famalies.

A comic was telling his grandfather an Irish Joke, and he Said, "Grandpa, two Irisman walked into a bar", and his Grandpa interupted him with "of course they did"

You do make a good point about his conditioning. And yes it is a very tragic story and I hope I didn't come across as I was downplaying the severity and tragedy of the event. My condolences are with everyone involved.
