  1. Honestly at this point unless we are in the midst of a "playoff run" and could really use him I don't care if he plays. Let the Coaches and Whaley see what the other safeties on the roster can do, let them get experience that way they can figure out how they want to proceed in the offseason. I believe the ship on Byrd signing long term has sailed.....

  2. I loved the bit when Jim said he'd only spent an hour or hour and a half with Marrone a couple months ago. He said after speaking with him "I wanted to put my pads back on." He said that his enthusiasm was pretty amazing (my words his inference) and that he'd spoken with current players and they feel the same. He also mentioned Hackett and his enthusiasm and how he said "he never imagined he'd ever be back sitting in his office again as OC." Who knows how it will play out. I have always liked the selection of Marrone as HC. Maybe Gailey was so beaten last year (remembering his demeanor and the look on his face in postgame/weekly pressers) that Marrone just seems 180. But I think its more than just buzz I think there's something to it. Anyway listening to Jim and Steve has been pretty cool thus far.......

  3. Don't live vicariously through your favorite sports team.

Everyone here relates to how you're feeling but you have to separate the Bills fortunes from your own.

When/if you're successful in life, the Bills ineptitude won't weigh so heavily.

If your life is good, you already know all this and disregard if necessary.

I agree. I was Awful at doing this 10 years ago. Perhaps I grew up or perhaps I've just come to accept that we've become perrenial losers. However, I remain (guardedly) optmistic at the beginning of each season. I look forward to the games on Sunday. I dont get nuts like I used to when we lose and it doesnt ruin my week like it used to. Its 3 hours a week I watch and enjoy being surrounded by good friends drinking beer and hopefully the "movie" ends the way I hope. Sometimes its a horror show (like the pats/49ers beat downs this lastseason). Sometimes its a feel good movie (pats and raiders wins 2011). I was so/so on Marrone's hiring. The more I thought about it I love it. Its different than anything we've done in the last 20 years. Things have changed since the Glory years and it looks like the Bills are finally changing too. If it doesnt work out at least its not a repeat of the same exact 12 years (up and coming Coordinator or retread) at least they tried something different.

  4. I agree w PTR- the media - espn nfl etc were all saying how great our D was going to be and how great the Mario signing was and now they feel like idiots. It was one game. I was there I saw the ugliness first hand and granted Mario did nothing against a UDFA rookie but Im not ready to call his signing a "bust" yet. And even if he ends up doing nothing I dont fault the front office for signing him. We had no pass rush. They go out and sign the absolute best pass rusher available. If we hadnt signed him we'd all be complaining that the Bills are cheap and didnt sign the guy we needed. As far as Fitz goes....I want to like him but if he keeps playing like he has the last 9 games (not counting preseason) we arent going to win many games with him behind the center......

  5. I stopped going to the Bills jets game at the Meadowlands 7 years ago after ending up in a fight w a guy I attempted to walk away from and then breaking up fights in the parking lot between NYCBBB members and jets fans. Went to the Bills Giants game last year (Giants fans are totally different than jets fans) and had a great time. Decided to go to the jets game this year because it was the opener. I was skeptical but fortunately had no problems. We parked in lot 26 by the Bills tailgate and it was a lot of fun......well that is till the Bills took the field......

  6. GQ: What's the one thing that pisses you off the most? What sets you off?

Mario Williams: Fans get me going. The worst thing to do is talk junk to me before I'm about to go against your quarterback. Whenever I get trash talked by fans at an away game, that's the best motivation. Because I know if I get the opportunity to get to the quarterback, it's going to be even worse now. If there's a fan telling me I'm garbage and my team sucks, you're talking directly to me. And I'm going to take it out directly on your quarterback.

    I LOVE IT!
