  1. Not that I really care what you think of Magox, but I'm certain that I can find a near-carbon copy of some of your posts all over this forum. Posts that re-hash the same argument over and over have nothing original about them, so that's kind of like the pot calling the kettle black.

Again, not that I care, but I thought I might point out the irony.

Take a look at the number of posts I've made...obviously a new comer to these parts. On a blog with thousands of posts, do you really think i've read all of them. Aside from that point my posts are my own musings and dilusions, most of which are completely unrealistic. At least I don't copy and paste a bunch of stats and draw a conclusion so similar to several NFL analysts and pass it off as my own.

Now, if you want to have a serious conversation about the greatest sport to ever have been played, start a new topic that is worth an "original" thought.

  2. You obviously live in LaLa land.

In today's game of football you play football players their percieved value or you suffer the consequences. Don't you get that!? To many people here just don't get it!

Peters is worth a lot more than $3.5 Mil a year. Of course his agent is gunning for more money, that is his freaking job. Give me a break, No wonder he fired his last agent. Think about it for a sec, if you are able to. Peters, ProBowl up and coming LT (footballs most coveted position after QB), getting payed well below the LT average, and third most on the Bills O-Line with over 3 years left on his contract (going into 2008). What do you do? "Be a team player and good boyscout" and lose $20 Million dollars. Or do you hire one of the best agents in all of football and he advises you to play hardball. DUHHHHH!!!!!

    You listen to the agent!!!

So now what do we have? A disgruntled probowl LT, who wants what is rightfully his! FAIR PAY!!! Nothing more, nothing less.

You pay the man what he should get, you will have a happy player, and we get a happy Probowl LT that will Protect our QB's blind side and pancake DE's in the ground game for the next 6-7 years.

But of course, "smart People" like you and Senator don't see that.

    Q. Why are you so belligerent?

    A. You're a jackass

    B. You watch too much ESPN and don't have an original thought

    C. You rant about fair pay, when no one said anything about contract negotiations

    D. You're a jackass

    E. All of the above

  3. Scenario #1. AZ needs a LT BADLY, to replace Gandy. We have one and need an elite WR to complimant Evans' deep threat...som, trade Peters and swap 1st's with AZ for Bolden...spend the $$, Bolden fits perfectly with a check down offense as he can create yardage after the catch.

Scenario #2. Baltimore will be in need of a CB, as they won't be able to hold on to both, or either for that matter, of thiers. We need a dominant OLB...so, trade Mcgee and swap firsts with Baltimore for Suggs. (assuming we re-sign Greer.)

Scenario #3. Folllow 1 & 2 until you get to swapping 1st's w/baltimore, make both trade, but give baltimore McGee and our 3rd, then trade Lil' Roscoe and our 5th for someone's 3rd rd pick.

There is Genious in this post, I know it! On the contrary, if there is, it's too smart for the Bills' front office.

  4. On Feb 28th the strike of midnight the Bills will have signed no one... By 12:30 Many posters will start calling for Brandon's head....

March 1st Noonish... Still with no one signed many members of the board will be livid by the fact that no one has signed.

Around 1pm. Annoucement of BIG Name Free Agent #1 coveted by many on this board will sign for 6 years 8 million per season... Poster who orginally thought Big Name Free Agent #1 would have agreed to come to Buffalo to play on the cheap. Something to the tune of 6 years 2 million per would have got it done.... Outrage and anger... Then posts stating that not spending that money on one player was a wise move by the Front Office. We need to protect our salary cap structure as if it somehow impacts our own personal credit rating...

Around 7pm still no one signed.. WTF posts begin to bog down the board.

Around 9pm another trade Jason Peters post arrives with the phrase "Now hear me out" leading the post off...

March 2nd..... First Ralph Wilson has made the HOF and now could care less thread makes an appearance on the board. Followed by posters asking for patience.

March 2nd around Noon.... Chris Kelsay has been cut by the Bills. Posts that state that Brandon and this Front Office finally get it arrive on the board.

March 3rd. Trade Donte Whitner and Jason Peters posts continue to flood TBD. All of which make perfect sense as the Buffalo Bills FO and scouting department has done such a fantastic job with existing 1st day picks. John McCargo, JP Losman, and James Hardy..... But trading proven players for the opportunity to draft the likes of these studs again makes sense somehow.

March 4th... First Bills signing announced. Little known LB terms of the deal is 5 years 24.5 million. 5 million a season... He must be an up and comer none of us have ever heard of but this crack front office team we have is on to something...

March 22nd Second Bills signing announced. DE backup signed. 4 years 17 million. Will be primarily a backup.

Draft Day- Bill reach and take Brandon Pettigrew with the 11. Passing on some stud DE and QB Sanchez. In the second round select Max Unger Center.

Fans declare the days work the final pieces to the Buffalo Bills 2009 Superbowl run.

2009 Season- Bills flirt with playoffs, lets us all down, finish 7-9, Jauron is let go and we rebuild again. Rinse and Repeat for next 5-10 years...

Sorry it is a slow Monday!!

None of this happens, a divine intervention takes place and the Bills make some good decisions, you join the posters that the Bills will make a SB run in '09. Reverse psychology doesn't always work, but I like yourr pesimism, at least you won't be let down b4 the season starts!

  5. 1. Brian Cushing. With no DE's that fit the 4-3, Cushing is the pick. I doubt many will complain.

    2. Michael Johnson. A gift, Needs work, nasty pass rusher.

    3. Travis Beckum. this guy has dropped off alot of people's radars. but not mine. We so badly need a TE that can make something happen AFTER he catched the ball.

    4. John Parker Wilson. Hamdan sux. worse than JP, which scares me.

    5. A.Q. Shipley. Preston and Fowler , you are on notice. get better or get out!!

6.Robert B. Conelly. we need a gaurd that can pull. not just be slow, fat and space consuming

7.Alex Field (DE, U of Virginia) needs a lot of work, converted TE, awesome athelete.

    other musings.....

    I think we trade Parrish.

I would love to see us re-sign Greer and try to deal McGee( whom we will lose to FA next year) for a standout TE.

A great pass rush isnt dependant on the DE's. I think with Cushing blitzing ala Kawika Mitchell style( up the gut fast as hell) and a healthy Schoble plus Michael Johnson( I truly beleive he drops to the 2nd) our pass rush woes may be over.

Peters holds out again, this time, the coaching staff really turns on him, locker room rift, bridges burnt, Peters traded before deadline. God help us, Demetrius Bell.

2 DE's, no DL, no S, and a QB in the 4th...? R u trying to make Buffalo dislike the Bills so much that they will move? However, I do like Conelly in the 6th, and your foresight into the potential trades is good, accept there are no standout TE's worth trading McGee for, not even Owen Daniels.

  6. I' will sleep with one eye open after this post...

I LOVE Lynch, but trade hiim to AZ for Boldin....whoa!

Sign T.J. Houshmanzedah, I know he is very interested in Philly...

Trade Lee evans to St. Louis for their #2 pick, they need a receiver

Sign Kerry Collins to compete/mentor Trent

Sign Matt Birk, This might be a challenge as Minnesota will likely try to keep him

    Sign a OLB, Hill(Seattle)/Suggs(Baltimore)

    Take Raji @ pick 2

    Take Brown @ pick 11

2nd round pick is Coffman, TE, Mizzu

3rd round pick is Eric Wood, C, Louisville, he's a rock with 49 consecutive starts

4th round pick is Sherrod Martin, S, Troy State

5th round pick is Jason watkins, OT, FL

6th round pick is Brannan Southerland, FB, Georgia...a pure blocking FB

    7th round pick is Jose Martinez, K, UTEP....made a 64 yrd FG...that's a boot!

Then i might buy the Bills being 09's Cardinals.

    ROTFLMAO!

  7. I'm with you Bandit.

If Bo was so good the Titans wouldn't be having ideas of letting him go.

I would really like to draft James Casey from Rice in the 2nd round.

would you take Coffman if he's still avail. or are you sticking with Casey?

  8. First off, this post is all over the place. You have multiple things going on. Second, philly is not going to get rid of mcnabb and buckhalter is westbrook's backup.

All over the place? It's 1 scenario. I didn't say Philly would get rid of McNabb, I merely stated the obvious, age! Same with Buckhalter (provides a change of place, but is not a homerun threat). These guys aren't getting any younger, and Philly has failed to take it to the next level. Perennial playoffs, 1 superbowl appearance since the McNabb era began...Maybe it's wishful thinking on my part as I love the idea of getting James and moving Poz back to the outside where he excelled @ PSU.

  9. With all the top rated DL players likely to be gone by pick 11, a very possible scenario is trading down. Let's face it, with this years controversy, and the fact he's getting up there, McNabb will soon be replaced in Philly. Look for Bflo to trade down with Philly if Sanchez is still on the board. Possibly, even if he's not, they may be looking for a change of pace backup to Mr. Westbrook, so they may want to jump ahead of the pack to get Knowshon or Beenie....Therefor taking James Laurinaitis @ pick 21. By the way, the Sr. Bowl doesn't mean squat to me!

    Ponderous...

  10. I HAVE ALWAYS LIKED CHRISS SIMMS AND HE WAS PLAYING WELL BEFORE HE GOT HURT. BRING HIM IN AND AND JUST MAYBE IF TRENT GOES DOWN HE CAN BRING US SOMETHING SPECIAL. ANY THOUGHTS OUT THERE?

NO! We already have 1 young unproven QB, no need for 2. We need a wiley old vet that will bring something to the table in the way of an ability to mentor young Trent.

  11. Yeah, like it's been killing the Colts for the last ten years.

When you have had 2-3 WR's that could start on several other teams lined up with Peyton Manning slang'n the pigskin...Oh, and a viable down field threat in a TE...Oh and a great OL...oh, and a better than average RB....oh, and a great OC....oh, and a great HC...........ya don't need WR's taller than 6', now do ya? Think b4 you speak.

  12. That...or a QB who seems to look for the easiest out. Reliably.

Obviously there is room for improvement. However, I'd have to disagree that our OL is too heavy. More times than not, Edwards had ALL DAY to throw, and absolutely NO running back, excluded Barry Sanders, gains 1K on "his own." The way I see it, the answers are right in front of us. Kirk Chambers proved, IMO, the he deserves a shot to start at RT. Peters, however you look at him, should be signed to an extension...2 straight Pro Bowl elections, by players and coaches which says more than fan balloting. Walker and Butler are solid G's and Bell is a work in progress that will contribute in '09...he did spend pretty much all of '08 in the weight room. All of this is why I can't see going after a C in Rd.1 or 2. C is the most cerebral off all of the line and we don;t have time for a young guy to come in and develop. Duke should be resigned as a back up and Matt Birk should be pursued, if not stalked, in FA. That with a late round selection of another C, for development, is the way to go.

  13. Last season the Bills made a run at Marlon Mcree. This to me showed that they were not satisfied with the group of Whitner, Simpson, Scott and Wilson. Are people satisfied with Whitner at FS and Scott at SS? I personally would like the Bills to make a run at Mike Brown given his ties to Jauron and he is 30 right on which means he probably has another season or two. I also think he may want to come here given his ties to Jauron.

How about Jermaine Phillips from Tampa? He's not an Elite S, but a deffinate upgrade.

  14. I really don't beleive they'll go after Orapko or Brown, or if they'll even be available @ 11. So, flip flop my 2nd & 3rd pick, if you'd like; however, my research shows this is good positioning for both picks. Then, trade down in the first to get Laurinaitis later which will yeild an additional late round pick to get Simmons/Brewster. The only reason I picked Jennings @ 4 is that I don't beleive Omon will amount to much. Problem solved...?

  15. It's not Hardy's fault that he was not thrown to. I remember numerous games where Chris Brown reported that Hardy was open downfield and not thrown to. He was also NOT used a Red Zone target at all. This is what infuriates me more than ever. We needed a big red zone threat, so we drafted one. Our OC and head coach, NEVER used him. The one play they did, he pulled down a huge catch against the Jags. I understand that it takes time for a WR to develop. There is no excuse AT ALL for not throwing a jump ball or fade route in the end zone. It takes barely any practice at all, and doesn't require crisp route running. He was under utilized all year, and I think if they did use him more he would have had at least 2-3 more TD's

Bingo. Plus when he was thrown to, it was underthrown. There is a learning curve with QB's and big receivers. He's 6'7", not 5'7", so Trent/JP/Jabran need to put the ball UP so James could go det it...I watched this very closely!

  16. I may agree with most in that our most apparent need is a pass rushing DE. However, I don't believe the hype on Orapko or Brown. That, coupled with Pettigrew not being a viable downfield threat, I could see the Bills going the LB route with pick 11. Personally I’m thinking ILB as moving Poz to the outside will make him a Pro Bowler. I like Laurinaitis rather Maualuga as the later is a prototypical ILB fit for a 3-4 scheme, not a cover 2. So my 1st pick is James Laurinaitis, ILB, Ohio State.

Rond 2 is where I go DE..., oh forget Julius Peppers, we won't pay what he's going to demand and Carolina will, also it's known that if he moves it's going to be to a team that runs a 3-4. I REALLY like Connor Barwin, DE, Cincinnati here. Can you say STUD. 6'4" 252 lbs. versatile, explosive, and athletic. His '08 campaign yielded 46 tackles, 12.5 tackles for loss and 10 sacks. He also has 6 pass break-ups, 4 QB hurries and 3 blocked punts/kicks. Did I mention he was in the TE rotation and had 31 recep for 399 yds and 2 TD's?

The next glaring need to be addressed is a close tie between C and TE...a legit pass catching TE. Looks to me like we don't have time to groom a rookie C, so I like the Bills going hard after Matt Birk in FA. Although the Bills may also look at Owen Daniels too, I'd expect them to go for a TE that can stretch the middle of the field and draw some attention from Mr. Evans. So, with pick 3 I like Chase Coffman, TE, and Missouri.

Initially I thought rd. 4 we would go after a S. I changed my mind when I thought about Jermaine Phillips being a FA from Tampa. This guy is solid, and with Bryan Scott's level of play later in the season, and with the athlete, Wendling, in the mix, I think I'll pass on S's all together this year. Instead, it's my sleeper pick. And why not another RB. Ready for it....Rashad Jennings, Liberty. Big, 230ish, but has cut back ability and speed. Also, he CAN catch the ball out of the backfield.

No, not a receiver... I like the prospect of the Bills signing Amani Toomer. A proven vet that will let Reed move back into the slot where he belongs, and if he continues on the pace he set in '08, I smell Pro Bowl. Not to mention we can get Hardy and/or Johnson involved in more situational type down and distance situations. With that said, although, not a huge priority, being that our existing rotation isn't too bad at DT, we could use a little beef up front on D. A space eater, run stuffing behemoth. Such as the likes of Sammie Lee Hill, Stillman. 6'4" 330, 14 tfl and 4.5 sacks. Big and productive...all the better!

6Th & 7th...Javorskie Lane, FB, Texas A&M. Dude is 6'0 285 lbs. Shorter and heavier than 9/10 of the Lab’s in the NFL...this guy could prove to be a natural true FB, and finally another C in Dallas Reynolds, BYU, 6'5", 328 w/38 consecutive starts. I think this guy could develop into a Jeff Saturday type.
