  1. I was on a trip this last week and watched Pat's/Bills game at Sharkey's SharkBite Grill where the Florida Key Bill's Backers meet. It was awesome.

My family of four got there early and the setup was great. Had the shout song and horn on a PA and great Buffalo Vibe. The president of the club was very welcoming and told of a great Buffalo story of how the KWBB got the best place in the bar by getting the place up and running after hurricane Irma with a bunch of hard working Buffalo contractors.  Made me proud. And the owner is a Bengals fan but was that appreciative.

One of the best parts of the game was that the Miami game was on in the next seating area and we were cheering both the Bills and the Ravens as they destroyed Miami. By the fourth quarter the fish fans had left to go home and cry on their giant pillows.

Cowherd and his sidekick are now floating that if the Belichek/New England marriage ends on contentious note, he would love the Bills job with a ready made QB that he gushes over.  That would be hilarious if McDermott then went to coach New England.  The circle of life.

Great, Scotty Bowman Part II. No thank you please.

  3. I've been trying to put this into perspective. It hit me Saturday that no other person (athlete/announcer/owner, etc.) in sports has given me more entertainment in my life. Not even a close second.

In the back of my mind there was always this magic fantasy moment where I'd see Rick out and send him over a beer with the waitress and on his way out he'd give me a nod and I'd get to thank him in person.  RIP Rick and thank you.

  4. There is a lot of luck involved in winning championships. Injuries, bad calls, off field incidents, etc. can derail.

I am fairly convinced the Damar Hamlin injury and the emotional toll it took was too much for this team. I personally didn't sleep for all the days before the miracle and I'm not his friend/teammate.

I just can't believe the focus required at the top level wasn't effected. The talent was able to overcome the lethargic play until Cincinnati.

NHL reffing might be worse, but at least it is more predictable.

If a team is down, they probably get the next power play. If the penalties are getting uneven, the team with less penalties is probably getting the next one. Even better if you can even up the penalties after the game is already out of hand.

I'm saying in a series decaiding game, no ref is going to call a questionable penalty.
