Some people perform better after tragedy. I'm guessing a top NASCAR driver is pretty good at compartmentalization. I'd guess he is pretty shaken up about the Ward incident when he thinks about it. Racing is probably a good way to keep from thinking about it,

Stewart has his mom, dad, sister, niece, and a nephew. Everyone else that would be close to him is in the racing community. Going racing is his way of healing. Being around his friends and family. He has no wife or kid. All the guy does is race. His world revolves around racing. That's why he is getting back in the car.

Care to atleast link one, or give some summary?

If some of the people that comment on here care enough they can search it for themselves. That was part of my point. From reading some comments it appears to me that some of the ones commenting don't know much about NASCAR or racing in general. For most of the Tony Stewart coverage just watch the pre race Sunday.

    As for the drug suspensions:

Mayfield has been suspended indefinitely by NASCAR for failing a drug test.

Hmiel was banned for life for failing multiple drug tests.

Allmendinger was suspended for testing positive to adderall. He had to complete NASCAR's road to recovery program and has since been reinstated and currently races on the NASCAR Sprint Cup circuit.

  3. NASCAR has a strict drug policy. For information on it just google NASCAR Jeremy Mayfield (meth), Shane Hmiel (pot, meth, maybe more) for illegal drugs, and AJ Allmendinger for Aderol. Drivers are randomly tested at the tracks just like every other athlete.

As far as Tony Stewart goes, tune into ESPN or check out Marty Smith's (ESPN's NASCAR reporter) columns/interviews with other drivers about Tony. You'll find out why he's racing from the people that actually know him. Kevin Harvick and Danica Patrick are the two drivers he is probably closest to in the garage. Focus on what Kevin Harvick has to say.

I won't say much more since I've already had my hand slapped once in this thread.

  4. Pontoon (Little Big Town)

Bartender, Just a Kiss (Lady Antebellum)

    Dirt Road Anthem (Jason Aldean)

The Only Way I Know (Jason Aldean, Eric Church, Luke Bryan)

Cruise & This is How We Roll (Florida Georgia Line/Nelly)

Drunk on a Plane (Dierks Bentley)

    American Kids (Kenny Chesney)

  5. LoL... Pinched as in squeezed, priced out... You know how those "upscale" visitors can wreck things! <_<

No... I think it would be a fissure. You aren't trying for an instant TBDism are you? :P

Seriously, I am not seeing any other definition except a fisherman and a marten (type of weasel).

Ok, so I googled fissure and yes that is it. I just spelled it wrong, thank God.

But also when I googled it the first thing that came up was anal fissure. So now I have this image of Chef pinchin a Dean and getting a fissure in the process, all because of a 6.1 magnitude earthquake.

  6. A fisher? That must have been a mean azz marten to buckle the street like that? Did he run around the mulberry bush getting chased by a monkey before he popped up?

    ;-P ;-P

Glad you are safe Kevin... Just busting on the autocorrect...

I'm ashamed to admit, but I thought that the large cracks caused by earthquakes were called fishers. I could have swore I heard it called a fisher on the news too, but I obviously was wrong. Maybe I confused it with a rupture?

  7. I think the recent decades performances have warranted a good solid booing from the fans perspectives. I think that anyone that pays the price of the ticket has the right to stand and cheer or in this case jeer their team.

Look at it this way. If I performed as poorly in my job as the Bills have done for the past decade where would I be? Unemployed. I would receive a verbal warning that my performance was sub standard, then a written warning, then an official write up, then a final write up, then termination. It's up to me to do a good job, not my boss, not my coworkers, but ME.

My issue with Goodwin is he questioned the loyalty of the fans. He called us bandwagon fans. Goodwin didn't have a bad performance, but his team did. He is a part of that team. If anyone on that team (other than the defense) can look at the scoreboard and say that they did a good job then they are lying to themselves plain and simple.

Now, back to the bandwagon fans. It'd be nice to see the Bills have some bandwagon fans because that would mean the team is winning. Also it would be nice because merchandise sales would go up, ticket sales would go up, there would be more fans at away games. Winning=win/win for all involved players and fans.

they are professional football players. There is no job where it is acceptable to publicly bash your customers. He needs to keep his cool. How about being pissed off that he is on the worst offense in the NFL.

this one was removed. what did it say?

    Called booing fans bandwagon fans.

  8. A 6.1 is a good quake, but we've been through worse. 6.1 will wake some up, damage older buildings and mobile homes. Most of the buildings damaged were older, brick buildings and the fires that took out 6 mobile homes (I think).

The Napa Post Office which was built in the 1930's is pretty much destroyed. It's a brick building and you could see the building pretty much shifted.

A large crack popped up to. Right through a residential neighborhood. It buckled streets, sidewalks, and one guys home. The news showed him packing up everything he could before they wouldn't allow him back into his home again.

I still remember the '89 quake. You don't forget something like that and I was 90 miles away from the epicenter. That earthquake was scary.

  10. Funny. Some of you all make me laugh out loud.

I read his tweet too. Right on. I was there with my family tonight, and my kids were so disappointed by the zero points in the first half. How is the team going to win fans of the future? My kids want to root for the Bills, they do, because they see me rooting, but they have to do more than whine about their fans when THEIR PERFORMANCE IS POOR, especially when fans are paying for to watch the game. I want my kids to be Bills fans. I want to cheer for them! I don't want to boo, but what are we supposed to do?

My 12 year old daughter is a Niner fan. I'm not going to stop her. She's smarter than me anyway.

  11. When I saw this I laughed. First thought was he's gonna get a lot of mentions for this, which he has. Second, this isn't going to go over well at all. He's gotta have a head injury.

Seriously, you can't expect fans to cheer after being shutout 24-0 in the FIRST HALF can you?!?

that previous tweet was only inteded for the fake fans apparently. he still appreciates the real fans.: https://twitter.com/flashgoodwin/status/503344236096675840

I watched on TV in California and I booed!

It's gonna be a really long season.
