Lol at “if AJ plays great” the guy is our backup. We just drafted our starter.
Correction - AJ is our bridge this year, and maybe our backup next year. I wouldn't be surprised if they gave Allen 2 years to develop further - he's not ready yet IMO. Excited to see the potential though,.

Now we have the QB of our defense!

And spend the next 4 years arguing with Thurm about some metric that one or other of you has created to prove he is either good or bad.
The only metric that we should care about are wins, once he's with us.

the final straw...
Josh Allen's draft entrance song will be - BON JOVI, Wanted Dead or Alive. Plus Josh is a huge Patriots fan. Seriously, F*** THIS GUY
Oh god... and honestly, I was a fan of Allen as a prospect for us to draft. This kills it for me.

I'm somewhat concerned the Bills will get leapfrogged if they don't pull the trigger soon.
Agreed. But it's also the risk you take to make sure you don't get fleeced in a trade scenario. There's so many questions marks that materially impact trades.
Do the Browns want Allen, Darnold, or Mayfield?
If both Mayfield and Rosen are on the board at 3, which do the Jets pick?
Do the Giants pick a QB? Do they WANT a particular QB? Rumors say it's Darnold. Other rumors say they want Barkley.
What about the Broncos? Word on the street says they love Mayfield, and that Rosen is completely off their board.
My head is spinning thinking about it all, but at the end of the day, I TRUST THE PROCESS. Trust in Beane to get one of the guys he wants, at a good value (another big question is, how many of the QBs pass the Beane test). That's all we can do at this point. Either way, I'm going to grab my popcorn tomorrow, and enjoy yelling at my TV.
Go Bills.

It is asking a lot for people to stay within the lines...
It absolutely is. Which is why this needs to be moved to a place where this type of conversation is accepted. This forum is for productive football discussion, NOT a place where we all get emotional arguing and insulting each other baselessly.
Where's the Batsignal? MODS, TIME TO MOVE THIS!

Ok time to shut this thread down, or move it to PPP.

I got 4 of 9. Quick question though is Luck or Watson supposed to be the bad QB?
Yeah it's kinda stupid. Same comparison against Wilson or Brees - it said Brees was the bust

Ironically, when you read the original post he is talking about, the writer did in fact, just make it up!
Josh Norris says the Browns didn't tell the media who they are taking at one, which means Jackson doesn't know, because he says Jackson would have told.
There is not a fact or even a secret source. he just literally made it up. And it gets reported as news.
I wouldn't say that he just made it up, but rather drew a conclusion based on empirical evidence.
There are 2 points that we can draw this from:
1. Hue has a history of leaking to the media, and has a few known mouthpieces
2. Media has no clue who the Browns are taking
Hence, Hue doesn't know. I'm totally simplifying it, and drawing my own conclusions, but take that for what it's worth.

Ya got to throw that INT on 3rd down.
Just a little game plan adjustment
So basically playing Canadian 3-down football? Well our QB problem is solved then! Let's just grab whoever is the top QB in the CFL!

check your sources. Also, Goff was good last year too and he definitely wanted Watson last year. That’s why he is still there. He was right and got overruled by guys trying to tank (which is why the new GM has a very easy job now).
To be fair, it's reported that Hue has multiple media outlets that he leaks info to (which is the whole basis of the tweet in the first post), so it could just be a case of hindsight correction.
I assume Peter King is one of them - the others, harder to guess maybe? At the end of the day, I would take everything (even my own opening post) with a grain of salt. But still, fun to speculate!

No, Hue DIDN'T want them. He wanted Goff. That's one of the strikes against him, even though Goff was gone. He didn't want either of the other 2.
Also remember reading somewhere that he wanted Mitch as well.

they can open a roster spot by getting rid of their punter. Allen and that freakishly strong arm will be able to throw 70 yd INTs
My first reaction was, GENIUS.
Then I realized that all they have to do in that case is to just not catch the ball.

The Browns may have some good young players and a pile of draft picks, but their owner is also a pile....of something else.
Pile of something Brown?

You know what would make this draft REALLY historic? If all of the top 4 QBs flop
-
Honestly surprised that Dorsey took the job, knowing he wouldn't be able to hire his own HC the first season. Correct me if I'm wrong, but the mandate that Hue gets one more season came from the owner.
But if this is true, then that lends some more credibility to that other thread that spoke of the coaching staff wanting Allen, vs the FO wanting Darnold.
