For those who say "we have bigger needs," or "let Allen have 2 years" I tend to agree.  Therefore, who/what QB would you take in Rd. 2 or 3 that might be there.

My guys in that area are:

Trace McSorley from PSU.    Accurate ball placement, athletic and a gamer.  Almost a shorter, more accurate Josh Allen.

Will Geyer, WVA.  80% completion percentage so far this year.

    Ryan Finley  (NC State).

    and

    Clayton Thornson (Northwestern)

Those of you who watch more college football than I (which isn't very hard), please feel free to chime in on your round 2-3 QB pick.   Doesn't have to be a guy to "challenge" Allen, but a good backup/someone who could be a starter.

Our QB room is set. Allen unquestioned starter, Barkley #2, Anderson acting as QB Assistant coach.  I think we are fine and will probably bring in an arm for training camp and rookie drills.

I stopped reading when I got to the part where you said the Redskins would give us their second and third round picks this year, plus next year’s first, to move up from 16 to 9.

I can see getting 2nd and 3rd for swap of 1st rounders.

Love the draft and would make a few minor changes in FA but a well researched post

  3. I see the Bills making the following moves.

Do not resign, Miller, Groy or Ducasse.

    Resign Mills

    In FA

Try and sign Matt Paradies, Ramon Foster and Darryl Williams

    1st Round:

Draft Jawaan Taylor the OT from Florida with the 9th pick

    New 2019 Offensive Line:

    LT - Dion Dawkins

    LG - Wyatt Teller

    C -   Matt Paradies

    RG - Ramon Foster

    RT - Jawaan Taylor

    Depth

    C - Jeff Bodine

    Swing Tackle - Jordan Mills

G - Ike Botteger or G from draft

I think this line will be able to run block and provide JA time to throw

PS - Please draft TJ Hockenson as the inline TE

    What are your thoughts?

If i had to narrow it to 5 guys who legitimately have a chance at being there at 9........J Williams, G Williams, J Allen, D White, and although I doubt he falls, E Oliver.. These are guys IF we stay at 9, which IMO is probable with the weak QB crop.

Don't see Greedy Williams or Josh Allen available with the 9th pick.

If we get a G, C and tackle in FA, then grab Dez White to play MLB and move Edmunds to OLB and really shore up two positions, edge rusher and run stopping assistance

    Agreed.

Trade down into the 20s with a team who wants an impact defensive player, and pick up extra picks. Then go all out adding young talent to the offense.

Would prefer to see us upgrade the offensive line in free agency and add young talent to the offensive skill positions.

The OL free agent market is going to be considerably better than the garbage that will be available at WR and TE.

I agree, think most of the top rated receivers will drop to late first and mid 2nd round.

    C - Preferably Matt Paradies

    RT - Darryl Williams

With the emphasis of this years draft is defensive line and edge players the Bills should wait to see if Jonah Williams falls to them and if he does, run to the podium and make the pick.  Then pick best fit in the glut of WR that will slip into the 2nd round.  My favorite in terms of availability would be Iowa State WR Hakeem Butler.

Would look at TE and RB in round 3.

I truly don’t understand the people that say Mayfield is as good as he’s going to get.

Mayfield played 4 years in college.  Had best players around him his rookie season.  Very solid offensive line, almost 1000 yard rusher, excellent WR, TE and RB's.  I see him being a pretty consistent 64% completion %, 25 TD, 10 INT guy with limited yards running.  Very solid, 10 to 12 year starter.  Few Pro Bowl games and nice career.

Think Allen and Darnold could put up crazy Aaron Rogers stats based on potential.

  7. Now that the regular season I'd like to provide two rankings:

    1.  The 2018 Regular Season

    1. Baker Mayfield

    2. Lamar Jackson

    3. Josh Allen

    4. Sam Darnold

    5. Josh Rosen

    Kinda stating obvious

    Long Term Potential

    1.  Josh Allen

His work ethic and his potential with significant improvements on the line and receiver group will lead to an amazing jump in year 2 and beyond.

    2.  Sam Darnold

Tough choice here as I like Darnold's upside with better talent around him.  Has size, developing pocket awareness, great touch and accuracy.  More experience will lead to fewer turnovers.

    3.  Baker Mayfield

Think he is close to being as good as he is going to get.  Older, with better weapons around him.  Great accuracy, pocket awareness and attitude.  May be limited long term by size and lack of running ability.

    4.  Lamar Jackson

Needs a lot of development as a passer.  Teams will learn how to defense him and keep him in the pocket.  Has a solid arm but does have runners mindset and tends to take off if his first read is taken away.  Could be great or fade to average.

    5.  Josh Rosen

Just seems to be lacking in a lot of areas, arm strength? Meh, mobility, none, leadership, meh, dedication to the game, tbd.  Honestly don't think he's around at the end of his contract.  Shall I say, Blaine Gabbert.

Butler consistently beat DB's all night. He was a complete mismatch using his size, strength, and making tough catches. He had 9 for 192. The guy reminds me A LOT of AJ Green and he's going to show well at the combine also. This is the guy I REALLY want to see in a Bills' uni next year, along with Parris Campbell.

Depending on his combine workouts, he could move up to the first round.

If that becomes the case, I'm hoping Bills can find a trade down partner and add an additional pick and grab this difference making receiver.

He is the classic case of being open when he's not open.

Love his potential at the NFL Level.

I see him a lot like former Bills FA signee Quinn Early.........a big, decent downfield specialist who put up good numbers elsewhere so we think putting him in a #1 role here he might even improve on them.........but in reality, probably not.    I don't see anything there that indicates a guy with a lot more to give.   For the right price, sure.   But for the $10M per he might command he will quickly become a whipping boy here, IMO.

I'm not looking for a #1 in free agency, nor am I wanting to spend draft capital on an aging Julio Jones or AJ Green.  I'm of the thinking that having a number of solid threats like Tyrell Williams, Hakeem Butler, Robert Foster, Zay Jones and Isaiah McKenzie give us a flexible WR group, add Hockenson the TE from Iowa and solid pass receiving RB's make it difficult for defenses to focus their coverage on.  Teams can stop a classic #1 WR, by double teaming or safety over the top.  But with my WR group, who are you gonna focus your attention on.

What’s everyone’s infatuation with Tyrell Williams?

6'4", 220, under 4.5 speed, runs nice routes, better then average hands, huge catch radius.  Guess that's my infatuation.

Now, what's your issue as him as a Buffalo Bill?

    1 minute ago, Tsaikotic said:

ok, going by your off-season my draft would be :

    1 - DT Oliver

2 - WR Deebo Samuel / WR Hollywood Brown

    3 - OG Micheal Deiter

    4 - DE Carl Granderson

    4 - TE Alize Mack

    5-7 BPA

I see where your going.  Thinking Oliver is selected before our pick at 10, prefer Hakeem Butler WR of Iowa State with 2nd round pick.  Brown is faster version of McKenzie and equally brittle, I like Deiter and I need to do research on Grandersin.  Prefer Hockenson over Mack at TE.

Nice job and appreciate your feedback

  11. More then anything else I'm of the belief the Bills have to come out of free agency with 3 offensive lineman, one WR, one TE, one RB and an OLB.

The players I listed are my dream list but for every player taken by another team or resigned you simply go down the list and pursue the next player.

if we add 7 players at the positions listed we can move forward to draft the best player at a position of need.

  12. 1 minute ago, BADOLBILZ said:

There is no doubt that the Bills have plenty of money to sign that many players............but realistically that's like half of the good players that might actually make it to free agency and lot's of teams have lot's of money to spend..........by virtue of supply and demand they will be lucky to get a couple of them.

Then they will probably be rummaging thru the injury bin like last offseason or trading for a bad contract from one of the very small handful of teams who could use a little cap relief or just have buyers remorse.

Something like trading a conditional pick to Jax for former Panther All Pro G Andrew Norwell and taking on his enormous fully guaranteed $13M base salary and hoping he rebounds from a poor and injury riddled year.   They are probably going to have to get creative to fill holes with quality and that cap room might be used in ways that in the past would seem crazy.

What you say is quite correct.  But teams have needs, bad contracts and cap limits.  For example, Steelers can afford James and Foster, Chargers can't issue another big contract to a WR, can Broncos keep Paradies when they are stuck with Keenan and still need a QB.  Vikings are tight on the cap and can't afford Barr. Jags cap is totally blown so they can't afford Yeldon.  Beane & McDermott have history with Williams.

So, the players I have suggested are all potentially signable based on Current teams roster issues and then it's just making the best offer.

Butler is on my radar too. He just made an amazing catch.

Can you imagine 6'6" Butler on one side, 6'4" Tyrell Williams on the other, Foster running deep routes.

My God it's a dream WR group when you add Zay and McKenzie.

Sounds great, now if the Bills can just convince the other 31 teams to not go shopping they'll be in business.

I'm thinking Colts or Jets spend 50 million on Bell, Texans will be competitive on OL FA.  Jets just extended Enouwma for 4 yrs 36 million so with a young franchise QB in place, starter gigs and money the Bills can really put together an amazing young team

Based on roster shown in thread

    1st:

    Jonah Williams - OT Alabama

I'd move him to guard and start him

    2nd:

Hakeem Butler - WR Iowa State

    3rd:

    2nd TE from Iowa

    4th:

    Bryce Love

    Top DT Available

My wet dream Round 1 pick is Kentucky LB Josh Allen

Hockensen - TE Iowa 3rd Round

Nice, indeed. All the “known names” will bring ridiculous dollars. We may go for a few, but I like the pick ups like Hyde and Poyer. Guys I really couldn’t tell you about, but bring it!

Here's what I think the cost of each FA will be for 2019

    Alexander 4 million

    Phillips - 3.5 Million

    Mills 2.5 Million

    Paradies - 9 Million

    Willians - 8 Million

    Foster - 7 Million

    Tyrell Williams - 10 million

    Yeldon - 5 Million

    James - 5 Million

    Barr - 12 Million

66 Million in 2019 Cap Space with 91 Million Cap Space

    Plenty to make these moves
