  1. Eh, Lee can make a lot of plays that a lot of top wideouts couldn't. Wasn't there some play against the phins where trent was being hit, and underthrew, and lee instantly read it and made the clutch catch instead of just running the route like a jamoke? That's why we pay him the big bucks... if he had a better corps of receivers to work with, I'm sure he'd put up great numbers for the stat-tards out there.

  2. 3. Complacency: We're not that much better than anyone else in the league. We got whipped by Cards and all our victories but one have been close;

    4. Loss to Jets 2 weeks from now: Forget about Favre, the real story there is an improving Jets defense;

    8. The Ralph: that place is falling apart and will put more pressure on moving the team as building a new stadium is unaffordable;

    Disagree on 3, I'm not too worried about the Jets, and as to 8, it's not really falling apart, it's just...not shiny.

    Also, the cards are a good team. They have played with a LOT of tenacity and energy since their route a week before the bills game, I am impressed. Warner is playing well, too, and is really a tough guy.

  3. I don't buy this as an excuse. Even after the fumbled handoff, and after the defense gave up three consecutive TD drives, the score of the game was 24-17 late in the 3rd quarter. I don't think the Bills' "spirit" was deflated -- I just think they were outplayed by a motivated team that executed flawlessly.
    A very fair point in your second sentence, but note, though, that I said it "didn't help" - I did not mean to say that it "caused the loss" - my choice of words was bad. Anyway, you never want to see one of your own go down like that.

    And I will certainly agree that they were outplayed.

  4. It does seem like we are getting out-planned, at times, and until now we have been able to compensate. While our offense may be versatile in that it spreads the ball around, it doesn't appear to be versatile in terms of overall philosophy. And as far as defense, the coaches didn't even seem to want to adjust to the Cardinals plan of attack. Or maybe they tried, but couldn't. As all of us I'm sure did, I was just sitting there thinking, "so, when are they going to blitz for serious?"

    And, to agree with the above, while JP is certainly not to blame for losing on Sunday, Edwards being injured certainly did not help. It just deflates your spirit to see your team's "savior" for lack of a better word go down like a rag doll on the third play from scrimmage.

  5. Actually the link relate's to Hockey....

    The National Football League does not have strict guidelines when dealing with concussions, unlike the National Hockey League. In the NHL, players are strongly urged to be symptom-free for seven days before practicing. The NFL has no such time minimums for head injuries but recommends players are asymptomatic before returning to play. The decision is left to medical staffs of each team.

    Yeah - doesn't make too much sense in the NFL for a 7 day rule, that would automatically rule out playing in the next week's game (if there was one).
  6. It was certainly dirty. I don't think the initial hit was the problem, seemed like he led more with his chest, but the way he brought edwards down and ground his helmet into him was straight malicious. That, coupled with the ridiculous display of classiness in ripping off lynch's helmet for a knee to the head would warrant a hefty fine, IMO. The guy's a hitman.

  7. It sure is nice being 4-0 but this is the NFL. Parity is reality and no team is easy to beat. It is almost inevitable that there will be several ties for playoff positions.

    The Bills are in a really bad position on tie breakers already. They are 2-0 against NFC opponents and will probably beat San Fran when they play them. That puts them at 3-0. This means if they win next week, they will end up losing just about any tie-breaking scenario as the NFC games count less. They might do ok within the division but if they are tied for a wild card they are in big trouble. This sounds weird, but if you want the Bills to make the playoffs, you should root for them to lose next week.

    Put down the bong.
