When he has good protection he seems to do very well (most good quarterbacks do). If we could lock down LT, have Levitre and Wood healthy and in-position, Urbik at RG, and a workable RT (which we probably have between the guys on the roster), I think he has a good chance of being successful.

They used to do this, but not since the NFL started their listen online thing on their website, which of course you have to pay for, and is overpriced. Now they shut it off. In fact the Bills (and other NFL teams) used to have links to the free game radio broadcasts right on their websites, if I remember right.

Johny - I could see Tampa Bay trading down to our spot....maybe we can give them our 4th rounder and Lee-O-diss...that way we get RG3, they still get the CB they want, a 4th round pick, and we can unload #21 on some unsuspecting NFC team.
Love this.

I knew this thread would be ridiculous from the subtitle, I just didn't realize how many people would actually agree with the OP. Letting Freddie go would be monumentally stupid. The last thing we need to do is make our team even younger, and less talented to boot.

I thought about Jairus, but while he does certain things well he is not really a playmaker (anymore) which is what you'd expect out of a top guy. I do really like the fact that he almost never misses a tackle even on a big player. He is the king of the "reach out my arm at the last second and grab the ankle of this gigantic RB that I almost completely whiffed on."

This. Last year's draft really wasn't bad.the Bills have a new Director of Pro Personnel in Tom Gibbons and a new Director of College Scouting in Chuck Cook. Both of them were hired AFTER we fired Tom Modrak in April. The Bills have also made changes among their scouting department with a new hire and some re-assignments.
So Buddy Nix has almost totally revamped the personnel department which he inherited less than two years ago.

On the current roster I would say
F. Jackson
E. Wood
A. Levitre
K. Williams
G. Wilson
B. Moorman
Are all arguably top 5, and without a doubt top 10. Does anyone remember when Wood and Levitre were both playing at their actual positions at the beginning of the season, and how much they dominated? Williams and Jackson I think are without a doubt top 5. Wilson and Moorman are very arguable.
Dareus has the potential to be top 5 but he is not there yet.
I don't think anyone else on the team even figures into the discussion.
Edited to add: Barnett may be top 20 or so, but I don't think any of our other linebackers are even top 60+. THAT is a huge part of the problem. They would be holding the starter's water bottles on any other team. CBs, same deal. No way Florence is even in the top 32. A Williams has a little promise for the future.

In the last interview he blamed FUNDAMENTALS.
He's talked about that a few times this season, and while I thought it was funny to hear from an NFL coach, it's the kind of thing you are indeed going to have to deal with when you have a ton of young players. I mean, over 1/4 of our starting defense on Sunday was rookies.

Fitz did indeed break his rib and was actually placed on IR while the beard has continued to play for him. That's why he always has the look of angry determination, it's all beard out there.

Wow, do I count 8 starter-ish players?

Looks like we also picked up Derek Hagan who we saw on the Raiders in wk 2.
-
I dunno, we could really have used his physicality yesterday. :/

Personally I think they should go back to stretching the field with multi-million dollar receivers to open up the checkdown game.

$25k on a night out. According to the article that's about 5% of his previous year's salary. Wow.
-
Ugh, this stinks. And from a needless little hip-check too.

"Over-celebrated" and "over-hyped" mean pretty much the exact same thing as overrated.
-
Did they ever release All-22 footage of the music city "miracle?"
-
Maybe because he's a big body? (6-2-250)

The next two games are eminently winnable, and then we get our rematch.

I love how Fred still gets no respect...even from Bills fans.
It's like you're going out with a supermodel, but dump her on the off chance that her hot friend *might* be interested.

Maybe they're trying to see how he handles a full workload before talking money, given his age.
