  1. Thanks. I'm considering switching from Cable to Direct TV to get Sunday Ticket. Has anyone been unpleasently "suprised" by hidden installation, etc. fees. Also, do they offer a bundle with internet and phone? Thanks !

Good luck w/ the move. Leaving NJ is always a good idea, esp. when the destination is Buffalo !!

The only problem EVER with Directv was at installation. I'm in PHX AZ and they subcontract out the installation and I was without HD for a week after the initial installation of the dish and Directv did give me a 6 month credit on the spot for HD.

The tech returned, still couldn't get the HD to work so I googled it and gave him the fix from, you guessed it, Directv forums. Directv customer support took my complaint about the installation and made me happy. They even paid the bill for the extra holes the guy drilled in my block wall and the side of my house.

  2. Called and told them I was going to cancel. Gave me the 6 month $25 dollar credit. Then said, "because you have the premium package you will receive an extra $10 off for 6 month and get NFL To Go for free." So basically I received a $210 credit and a free $50 NFL to Go. Took 5 mins on the phone to do this. No haggling needed. Just asked for their best offer because I can't afford to spend that much on a luxury item.

I went the same route as you. Just called to cancel and I was immediately transferred to retention (although it wasn't called that), didn't have to ask for it. At first they wouldn't budge at all other then $10 of my YEARLY bill. Told them that won't fly and that is the best she could do. Told her she has been fantastic to crunching the numbers etc. I was very nice and called her by name several times, and then asked if I could speak to a manager.

    Several minutes on hold.....

Kim comes back and I get $240 in credits and free NFL to go on the Droid.

Be nice, ask for a manager/supervisor and essentially get NFL package for $80.

Thanks everyone for the heads up on this.

  3. The dude can't help it. It's not that he's stupid. It's just that he's living evidence what too many hits to the noggan can do to guy that plays several years in the NFL. Heck, I mean, just the fact that he's contemplating a comeback has to be a clear signal that his judgement is way off.

Wow. If he's gassed then his family can compare him to Anne Frank. Moron.

From the article link you posted which you obviously did not read this one either. Yes, let's stop everything over .2 percent inaccuracy.

"Inaccurate payments are unacceptable. Social Security's Recovery Act payments were 99.8 percent accurate and we quickly collected the majority of the inaccurate payments. Each year we make payments to a small number of deceased recipients usually because we have not yet received reports of their deaths."

The inspector general for the Social Security Administration has been performing an audit to make sure no checks went to ineligible recipients. The latest report was dated Sept. 24 but was just recently posted to the agency's website.

Sergio Kindle in stable condition after fall

08:11 AM ET 07.26 | Sergio Kindle is reportedly in stable condition after falling down two flights of stairs in Austin, Texas. The unsigned former Longhorns star won't be reporting this week for training camp as he recovers from his injury. ... Kindle's father, Johnny Walker, told National Football Post in a telephone interview: "Sergio feels like he has had bad luck all his life." Meanwhile, Kindle's contract isn't expected to be signed until at least a few more days. No deal is imminent.

Isn't this guy supposed to be an athlete?

His dad's name is Johnny Walker. That makes one go hmmmm.

TWO flights of stairs......isn't there a landing in between flights?

  6. Bull. Just proves the WH is naive when it comes to this stuff. They are trying to act on the up and up. Sorry that they aren't cynical and didn't see this coming. Actually, they should have seen it coming, it is the way gov't operates: Like little babies.

It's not just the WH. It's all of Congress. Both sides of the aisle. They are all in the pocket of big business. This hasn't been "we the people" for quite some time. It is "we the corporation...."

Congress et al spend more time on getting re-elected then working on the "people's" business.
