What a frustrating situation. We beat a cardinals team when it doesn't matter
Find a way to get to 2-2. Then we get back Dareus, Watkins, Glenn. Shak Lawson opposite Hughes a few weeks later.

Called today. I talked to the first retention guy and asked if he had any deals for long time members that were willing to agree to a contract. He said that all he had available was half off showtime for 4 months lol. I asked when my contract was up and he was not able to pull that info transferred me to a senior retention specialist.
The 2nd guy was great. I was honest and said that I was willing to sign a contract if they could offer me a discount. He immediately offered free Sunday Ticket and 15 bucks a month off my bill for a 12 month contract. I asked him how much it would be to upgrade to genie and he was able to get me upgraded to a genie for no cost as long as I was willing to extend the contract to two years. I agreed and he also threw in free showtime for 4 months.
While things were loading up on his computer we talked about football, kids etc. Overall I could not be happier with the deal and I appreciate that they make it a point to take care of long time customers.

I first was skeptical when they cut Tarvaris Jackson early in the offseason last year. I started really losing confidence when he went into the first season with two rookie QBs on the roster. I understand Kolb got hurt but there was no excuse for having Tuel as the only backup QB on the roster. With an average veteran backup last season the Bills would have been a playoff team. I lost all confidence when I watched them continue to run the read option all last season with a QB that never took the option.
This year I gave him a second chance and once again it was the same story as last season. We fail to bring in a decent veteran backup QB until week one and as a result poor QB play is the reason the Bills are not a playoff team.
Look at everything that Marrone has touched on this team and it has likely been a weakness. He has nothing to do with the defense (except for Henderson) and that is the only reason why this team has been competitive for the past two years. The special teams has been average, the offense has been terrible (including his OL), and his game management decisions have been very questionable. And it has been stated a million times but how the heck does Marrone the Offensive Line Whisperer continue to watch his offensive line regress week after week and do nothing about it?

A group of us will be heading to Detroit on 10/5 to watch them take down the Lions. Is anyone else making the trip?

1) 2009 - Turk Schonert attempts to bring back the K-gun and is fired before the season starts.
2) 2013 - No-huddle makes another appearance in Buffalo with a Rookie QB and backups that cannot even play in the CFL. We also bring in the read-option but it is one year late to the party and the QB never takes the option..
3) 2014) - Zero TD's against first string defenses in 4 preseason games, TERRIBLE QB play across the board, OL in shambles, etc. Yeah it is preason but see number 1 above and it looks pretty similar to that situation..
What do they all have in common? Nate Hackett. Offensive Quality Control Coordinator from 2008-2009 that spent a lot of time learning the no-huddle for Turk. I do not need to explain last year and this year....

Called today and changed my typicall "cancellation" strategy based on this thread. I was up front and told them that I know that they are offering the discounts to current subscribers.
First offer:
Sunday ticket Max for $20 less than the standard ticket. I said no thanks and that I would get back to them since the wife and I were discussing cable options for this year. He then gave me a 2nd offer.
Second offer:
First offer plus $10 off my bill for 12 months.
The deal sealer:
I asked if they would throw in free HBO if I sang "Holiday Road" in a high pitched voice and he accepted while laughing his ass off the entire time.
Summary:
Sunday ticket max for $220, $10 bill credit for 12 months, free HBO for 3 months (and a lost voice for the rest of the day).
I still think the cancellation strategy may have worked a little better (considering TWC's current offers) but I am still happy with the results and at least I had fun with it.

I watched one of his games in the FCS playoffs against Towson. He looked pretty good but I was honestly expecting to see more based on all of the hype about him prior to watching the game. He had a very unorthodox throwing motion but seemed to still be pretty accurate with a lot of quick short passes.

If you want to criticize Spiller, at least do if after he has a poor game. He ran very well today.
If you want to criticize someone today, how about Kiko - was clearly overmatched today, again.
Agree on Alonso he over pursued all game and could not shed a block to save his life

I like his attitude but he clearly needs to rethink his staff. Crossman should have never been hired in the first place and Hackett was a major gamble that has not paid off.

I was surrounded by a bunch of crazy people that just watched their Cincinnati bengals go to the playoffs again this season. These people suffered for decades watching the bungles.. They know their football and they were more pissed off then I was when they saw it. L

Only in Buffalo do we criticize a guy who averages 5 ypc for his CAREER! Sometimes I wish guys like Spiller & Stevie left the Bills & would finally get appreciate like the really good players they are.
Individual stats mean jack crap when your team constantly sucks. I really cannot believe that people are defending him when it was clear as glass throughout the whole game... Fortunately I was surrounded by other fans without blue tinted blinders on that were just as pissed as I was whenever it happened today.

This has bothered me all season with him bit today was just icing on the cake. I watched the game with about 20 bengals fans that were rooting for the Bills and all of them could not believe how he just kept giving up on plays and running out of bounds.
There were a ton of plays this season where we ended up 3rd and short due to him running out of bounds instead of fighting for the extra yard. Put Fred Jackson's heart on this guy and he would be a pro bowler.
God this team pisses me off....

I called and received $20 off for 12 months and $15 off for 15 months. They would not budge on any discounts with the ticket so I am going to call back next week and try canceling my auto renew on it.

I plan on calling in with my annual cancel threat tomorrow. What's funny is every year they ask if the nfl ticket is important and every time I say that it is but I am tired of seeing the Buffalo Bills suck every year. As soon as I say that it seems like they instantly believe me (or laugh) and the offers come pouring in lol.. Last year the guy said he was a raiders fan and felt my pain and instantly gave me the ticket for free and 10 bucks off my bill for a year.

The Russell Wilsom threads need to end. Chan would have never played him last year so most fans would still be hoping for them to draft a "franchise" QB this year. yeah looking back now it seems the Bills screwed up but if I remember right whoever picked before them took a punter in the 3rd round?

The only place I have ever had a problem was in Filthadelphia. Had a pickup truck drive through the middle of our tailgate full speed and had about 10 people try fighting me on the way in the stadium. Did I mention this was the last game of the season and both teams were out of playoff contention?

I happened to watch one of their games out of the blue this season. I believe it may have been against Ohio State and he was very impressive. As soon as I saw him throw the ball I thought to myself "damn why can't we have a QB in Buffalo that throws like that?"

I read the latest MMQB article on Lorenzo Alexander and it was interesting that he said that Rex is the one who had wanted to sign him since he was the jets coach.
This got me thinking... we know that Tyrod was all Rex and now it appears that Alexander was too. Who else was? Take those two out and do you still have the same opinion of Monos and Whaley on their recent free agency success?
I am still of the opinion that their draft history has been questionable and they have not done a good job filling one of the most important positions on the field, WR. We seem to take the old Oakland approach by drafting speed guys instead of guys with a history of success in college.
