  1. This was pretty rough, I just finished watching the game and I was upset with a few things. In particular, Spiller missed (2) blitz pick-up's and nearly got Fitz killed. Bell looked pretty bad in pass protection on 2-3 plays. Defensively, we got 0 penetration and pretty much got dominated up front with the 1's and 2's. One thing I noticed is that we played in base 3-4 / 4-3 all night, I don't think we blitzed at all.

On the positive, I think Thigpen played well, and was pretty accurate - without much help from his receivers. Fred Jackson is the man, all around great back, let's just hope Spiller can learn something from him.

This will be a long year, and I really hope we are headed in the right direction. We still have a lot of holes and unproven's on both sides of the ball. I remain positive.

  2. This is the problem with Bills fans. If a player is not in the pro bowl his first year, he sucks. Bell is developing nicely, and it would be utter stupidity to sign a journeyman and stunt his growth.

Exactly. Watch the tape, this kid is not the problem, and the ceiling is very high.

  3. Just because we don't know his sourcing doesn't mean he just made it up. Even if it's questionable sourcing, it doesn't make it patently false.

Without written records or an officer going on record it's simply left as possible. Now we are in a hazy spot where it's just he said she said.

Your logic makes no sense. Just because some quack says it doesn't make it true. If I accuse you of beating your kids, are you obligated to prove me wrong? I would ignore this fool and move on.

  4. Did you see the RB chip him? He went down faster than a bowling ball rolling off the table. Perhaps most troubling... he always looks happy and proud out there. Does he know?

It was pathetic much like his sorry career. That play alone would be enough for me to to cut him... what a waste of a pick.

  5. Thanks so much for posting AZ. That was a great article. I think the writer Erik Brady might be from or have worked in Bflo. Did he write for the Courier?

Anyways the article was fair, balanced, and very comprehensive. It brought up legitimate points both for and against Owens. I think his self-imposed gag order is pure genius. It's the only play he has right now with the media. The writer, Brady gave him a sympathetic but objective forum in which to hit his talking points. And he hit them all.

As T.O. pointed out, the Bills have Captains who are chosen partly because the team wants these guys to be the mouthpieces of the team, and yet he has been told by the league that he has to make himself available for interviews. If he won't allow himself to talk, isn't it a bit dictatorial that the league is insisting that he do?

I would ask TG, JW, and our own esteemed LC, to clue us in as to what the protocol usually is. Does Adrian Peterson have to make himself available? Randy Moss? I know it's always head coaches and quarterbacks but after them, what is the rule?

Anyways, thanks for a great read AZ.

No problem, that was kind of my take... it was a pretty fair piece from both sides. I loved this signing from day one, for various reasons on the field reasons, but mainly because of the national light it shines on a great organization. I know there is a pretty significant risk, but I absolutely loved this quote... "These people eat, breathe and sleep Buffalo Bills," Owens says. "We get shown so much love."

    Go Bills!

  6. Can we at least play one game this year before we ask for his head!? I am not a fan of Jauron (as a coach), but not sure if I really think he should get fired now (a few days before the opener). Last year after he finished up the season 2-8 would have been more appropriate. Anyway drink up to the 1000000nd 'fire Jauron' thread!!

  7. This has been a tough week having to with posters like you, and it's made me far too cranky to deal with having to respond to this mindless banal, and plane disrespect from you and at least two other posters, jwssswhoever and Spartacus.

As a result, I'm planning to take some time off this board to cool down and reconsider. I've got a busy week ahead of me, and there's no point respond to this baloney.

As much as I could try to ignore it, it just rubs me the wrong way.

To all those with whom I've shared many good and informed exchanges with, thank you all. It's been a pleasure.

I hope to be back at some point, but at this point it all seems too trying to deal with.

    Sincerely,

    John Wawrow.

Complete disrespect - I frequent this board daily and without your contributions it would be a shame. Hopefully a select few knuckleheads dont ruin your participation for the rest of us.

  8. Pittsburgh fans are praying he clears waivers but they feel he will be picked up quickly by another team.

Yea he was definitely a hot topic in their camp this summer. I was hoping the Rhodes cut was to make room for Redman - really concerned about or RB situation while Lynch serves his suspension.

  9. I say that he would be worth a look. At least for PS. I don't know why Pitt would not have kept him for a 3rd back.....

Their RB situation is pretty good, they kept...

    34 Mendenhall, Rashard RB 5-10 225 6/19/87 2 Illinois

    21 Moore, Mewelde RB 5-11 209 7/24/82 6 Tulane

    39 Parker, Willie RB 5-10 209 11/11/80 6 North Carolina

    44 Summers, Frank RB 5-10 230 9/6/85 R UNLV

Frank Summers was a 5th round pick who was injured for most of camp. Redman was undrafted, perhaps they felt like they had more vested with Summers. The other three were locks.
