Quinton Jefferson happy to be in thick of the action on Bills’ defensive line

‘“I’m excited for the opportunity to do more duties inside at the nose. To me, it’s about being a technician. If you have good technique, stay low, have fast, quick and violent hands, firing off the ball, it’s pretty easy to split a double team.”’

Bills Notebook: Decision day coming for Cody Ford’s position

‘“When I say this week, maybe over the next seven days,” he said. “So we’ll just see. We’re still looking at some things, trying to evaluate, make sure we have a full evaluation and understanding of our situation, both what that would do at the starter level and what it would do and how it would impact our depth behind those starters. So before we make any final move, we’re going to take all those factors into consideration.”’

Another Voice: Bills should rename home field for Marv Levy

‘A simple gesture, perhaps, but a powerful way to celebrate the coach whose time at the helm of this proud franchise brought so much pride and joy to Western New York. A time when Bills fans stood on top of the world.’

Finding enough practice time for four QBs is a challenge for the Bills

‘“That’s a challenge when you’ve got four,” McDermott said. “It’s good to have four, don’t get me wrong, but we have a limited amount of reps. You have to find a way to get them all enough reps to evaluate them. And I think all four of them have done a nice job.”‘

Buffalo Bills have Ziggy Ansah on their radar (report)

‘Ansah, 31, most recently played with the Seattle Seahawks. In 2019, he appeared in 11 games (one start) and recorded 18 total tackles, 2.5 sacks, eight QB hits, two forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries.’

Bills’ Edmunds trending toward breakthrough season; LB’s leadership qualities, on-field play shines early in camp

‘“His growth even in these walk-throughs that we’ve had, you can see it – he is much more comfortable much more at ease with what we’re asking him to do,” said Bills’ defensive coordinator Leslie Frazier. “His leadership qualities are beginning to show even more in his third season which is really good for our defense.”’

Bills cornerback Josh Norman out with hamstring injury

‘“Those take some time to really get a good read on,” McDermott said of Norman’s injury, making it unclear if the player will be available for the Bills’ opener against the New York Jets on Sept. 13. “The biggest thing right now is that he maximizes those treatment opportunities so that he can get back out there as soon as possible.”’

Bills’ Josh Norman injures hamstring, out indefinitely

‘Norman suffered the injury during team drills Thursday at Bills Stadium. He intercepted quarterback Josh Allen and was stripped of the ball by receiver Stefon Diggs during the return. Norman was slow to get up following the play but walked off under his own power before sitting out the remainder of the practice.’

Three bold Bills predictions for 2020 season: Buffalo will win a home playoff game

‘The arrow is pointing up for Sean McDermott’s team, the club with the most continuity in the NFL according to ESPN, for a season in which continuity will likely be significantly more important than it’s ever been in the history of the league. With the start of the regular season only a few weeks away, here are three bold predictions for the 2020 Bills.’

“These guys are off the chart”, newcomers speak highly of Bills defense

‘”For an old guy, he can move,” Jefferson laughed when talking about Addison. “Just watching him work and picking his brain and how he goes about rushing the passer and some of the moves he uses. Ten years in, he’s still moving like a young guy.”‘

Bills DE Mario Addison excited to play in Sean McDermott’s defense again

‘“I was like that’s a group I’d love to be a part of. Since we couldn’t really get to know each other because of the pandemic I learned these guys a lot through zoom meetings but when I actually got out here and ran around and have fun with the guys I realized that I did have high expectations for this group but when I actually got out there and ball with them these guys are off the chart,” Addison said on a zoom call with reporters.’

Quinton Jefferson “fits right in” on Bills defensive line

‘“Every day you got to bring your A game because of the guys around you. We’re all trying to push ourselves to that next level. It’s something that made me really want to come here, to be in the room with a bunch of talent. It’s only going to want me to push myself to be better,” Quinton Jefferson said on Friday to reporters. “You get that game knowledge from guys like Mario and Jerry and Trent who’ve been here and played at a high level, so you can watch them and see if I can implement in my game and even pick their brains on and off the field, so it’s pretty cool.”’

Bills CB Josh Norman suffers hamstring injury at practice

‘Norman is dealing with a hamstring injury that he suffered in practice on Thursday and did not return.’

4 Notable Quotes: Sean McDermott

‘It’s a challenge when you have four(QBs) and have a limited amount of reps. You have to find a way to get them all enough reps to evaluate them and I think all four of them have done a nice job and in particular Davis and Matt and Jake. All three bring different things to the table and that’s the interesting piece of it. You saw them yesterday on the field and what they were able to do. We had some high moments and we had some moments that we all went back so I’m encouraged by what they’ve done at this point with a lot of growth ahead and I’ll be interested to see how it unfolds this week.’

Could New York, Erie County revisit COVID no-fans stadium policy?

‘”And if, by chance, they make a decision like some communities are, well, we won’t allow fans for September, but we’ll consider it for October, then we’ll be revisiting this on a monthly basis.”‘

Mario Addison ready to make an impact (and sack Cam Newton) in year 10

‘“For an old guy, he can move. I told him one time, ‘you old, but you coming off that edge’. Just watching him work, picking his brain, how he goes about rushing the passer, and some of the moves he uses. It’s pretty dope just to watch him every day,” says Jefferson. “I see the work he puts in and I see why he was able to play so long at a high level. Ten years in, he’s still playing and moving like a young guy. It’s good to see how he takes care of his body.”’

McDermott sees progress, but still has questions after week one of padded-practices

‘“I think we know where we are as a team and that’s important. We’ve been off to a fast start because of the short run-up and the players have done a phenomenal job being dialed in, locked in to what we’re doing,” says McDermott. “The process continues in terms of the work that we have to put in. Next week will be a big week for us as a football team. We’ve got a lot of work to do. We’re not where we need to be so we’ve got a lot of work to do on and off the field to get ourselves ready to go.”’

Norman out indefinitely with injured hamstring

‘Norman is competing for the other starting cornerback position opposite of Tre White.’
