‘The 1st castaway has been voted off Buffalo Bills Island. This pick actually came as surprise to the TBD staff, as we expected his exit much later. It appears that the wounds that were inflicted upon his once adoring fans have not healed.’

‘Running back Sammy Morris recently signed a three-year contract with the Bills. Morris and his wife Leslie also bought a house in Hamburg. They have a nine-month old daughter, Kiera. Morris and defensive tackle Leif Larsen are the only draft picks to sign with the team. Here’s a Q&A with Morris.’

‘Single-game tickets for all nine Bills home games will go on sale to the general public on Saturday, July 8 at 8:30 a.m.’

‘Linebacker DaShon Polk, the last player drafted by Buffalo this year, signed with the Bills Thursday.’

‘The Buffalo Bills have signed running back Sammy Morris, a fifth-round draft choice this year. Morris, who played fullback and halfback over two seasons at Texas Tech, was the 156th player drafted overall.’

‘Former Tech running back Sammy Morris said he expects to sign a three-year contract today with the Buffalo Bills. The signing bonus is $100,000, according to Morris…"It’s a good deal," said Morris, the Bills’ fifth-round draft pick in April. "My agent was able to negotiate was able to negotiate a bigger signing bonus than guys taken before me in the draft."’

‘More than likely, Northern will serve as a backup to Porter, the team’s third-round draft choice in 1999 whose style of play reminds the team of a young Greg Lloyd. Porter had an outstanding training camp and preseason last year, and his development is one of the reasons the team elected not to re-sign free-agent Carlos Emmons, who started the past two seasons at right outside linebacker…Northern is 6 feet 2, 240 pounds and was a starter the past two years in Buffalo. But the Bills did not attempt to re-sign him because Keith Newman, a fourth-round pick in 1999, was expected to be the starter in 2000.’

‘The Steelers have apparently come to a contract agreement with linebacker Gabe Northern, although he has not officially signed a contract as of yet…The Steelers were one of three teams to show a strong interest in Northern, the New England Patriots and St. Louis Rams being the other two, but the black and gold was the only team that didn’t have an incumbent starter at the weakside linebacker spot.’

‘Head coach Wade Phillips caused great debate in upstate New York last season when he benched Doug Flutie in favor of forgotten man Rob Johnson on the brink of the playoffs, despite the fact the diminutive folk hero completed his final 12 passes in a victory over the Patriots in the second-to-last regular-season game.’

‘Sammy Morris, the former Texas Tech running back selected in the fifth round of the NFL draft, signed with the Buffalo Bills on Wednesday. During the recently completed minicamp, the Bills used Morris in the backfield and as a receiver.’

‘Half of the Quarterback Class of 1983 will be on hand Aug. 23 at Pro Player Stadium when the Dolphins honor one of its grads, Dan Marino. John Elway and Jim Kelly will join the public tribute to Marino, which starts at 7:30 p.m. All three won more than 100 regular-season games and threw at least 200 touchdown passes.’
