“ESPN The Magazine’s John Clayton reported Thursday that the San Francisco 49ers have increased their offer to Lawrence Phillips in the last 24 hours, and that the free-agent running back is leaning toward accepting the offer.”

The article says “Buffalo and Green Bay remain interested in signing [Lawrence] Phillips, but [Phillips’ agent Mitch] Frankel told interested teams that his client would decide which team he wanted to play for and then begin negotiations.” If anyone can figure out what that means, please let me know!
