A record-setting day for the Bills in Pittsburgh

‘The Bills rushed for a total of 249 yards on the ground in the 26-7 win — the highest total ever allowed by the Steelers at Acrisure Stadium (which opened in 2001). It was the second-highest rushing total ever against the Steelers in Pittsburgh during the Super Bowl era; the previous high was 310 rushing yards — also by the Bills – in 1975.’

John Murphy: Coaching lifted Bills to win over Steelers

‘Make no mistake – the Bills had considerably more talent on the field than the Steelers in Buffalo’s 26-7 victory. But the Bills won because they were coached to victory. Their coaches played a major role in getting the victory.’

Today in Bills stadium history: Dec. 1

‘2002 — Bills 38, Dolphins 21 — In a classic “when it’s too cold for them, it’s just right for us” shootout in front of 73,287 at Ralph Wilson Stadium, the Bills scored 21 unanswered points as the weather worsened in the second half of a snowy shootout. Ricky Williams set a Dolphins record rushing for 228 yards with two long scoring runs that put Miami up 21-17 late in the third quarter. The Bills responded with Drew Bledsoe throwing touchdown passes to Eric Moulds and Peerless Price covering 130 yards less than three minutes apart. Nate Clements’ interception aided Buffalo’s quick-strike scores. Bledsoe finished with 306 yards passing and three touchdowns, while Travis Henry rushed for 151 yards and a TD. Moulds (130 yards receiving), Price (97 yards receiving) and Henry all surpassed 1,000 yards on the year as the Bills even their record at to 6-6.’

Business trip: Bills start slow, dominate late to beat the Steelers

‘Three of their four losses — at Atlanta, Miami, and Houston — were all on the road. So when the Bills traveled to Pittsburgh for a 4:25 p.m. kickoff, they focused on attempting to halt something that’s been impacting their position in the AFC playoff race.’

Carucci Take 2: Bills find tough, gritty, resilient identity in Steelers beatdown

‘Most of all, though, the Bills needed that performance because it demonstrated a resounding response to the urgent situation in which they find themselves in the home stretch of the regular season.’

Allen and Bills’ make history, take down Steelers on the road

‘Even with both starting offensive tackles out of the game in Spencer Brown and Dion Dawkins, the Buffalo Bills were still able to dominate in the run game, putting up a total of 249 rushing yards against the Steelers. That number was historic, as it marked the most rushing yards ever allowed to a team visiting Acrisure Stadium, which has been the home of the Pittsburgh Steelers since 2001. That number is also the most the Bills offense has put up since Week 15 of the 2023 season against the Dallas Cowboys.’

Thad Brown: Bills prove they still have their fastball

‘There won’t be anyone from Buffalo searching for Super Bowl tickets just yet, but Sunday’s win in Pittsburgh quieted the angst for a moment. The Bills got their season back on the rails by doing what they do best. They pounded the rock.’

Bills 26, Steelers 7 | Final score, game recap + highlights

‘Defensive end Joey Bosa sacked quarterback Aaron Rodgers on the first snap of the second quarter, not only pushing Pittsburgh back to its own 17-yard-line but forcing a fumble. As Bosa crushed Rodgers into the ground, cornerback Christian Benford scooped the ball off the ground and didn’t have a lot of ground to cover to get into the endzone.’

Top 3 things we learned from Bills vs. Steelers | Week 13

‘Trailing 7-3 going into the locker room, it took the Bills all but 16 seconds to grab their first lead of the game — a much-needed time for Buffalo to record its first defensive touchdown of the season and the first touchdown of Benford’s career.’

'They rose to the occasion' | The Bills react to a hard-fought, gritty win at Pittsburgh

‘”Good win. Tough place to play. Well-coached football team,” McDermott said. “Hard-fought win, and a team win. Hard to do, especially late in the year on the road. Our guys, they showed up today, they stood up. They knew this would be a challenge and they rose to the occasion.”‘

Another pressure-filled stretch for the Bills could determine their decisions for 2026

‘Not only will the next six weeks determine whether this team can finally reach the NFL’s final game of the season, but the results may also determine the longterm direction of the Bills. Allen turns 30 in May. His coach, Sean McDermott, and general manager, Brandon Beane, are amid their ninth season in Buffalo. Both transformed the Bills from dysfunctional losers to perennial contenders, but the team has regressed with the NFL’s reigning MVP at quarterback. Even if no one will express the emotions tied to these high-stakes games, pressure is prevalent across the league as pretenders try to separate from the contenders.’

Bills numbers to know: 4 trends to watch for Buffalo's game in Pittsburgh

‘The Bills will be without both starting tackles – Dion Dawkins and Spencer Brown – as they face a formidable Steelers pass rush. Coach Sean McDermott did not say Friday who would start in their place. Buffalo quarterback Josh Allen said he was spending extra time on task with his offensive line this week to prepare for the challenge of T.J. Watt and company. “I’m having a big meeting with the O-line (Thursday), and just making sure that we’re relaying information,” Allen said Wednesday. “Again, just the biggest thing is communication and understanding when you have help, when you don’t, and it’s just my job to go out there and try to facilitate the football to our guys.”’

4 keys for the Buffalo Bills to beat the Steelers in Pittsburgh

’15: The Steelers’ 15 sacks while blitzing is the third-best mark in the NFL, and they rush at least five defenders at the eighth-highest rate. The Bills will need to have success on early downs to avoid third-and-long situations that allow Pittsburgh to come after Josh Allen. Only five quarterbacks have been sacked more this season when blitzed, and Buffalo has taken the fifth-most sacks on third down. The Steelers have allowed at least 99 rushing yards in three consecutive games, and they will not have rookie defensive end Derrick Harmon.’

Bills-Steelers: Who you got? Buffalo News writers make their predictions for Sunday's game

‘They are a bad road team with a quarterback who is banged up, an offensive line that could be without its starting tackles against T.J. Watt and a good Steelers pass rush and a run defense that has shown time and again it can’t stop other teams on the ground. add all of that up and it feels, for the first time this season, like we’re watching a team that very well could miss the playoffs. Steelers, 27-17.’
