‘The Buffalo Bills have work to do. Defensive tackles DaQuan Jones, Jordan Phillips, Tim Settle, Poona Ford and Linval Joseph are unrestricted free agents. Phillips told The Buffalo News he was mulling retirement. Either way, it leaves Oliver as the only defensive tackle on the Bills’ roster heading into free agency.’

Drafting a quarterback would be beneficial to Bills' long-term salary cap issues
‘Over the last two seasons, 64 backups — not counting rookies who took over after the season started — have started 217 games, winning 42.4% of them. The Bills, meanwhile, have spent $9.803 million on backup quarterbacks since 2020 — with no starts — and they have accumulated nearly as many end-of-game kneel-downs (35) as passing attempts (36).’
Gabe Davis says goodbye to Bills Mafia with lengthy video before hitting free agency
‘The video, captioned “🫶🏽🦬” on Instagram, features clips of Davis’ highlights four years with the Bills, along with reels of him talking and his teammates speaking glowingly of him.’
Bills' Gabe Davis posts Instagram reel seemingly saying goodbye to Buffalo, highlighting his stats
‘The video includes such notable highlights like his four-touchdown game against the Kansas City Chiefs in the 2021 AFC Divisional Round, his 98-yard and 62-yard touchdown catches against the Steelers in 2022, and clips of his teammates talking up Davis’ work ethic, professionalism, and ability as a receiver.’
Opinion: Capaccio: 2024 State of the Bills: Wide Receiver
‘General manager Brandon Beane said at his end-of-season press conference that he believes Stefon Diggs is still a true No. 1 wide receiver in the NFL. Diggs’ production at the beginning of the season was certainly on par with that. But from Week 10 on, he topped 50 yards only once, scored only one touchdown, and caught more than five passes only twice. Was it due to diminishing skill? Injury? Was it the result of Joe Brady‘s offense and play-calling? The Bills have to find out the answer to that question as they look assess the position.’
Gabe Davis: "Bills Mafia, thank you for changing my life. Thank you for the memories."
‘Towards the end of the video, Davis wrote “Bills Mafia, thank you for changing my life.” He continued, “Thank you for the memories.”‘
Gabe Davis hints that he’ll be leaving Buffalo
‘It’s possible that Davis and his agent have engaged in preliminary contract talks with the Bills, and that Davis has realized the sides are far enough apart that he’ll be signing elsewhere when he becomes an unrestricted free agent next month.’

Bills GM Brandon Beane faces tough call on what to do with Tre'Davious White
‘Let’s start with the numbers. The 29-year-old White is under contract for 2024 and 2025. His scheduled salary cap hit in 2024 is $16.443 million. White is due a roster bonus of $1.5 million on March 18, so that date serves as a deadline of sorts for Beane to make his decision. If White was released (or traded) before March 18, he would count $10.369 million against the 2024 cap in “dead money,” but the team would save $6.073 million in cap space. If Beane waited until after March 18 to release White, but did so before June 1, the cap savings would decrease to $4.573 million, while the dead money against the cap would increase to $11.869 million – making that an unlikely option.’
5 Bills contracts void today. How much dead money will Buffalo have on books for 2024?
‘In addition to the contracts voiding, each player’s cap charges will convert to dead money.’
NFL salary cap to be higher than expected: What does it mean for Buffalo Bills?
‘Once Beane does the work and gets the Bills under the eventual cap limit, the shopping might be delayed when free agency begins. Last season the Bills pulled off a few smaller free agent signing in guard Connor McGovern and receiver Deonte Harty during the first week. Most of Beane’s work happened during the second and third waves of free agency.’
Opinion: 2024 State of the Bills: Running back
‘Hines, on the other hand, is still under contract with the team. The 27-year-old tore his ACL in an offseason jet ski accident and never played in 2023. The Bills will have a significant salary cap savings of close to $5 million in 2024 if he’s released this offseason. It’s hard to see them holding onto him at a $5.48 million salary cap price. A release or restructure at a lower salary cap are probably the two most likely outcomes.’

Kicking game failed the Buffalo Bills too often during 2023 season
‘Bass, meanwhile, started the season on a heater, making his first nine field goals and 18 extra points through the first five weeks. From there, however, things got worse. While he remained reliable on extra points, missing just one in the regular season and playoffs (that came during a 32-6 win over the Jets), his field goal accuracy plummeted. From Week 6 through the Bills’ two playoff games, Bass went just 17 of 25 on field goals – a conversion rate of 68%. That’s woefully low for an NFL kicker. Of the 30 kickers who attempted at least 23 field goals in the regular season, Bass’ overall conversion rate of 82.8% ranked 22nd.’
Opinion: Sal's 2024 State of the Bills: Quarterback
‘The only pertinent discussion about Josh Allen this off-season as whether or not the team will restructure his contract to create more salary cap space. Allen is scheduled to count for over $47 million against the team’s cap, but the Bills can convert most of his base salary into a signing bonus and take that number down to below $30 million. That seems like something they’ll be doing, at least in some capacity, if not all of it.’

Bills need to hope expensive Von Miller can regain his old form
‘“I believe that I saw was his best game was the last game of the season – the Kansas City game,” said Bills General Manager Brandon Beane after the season. “And my hope is that that is a good direction for where we pick up at the beginning of next season. What he came back from and the way he worked certainly was impressive. Do I wish he was healthier through the course of the body of the season? Absolutely. But nobody worked harder to get himself back. And my hope is that he is healthy at the beginning of next season and ready to really play his best football and that this was another steppingstone.”’
Bills Mailbag: Should Brandon Beane make a bold move in the draft for a receiver?
‘For starters, the Buffalo Bills would have to give up a lot more than just their 2025 first-round pick. Let’s look at the top five of the draft. Chicago, Washington, New England, Arizona and the Los Angeles Chargers. The first three of those teams are in desperate need of a quarterback, and there are three of them expected to go in the top half of the first round. The Patriots also don’t figure to be a likely trade partner with the Bills, a divisional rival. If three quarterbacks don’t go in the first three picks, Harrison may very well go to one of those teams. Let’s say he does make it to No. 4, though.’
