‘Edwards, 27, filled much of last season as the third safety in Kansas City’s defense. But after an injury to starter Bryan Cook, he moved into a starter’s role for the last five games of the regular season. Then he started all four of the Chiefs’ playoff games, including their 25-22 victory over San Francisco in the Super Bowl.’

‘A popular name has been Julian Blackmon (Indianapolis), who reportedly was visiting the Bills. The signing of Edwards likely puts another veteran with starting experience off the Bills’ board. Blackmon is a former third-round pick out of Utah, and he’s coming off a four-interception season, his career high.’

‘In four years with the Commanders, Toohill played in 56 games with 14 starts. He tallied 78 total tackles, seven sacks, nine tackles for loss and 20 quarterback hits. He’s coming off his most productive season with five sacks last year. He became a starter in Week 9 last season, and started the next eight games after the Commanders traded Chase Young and Montez Sweat.’
