‘It’s pretty simple. Samuel has been passed on the depth chart by Elijah Moore, who has filled the “gadget” receiver role within the offense the first three weeks. Moore has had at least one carry in each of the first three games, and made a huge catch against the Dolphins on a drive that resulted in the go-ahead touchdown. Keon Coleman, Khalil Shakir and Josh Palmer are the top three receivers, Moore is No. 4, and Tyrell Shavers has earned a jersey on game day thanks to his usefulness on special teams and his blocking ability. It certainly looks like Samuel might have to wait for an injury to one of the receivers ahead of him to crack the game day lineup. Samuel’s signing has been a bust of a free-agent acquisition by general manager Brandon Beane to this point.’

Tim O'Shei: When the stadium is a normal part of life, the stories run deeper
‘The TaleGate stories tend to veer into why, and how, these fans love their Bills. A woman talking about sneaking her mother out of a nursing home, where she was recovering from a stroke, to go to the game. A man sharing his excitement, in American Sign Language, over attending Bills games over the last nine years and meeting quarterback Josh Allen. A daughter reminiscing about attending her first Bills game in frigid weather with her father, who died a couple years later.’

This date in Bills stadium history: Sept. 28
‘1986 — Chiefs 20, Bills 17 — Jim Kelly threw for 291 yards and a touchdown to rookie Ronnie Harmon that put Buffalo ahead going into the fourth quarter, but Kelly’s three interceptions, the most he would throw in a game during his first NFL season, aided ’83 draft classmate Todd Blackledge in leading Kansas City’s comeback win. On the opening drive Kelly audibled at the line into a 41-yard TD run for Rob Riddick, who had 148 total yards starting in place of an injured Greg Bell. Kelly further endeared himself to Bills fans when he ran out the locker room after getting x-rays on his bruised throwing arm only to take more hits. Attendance was 67,555.’
Bills elevate Jordan Phillips ahead of Week 4 game vs. New Orleans

Carucci Take 2: Bills know how to avoid trap of losing as overwhelming favorite
‘Oddsmakers are spotting the 0-3 Saints more than two touchdowns, a staggering margin for the NFL. That, alone, could give the 3-0 Bills more than enough reason to take the Saints lightly.’
