‘Center Connor McGovern and running back James Cook have been added to the AFC roster, the NFL announced Tuesday. It will be the first Pro Bowl of McGovern’s career, and the second straight year that Cook has gone. McGovern is a replacement for Chiefs center Creed Humphrey, while Cook replaces Ravens running back Derrick Henry.’

‘On Tuesday, the Bills added two more, signing wide receivers Tyrell Shavers and Jalen Virgil to reserve/future contracts.’

‘Defensive line (1.5). The Bills were not able to exploit stopgap left tackle Joe Thuney the way Houston did the week before. A.J. Epenesa (46 snaps) and Dawuane Smoot (30 snaps) got most of the action over Thuney. Von Miller played only 16 snaps and only 10 pass rush snaps in what probably was his last game for the Bills. Why? Ed Oliver played the best of the defensive linemen with three run stuffs and two QB hits.’

‘The Buffalo Bills found themselves playing from behind during much of Sunday’s AFC championship game and thus leaned heavily on their three-receiver personnel grouping (11 personnel) in their 32-29 loss to Kansas City. In a perfect world, the Bills would have been able to get into their big-personnel run packages more. They ran six times for 51 yards, an 8.5-yard average, with six offensive linemen on the field. But in 11 personnel, the Chiefs did a better job defending the run than Baltimore – which was the No. 1 run defense – the week before in the divisional round. Running backs were 13 for 47 against the Chiefs, a 3.6 average. They were 16 for 63, a 3.9 average, vs. the Ravens.’
