3rd round pick??

The problem at the bills TE position is not depth but getting a top level player at TE. All the prospects with top level potential are already gone and the bills have 3 TEs that are as good or better than anyone they can draft at this point. Therefore, picking a TE would be poor value and stupid. It is unlikely the bills will get any starters from rounds 3-7 so they should go for depth and pick the best player available for all OL positions, 4th DE, Safety (Free and Strong), LB, WR, and possibly a backup QB if one falls.

Why didn't we take Brad Cottam with are 3rd round pick. 6'8" 270 te from Tennessee was the way to go and it would have filled a need at TE. A backup DE we could have got in the 4th round or later.

We could grab a TE with our late 4th or early 5th that is equally as flawed as Brad Cottam. Pass Rushing DE's are harder to acquire than TEs. I still like taking one later in the draft, but, if there is an equally rated OLB or OC/OG there in the 4th round, I would rather address those positions first.
