There is no way they go into the draft with just Smith as the main guy. Hopefully Marv can use some leverage against Baltimore and maybe lean on Green Bay a bit. This will be interesting. Assuming Cleveland is indeed the first team in the draft order with eyes on him (Detroit, at #2, has certainly made MORE dubious draft-day decisions), Arizona and Washington (at #5 and 6) are shored at the position, the Vikings have pressing needs elsewhere-- Houston, at pick 8, could be where he lands; or Atlanta at 10. Short of an aggressive and unnatural move by a franchise already owning a reasonable feature-back, it could be a precipitous drop for him. If Houston soils itself (which it enjoys doing on draft day) it's really just left to Atlanta before he lands in our lap at #12. I'm not a huge proponent of drafting a RB with a high first-round pick, it's just curious how Lewis's signing (a relatively insignificant move) alters the complexion of the draft-- and could potentially cost Peterson, through no fault of his own, millions of dollars in guarantees. First, he reveals Willis' market value to Rosenasz, then he brings in the top three runningbacks for visits of which one will get signed, leaving the other teams scarce for backs. Then he waits until Jamal Lewis is signed by the Browns (tentatively). He has artificially increased Willis' trade value by making Baltimore desperate. Brilliant! Quinn, I believe he is the best QB prospect even though Russell is superior athletically. 2. Johnson, With the trade they made for Foster there is no longer a pressing need for a LT 3. Russell 4. Anderson, tough decision but look for a trade partner 5. Thomas 6. Adams 7. Ginn 8. Peterson, Green is a band aid till AP gets his feet wet. 9. Branch, with the aging decrepid interior dying off Branch is the man for the 3-4. 10. Landry 11. Okeye helps to coagulate a pretty good formula 12. buckeyemike Posted March 8, 2007 Share Posted March 8, 2007 Phil Savage was on the radio this AM stating that the Browns were previously interested in Willis McGahee, but did not want to sign him to a "five or six-year long contract".
