Left Tackle Has To Be The Pick

Recommended Posts

Take the best player available when out turn comes or if possible, trade down for more picks. They know these players best and I trust their judgement (unlike past regimes). so whoever they pick if they don't trade out of their spot will be just fine. If the BPA is an OT like Reiff and he's there at 10 then so be it.

Starting left tackles the last 4 Super bowls and round they were drafted in:

2012- Light/2nd Diehl/5th

2011- Jonathan Scott(former Bill)/5th Clifton/2nd

2010- Bushrod/4th Johnson/6th

2009- Starks/3rd Mike Gandy(former Bill)/3rd

The QBs on those teams? Brees, Brady, Manning, Warner, Big Ben, Rodgers, Eli. QBs make the Oline look better. Fitz gets the ball out of his hands quickly(where it's going is anyone's guess) and moves well in the pocket.

The impact edge rushers on those teams: Mathews, Woodley, Harrison, Freeney, Mathis, Tuck, Osi, JPP.....

If there is an impact edge rusher there, he will be and should be the pick. LT is the most overrated position in the game.

i think buddy nix appreciates this line of thinking - he likes to find the diamonds in the rough along the OL
