  1. Fans root for the best of the team. If I think getting rid of Jauron will help the team, and it takes losing to make that occur, then I still consider myself a fan even if I'm hoping we lose.

It's not as if I take pleasure in seeing us lose week to week, but the way I see it, we are never moving forward, as it is right now. If we go 4-12 Ralph has to fire Jauron, and that helps the Buffalo Bills organization, which is what I want.

I'm unsure that we're already in the "we should root for him to lose!" situation, so I do still want them to win, but once we're eliminated from playoff contention, the winning needs to end. Winning in Denver last year was the worst thing that happened to this team.

  2. What if the thought in the organization (or around the league at the time) is that the underlying talent level of that particular team was ACTUALLY 15-36?*

    Would you still be baffled?

Are you baffled that Bill Belichick was a colossal failure in Cleveland? What about Jimmie Johnson's years in Miami? How about Joe Gibbs' awful return? Three years ago, John Fox and Marvin Williams were geniuses. Today? What about Tom Coughlin? New Yorkers wanted to string him up by his testicles. Today?

Why do you think that is?

How is it that a guy is a ManGENIUS when Brett Favre's bicep isn't about to fall off but an idiot and fireable when it finally does?

If John Fox is such a great coach, (and I want you to think about this) how is it even POSSIBLE that Carolina is considering firing him?

*I make no claim that the Bills were actually a 15-36 team over the past three years. Simply making an observation.

Edit: Eh... this post came off harder than I wanted it to. I'm not trying to pick on you, I'm genuinely interested in answers from everybody on this. Why don't people think that talent level overwhelms coaching ability? I mean, isn't the evidence there for everyone to see every year in the league?

How did miami go from 1-15 to 11-5 in one year, when they lost the leagues defensive MVP that year? By bringing in Pennington? Jake Long?

How did NE go 11-5 last year starting matt cassel and benjarvus green ellis?

Is Bart Scott really a big enough talent change so that the Jets go from bad to unbelievably good?

Why is it that an offense featuring Pierre Thomas, Drew Brees, Marques Colston, and Robert Meachem is top 2-3 in the league, while an offense featuring Marshawn Lynch, Fred Jackson, Lee Evans, and Terrell Owens can't get a TD all game long? It's because of talent, really?

He doesn't care to sound like you.

  4. I'm headed to college (UCF) in the fall and I need as much help as I could possibly get for saving money. What are some of the things you guys did to save cash when in college? Any tips would be great! Also, I am leaning towards not purchasing a meal plan. The thing seems like a rip off, $1500 a semester which only covers 10 meals a week. The only way I'd spend that much is if Jessica Biel was sitting at the table with me for dinner!

I just went through my freshman year. Went out of state to a school I had no high school friends to attend with. I obviously don't know you're financial situation, but don't worry about cutting costs too much. Yes, buy used books, but don't go overboard, especially as a freshman. You're gonna want to go to football games to get drunk with your buddies. You're gonna want to casually go to the dining hall after class with a few friends. You may need to invite a girl to dinner to be impressive.

Strictly cost saving techniques, though: don't use a credit card, buy used books, don't get tricked into spending too much on girls, don't lend too much to friends(so many jews in college), don't let your late night hunger turn into a 20 dollar delivery order.

But seriously, assuming you aren't in too bad of shape, don't worry about money too much. Live the life man. You're only gonna be 18 and in college in florida so much in your life. Saving an extra grand but having it cost you frat parties, good liquor, dates, etc simply isn't worth it.

Getting a half-assed school job is definitely a good idea, though. With something like that, it almost forces you to do work. Chilling in your dorm will lead to friends coming over, napping, tv, etc. Having a job in a computer lab or library, you will pretty much have to study. You're not gonna wanna study sunday night after the bills loss, so study on a wednesday afternoon while getting paid to chill in the library.

And oh yeah, don't follow the cell phone advice listed above. With all due respect to the opinions above, you simply will be a fish out of water not having texting or a pay as you go phone or whatever. Spend the money on a phone and be able to text ppl for dinner plans, flirting, etc. Not being able to do so def isn't a good idea.

  5. Anyone have the list?

    E. Moulds should easily be on the list.

    Other Bills candidates:

    T. McGee, Lindell, Marv as GM

McGee is more overrated than underrated. If he wasn't a return specialist, we would view him as the 4th rd mediocre starter that he is. Instead, he made the pro bowl the one year and has all the hype in the world.

    Moulds is definitely underrated, though.

  6. I reponded to an earlier post- but this is so damn impotant to me - I wanted to open a new post

First the first 2 words my mother taught me was "Lou" as in Saban, and "Bills" in the early 60s. mom also got me a puppy and she was with me for 12 years. As much as I love the Bills, Jack Kemp never woke me when my smoke detector went off, Jim Kelly never came over and licked my face after a bad day at work, Joe D. never let the hair stand up on the back of his neck - if someone unknown approached me or my family.

I have probably have had a 100 dogs in my life and touch my life (mine, my brothers, mt nephwews, my kids, and mt friends, and many of them have had to wear a Bills Bandana around thir necks on Sunday Sept. through the last game of the season - in good seasons (way to few) and bad seasons. I am loyal to my teams (Bills, Sabres, Blue Jays & Cubs) as my dogs are loyal to me and my loved ones.

If the Bills even bring Vick in for a work out - I would burn all of my Bills belongings, this world is filled with natural tragady and disspair - why would I watch to be enternained by a person who thrived on intentionaly wanted see non-repairable physical and mental damage to innocent dogs. And if they did not perform - strangle them, drown them, beat them. I would guess the retrospect would be - Interception - 2,000 volts to your testicals Mike, Loss game = cigarette burns on your neck, Blown read at the line = public flogging. Lost Super Bowl - Death by Hanging in public square. Guess if that was the case - the Bills only go to 1 super bowl.

RIP: Missy, Brandi, Scoop, Lucky, Tasker, Butkis, Kelpie

And a keep barking and protecting: Rocker, Harley, Dakatoa, Kona, Christie, Sheba, Buddy, Pudge, Ozzy, and Max - and if Mike Vick shows up - lift your leg up and PISS ON him and bite his nuts

    chas_rocker@yahoo.com

Geez and fans talk about TO being a distraction- Chas_Rocker shakes his head

Have you ever swatted at a bee? Stepped on an ant? Eaten turkey on thanksgiving?

Dogs really aren't that !@#$ing special, and if you want to quit being a fan because the bills bring in a special player because he used to fight dogs, then you just arent a fan. I bet Lou Saban once killed an ant, do you hate him?

I root for the Bills to score touchdowns, not to be nice dudes. If Marshawn smokes weed, so be it, as long as he scores. If Whitner wants to fight a cop, I really, truly don't care. He's not my friend, he's a player on the team I'm a fan of.

  7. He is no longer an Elite player, and the numbers prove that. Despite seeing single coverage for most of the year, he was a non factor in half of the games. He is 35 and will turn 36 this season. Do you honestly believe he is going to be a better player this year, or is it logical to expect his skills to diminish a little bit more? There is a reason the Cowboys cut him, and his scum bag personality isn't the entire reason. Another year older, with less talent around him and playing in the northeast US in late Nov-Dec, I think we can expect to see some pretty avg numbers from good ol' TO.

I just showed you the tape to prove that the numbers really don't mean anything. If Lee Evans has a game with 19 yds, and he's 50th in the AFC that week in yards, is he the 50th best reciever? No...He just had the 50th best yards total. If he played on the Pats or Colts, its an easy bet he'd be in the top 5-10.

TO can still run, and if you can't see that in my links, then you aren't watching them correctly. Just because Garrett/Romo/Witten took away from his numbers doesn't mean he sucks.

  8. Dude why are you so harsh on Walker? Seriously, he held his own last year. I don't think any of your logic as warranted, and you certainly did little to justify your stance on Bell.

Left tackle and right tackle are completely different stories. If Walker were to start at RT, i wouldn't whine at all. He did hold his own last year. I simply fail to see him keeping up with those guys at all. Bell is quick, looked halfway decent in preseason, and seems much better fit to play LT.

  9. Will be a better LT this year than Langston Walker. Walker is a kind of old, fat, overweight giant. He's going to embarrass himself trying to block on the left side. The right side, fine, he can block over there against the chris kelsay's of the world. But 95% of RE's should be able to beat him consistently. Even if Bell is weak, he is athletic enough to keep up with these guys, and you would think he is at least strong enough to push around the Freeney's, Schobel's, Maybin's, and Adalius Thomas's of the world. Being a LT is not about being 6'8 and having no agility, its about being athletic and quick and at least average strength(which Bell should've developed).

Even if Walker is the better football player per se, he will absolutely suck on the left side. And please don't point to the first few games last year. There will undoubtedly be at least 12 times Walker's guy simply runs around him, if he starts at LT.

  10. Your workout routine will also have a big to do with this......not to mention you need to be getting enough calories to support your training.

High weight.....low reps.....lots of rest between sets. Dont get suck in the 3 sets of 10 reps pigeon hole.....if you want to be big you gotta lift big.

No more then you can do with good form.....but definately want to go on the heavy side.

And dont forget your rest....both between workouts and getting sleep at night.....big factor there.

Thats the right answer. I went from about 165 my junior year of high school to about 205 by the end of my senior year, and it was all good muscle. Some of it has become fat, but thats another story haha.

But yeah, as long as your working out a lot, go ahead and eat whatever you want. Go to McDonalds, it really doesnt matter. You'll get fat in your arms and sh--, and then when you work it out, it'll get jacked.

As for working out itself, do more than you think you should. I have so many friends who have complimented me on how much bigger I got or whatever. Then I'll peer pressure them into doing another set, and I hear about how they "already did their 3 sets of 10..." Working out isn't about doing a predictable 3 sets of 10 of 4 differnet exercises, its about kicking your muscles' collective asses. If your chest hurts, do another set. You're not going to hurt yourself.

And yeah, doing shoulders makes you look really jacked.

  11. His measurables aren't all that great, but it's also not like he was our top draft pick. We took him in the 5th....expectations aren't exactly sky high. He was very productive on the field from what I've read, so I'd put a lot more stock in that than I would what he did at the combine.

C'mon man. Can't you see his numbers? He sucks...

THIRD WORST SAFETY AT THE COMBINE!!!!!HE MUST SUCK!!!!!!CUT HIM TILL HE CAN OUT-BROADJUMP A CENTER

  12. I'm the first guy to always blame the coaches for sucking. They really do.

Nonetheless, our FO did a damn good job identifying needs, and taking value picks that matched the needs. I loved it, and even though I'm always Mr. Negative, we did a good job this weekend, and it has me excited.

  13. In two years Leo will have made you forget all about the artist formerly known as Greer. Put it in your siggy. The bills didn't miss on him.

He may not be better than Jabari now, but he's better than him at this point in his career.

BTW, just because a rookie doesn't speak with your tempo, accent or vocabulary, it doesn't make him unintelligent. I'd like to see you discect that playbook.

The Bills defense has 3 plays.

    Signed,

Chad Pennington, Kurt Warner, Jay Cutler, others

  14. You need to do more homework on the Florence signing. Do some research first, then get back to us.

I will give you a hint.

Florence is not expected to replace Greer. I will leave it at that and maybe you'll figure out the rest

Thanks for enlightening me. I'd rather pay 9 mil/year for Greer than 3.3 for florence.

Go ahead and say Florence is a depth signing, Greer would be a starter signing.

I will give you a hint. You don't know how to build a team and your a jackass.

  15. But some of the sh-- i read on this board is unbelievable.

The gist(sp?) of the stuff i read on here is this "WE DONT HAVE TALENT!!!!!!WE NEED PLAYMAKERS!!!!!!!!!!!WE NEED GAME-CHANGERS!!!!!!!!!WE NEED BALLHAWKS!!!!!!!!!!!"

So, then you guys defend the Florence signing, and say you love it. I even read that someone(Dawgg) thinks Florence could be an upgrade.

If you guys could find me someone who made more plays and changed more games for our defense last year than Greer I'd appreciate it.

Go ahead and tell me 7 mil is too much for him, but you wanna pay Florence 3.3???

Like I said, I'm sure plenty of people on here have level heads and are smart. I don't mean to attack you. But Jesus Christ, if you're supporting the FO saving 3.7 mil to go from Greer to FLorence, then you're ridiculous. Especially considering we're nowhere near the cap.
