  1. Being in Oregon, it's not like the Seahawks fans have anything they can say... It's usually just sympathetic pats on the back and actually sometimes get praise for sticking with a bad team for so long.

As an adult, it's in my DNA already, but I have to admit it's tough to want to try to get my 6 year old son bought in to the Bills

  2. An important point I don't see anyone else has brought up is the impact a statement like Ralph's makes to free agents. To state we lack talent and it's going to take years to get back on track, what free agent in his prime is going to want to come to the Bills?

Would you want to sign on in the prime of your career because you think this team is going to improve?? Hell no. With statements like that the only free agents the Bills are going to attract are those with marginal talent that want as top dollar as they can get....... (see Marcus Stroud and Kawika "I go to who pays me the $$" Mitchell)

  3. Maybe he wants to be traded or released next.

Exactly what I was thinking... all he is doing with putting the organization down, yet doing nothing on the field to change it will eventually piss off the coaching staff. Something that is astoundingly stupid about Whitner is he continues to call out his embarrassing and not own up to his role in it. He is what he thinks he is.....

  4. Listening to Ralph's HOF speech, we heard him say "it's all about the great game," that he got involved in promoting the AFL, "not because of the money, but because he loved the game."

Any owner who stands pat and watches this team peddle backwards for 10 years is not about 'the love of the game.' If he cared that much about the game, he'd want to see it played the right way. Instead he has a listless coach and lets his talent leave via free agency each year.

It's not about the game, it's about the money. With 55K season tickets sold things look pretty good for Ralph in Detroit.

  5. I am convinced that Ralph did just that by retaining Jauron. I have seen many other posters say that this was the last of it for them. I am 37 years old. I am not getting Sunday Ticket next year. If I lived in Buffalo, I wouldn't renew season tickets. Unlike Lincoln, Ralph doesn't seem to get that you can't fool all the people all of the time.

I have officially adopted the Chargers as my second team. Nothing will ever replace my Bills, but you know you're in trouble when Norv freakin' Turner is a better option than the guy coaching your team. Ugg. If only we had Wade Phillips back. At least he was tolerable.

I wonder if Ralph ever admits that he has made some HORRIBLE decisions with this franchise? Who does he blame for this mess of a franchise? The only bigger messes are Detroit and Cincy.

29 years as a die hard fan and I can't believe I'm saying this but I'm done. After suffering through some of the most astounding defeats in sports, bills fans are the most loyal of any.

What is different with ralph keeping dj is that he has disrespected the fan base and our passion for winning. You cannot watch the coaching performances against Cleveland, jets, NE or at and convince anyone that dj was retained because he gives us the best chance to WIN. By alienating his fan base, we'll likely see tick sales drop. Ralph will then cite low tick revenue as reason why a franchise move is needed.

  6. We're spoiled compared to teams like the Bengals Lions Rams etc. Good riddance.

I'm not happy with keeping of Jauron, but I'm not killing myself over it. I think more then anything the personell of the team needs to be changed. Watching the primetime teams each week makes me ask myself "where are these types of players on the Bills?" The players like Jauron which means this team is always going to be playing hard and giving an effort, but now we neeed players who are ultra talented to go with the same effort. The board is wiped clean and Jauron and the rest of the organization can get back on track starting with this draft and free agent off season. I'm looking forward to 09.

You ask where are the prime time players? They will not be coming here as long as this franchise is a joke spending year after year out of the playoffs. Dj staying ensures free agents won't come here for the coaching. Ralph won't spend big or over cap. Be prepared for years of high motor character guys. This franchise is irrelevant in todays NFL

  7. What is telling is that Buffalo isn't even mentioned as a destination for him in the media, because nobody there even considers Buffalo a team that is serious about winning.

Just mind boggling, that we aren't even considered for his services.

I think you hit the nail on the head. The Bills have been directionless and irrelevant for the past decade and they don't even make it into the conversation

  8. In the news article, it mentions that the Bills Treasurer is in attendance. This makes me think Jauron has signed the extension and they're working on 1) the financial implications of firing DJ now and 2) a deal that financially makes sense to both parties to void the extension and allow DJ's contract "to not be extended."

This would avoid Ralph needing to publicly "fire" DJ, whom he seems to have much respect for. Maybe it's normal to have a treasurer present in these types of discussions, but it strikes me as a little odd
